The monsters were following the trail of blood dripping from her feet.
‘No, if I stop here…’
“Ugh!”
To make matters worse, she tripped over a stone. She flailed to regain her balance, but her body flew against her will.
Was she going to fall to her death? Was this how her story would end, dying meaninglessly in a world she transmigrated to…?
“Ah!”
But instead of landing on the cold mountainside, she found herself in someone’s strong arms.
What? A white wolf?
She saw a man’s chest, slightly heaving, above the pink n*pples.
He had a body as white and muscular as a white wolf, but he was different. The pulsing veins, the muscles moving with his breath, and most importantly, the warmth.
“Sir Emmett…?”
If you asked how she recognized him just by his body, it was because she had… detoxified his demonic poison, not sexually harassed him.
Rosé touched the man’s chest and lifted her head. The man, bare-chested, was indeed Emmett.
Did it rain? Water dripped from his bangs. She instinctively reached up to brush his hair back but quickly dropped her hand.
“How did Sir Emmett get here…?”
“Are you hurt anywhere?”
Emmett, who had safely caught Rosé, looked at her with busy eyes. But at some point, his ears turned bright red.
Only then did Rosé realize she was wearing a revealing dress, not the black cloak, and hurriedly covered her chest.
“T-This is… Well, you see!”
“There’s another human! Kill them!”
Unfortunately, there was no time for explanations. The monsters, having spotted them, were coming down through the snow.
“Step back.”
“It’s okay. I have a weapon too…!”
Oh, right, it was a d*ldo.
“Haha… I don’t have a weapon…”
Rosé laughed awkwardly and quickly put the d*ldo back in her inventory.
It might be okay with someone else, but he was an S-tier. She didn’t want to be labeled as ‘d*ldo girl’ before even going through the targets.
‘There are so many of them, will he be okay…’
There were two A-tier white wolves, five B-tier servant wolves, and ten C-tier skeleton soldiers.
It was a tough fight for a single Blue Knight. She couldn’t even absorb s*men here…
“Hehe, finally caught you, human!”
The skeleton soldiers brandished nailed clubs arrogantly. It was ridiculous for creatures that could be taken down with a d*ldo to act so high and mighty.
“Attack!”
“Uwaaa!”
The flimsy bones clattered as they rushed at Emmett.
Emmett swung his sword, targeting the joints of the skeletons.
Slash! Thud! Slash!
“Aaah! My arm!”
The severed bones rolled down the mountain. If they could retrieve them, they might be able to reattach them, but finding white bones in the snowy mountains was nearly impossible.
Taking advantage of the skeletons’ confusion, Emmett slashed their necks. Even the skulls that were wearing helmets rolled down along with their arms.
‘Great! He’s already taken down ten!’
Even though they were just C-tier monsters, their speed was incredible. It was amazing how he could wield such a heavy longsword so lightly, something she couldn’t even lift.
“Grrr…”
“How dare a mere human!”
This time, the servant wolves covered in brown fur came charging with maces.
The iron balls on chains flew towards Emmett’s head.
Emmett easily dodged the attack by bending his waist.
Crash!
The iron ball smashed into a rock.
The once-solid rock shattered instantly. If it had hit his head, he would have had to prepare for a fractured skull at the very least.
The servant wolves, snorting in frustration, swung their maces again. The iron balls flew rapidly from both directions.
Emmett leaned back in time and blocked the iron balls with his sword. The blue light emanating from his sword repelled the servant wolves holding the maces far away.
“Those humans, together…!”
“Grrr!”
The servant wolves, who had hit their heads on tree trunks, stood up, huffing and puffing.
Their faces and bodies transformed, becoming more beast-like. The wolves, now covered in brown fur, discarded their weapons and charged at Emmett with bare hands.
Emmett imbued his sword with hex and launched his attack.
Swish!
The sword moved at an invisible speed, slicing through the wrists of the servant wolves.
“Aaaargh!”
“Aaaargh! My hand!”
Black blood spurted from the severed ends. Even the wolves whose hands were not cut off hesitated and stepped back.
He was unusually strong for mere human strength. It seemed like he didn’t react to the demonic energy at all.
“To struggle against a mere human, how disgraceful.”
The white wolves, unable to watch any longer, stepped in.
They gathered demonic energy to create a white vortex. Snowflakes formed and soon turned into sharp ice shards.
Swish!
The shards split and aimed at Emmett’s entire body.
Emmett quickly stabbed his sword into the ground. The hex imbued in the sword spread to the ground, creating a small barrier around him.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The shards bounced off the barrier and fell to the ground powerlessly. But he couldn’t keep this up forever.
Emmett pulled out his sword and began deflecting the falling shards one by one as he closed the distance to the white wolves.
Rosé watched in disbelief at his speed.
‘Fast. And precise.’
The sharp ice shards seemed to fall like mere snowflakes.
Was it because the light surrounding his sword was as blue as his eyes? It looked beautiful, even in the midst of battle.
That was the power of someone who has awakened.
Compared to her, who was swinging a d*ldo to defeat monsters, Emmett looked like a true hero.
The distance was now only three steps.
The flustered white wolf created an ice spear instead of shards and swung it at Emmett.
Swish! Swish!
Emmett dodged the ice spear by twisting his body to the side.
And with one more step forward, he finally entered the attack range.
“Damn human!”
Clang!
The spear and sword clashed in mid-air.
The beastly form of the white wolf was twice the size of Emmett. It was an opponent he couldn’t match in strength.
As expected, Emmett’s feet started to slide backward.
“Hehe. Do you think you can defeat us?”
Sweat dripped down Emmett’s forehead. He had overexerted himself by recklessly opening his hex in a state of physical exhaustion. But there was still a chance.
A spear couldn’t move faster than a sword. He had to exploit the speed difference.
Swish!
Emmett took a step back and ducked to avoid the spear.
Thud!
The heavy spearhead buried itself in the snow. Seizing the opportunity, Emmett raised his sword and charged at the white wolf.
“Foolish human!”
The white wolf created ice crystals in front of itself to form a shield.
Bang!
The blue sword energy collided with the transparent crystals. Meanwhile, another white wolf raised its spear and lunged at Emmett.
“Sir Emmett, watch out!”
Rosé shouted, stomping her feet in frustration. Even though it could be taken down with a d*ldo, an A-tier was still an A-tier. Any injury could be fatal.
“Damn it!”
Swish!
Emmett barely twisted his body to avoid the incoming spearhead.
The white wolf, who almost shattered its crystal and got attacked, readjusted its grip on the spear, breathing heavily.
The battle was back to square one.
Emmett’s body was trembling slightly. His lips were turning purple.
Though he had been maintaining his body temperature with hex, the northern weather was harsh for someone from Monchen.
It was uncertain how much longer he could hold out.
Emmett checked on Rosé, who was hiding behind a rock. Since she was wearing only a dress, she was shivering and watching him anxiously.
He turned his gaze back to the monster in front of him and spoke loudly enough for her to hear.
“If you follow the path down, you’ll see the Restilia Forest! It’s where we’re supposed to meet the rest of the team. Go now!”
‘You want me to run away alone?’
There were only two monsters now, but if other search parties joined, there would be no chance. Facing them alone was out of the question.
She couldn’t just run away like this.
Rosé glanced at the inventory icon sparkling on the side of the screen.
The d*ldo…
“Grr… This is the last time I’ll go easy on you, human.”
The white wolf approached with long strides, raising its spear.
Emmett silently readjusted his grip on his sword.
The blue energy that had been faintly surrounding the blade flared up like a burning fire.
“Yes, it will be the last.”
For the next ten minutes.
Emmett opened all his hex.
“Die!”
“Grrr!”
A blue glow flickered in Emmett’s eyes as he blinked.
Swish!
Two spears flew toward Emmett’s head. He had already memorized the pattern.
Emmett retreated quickly to dodge the attack. The two spears embedded themselves in the empty snowfield.
Swish!
One of them raised its spear first, but it was still too slow. Emmett, lowering his body, swiftly closed the distance to its nose.
The white wolf’s pupils shook. When did he get so close?
Slash!
“Argh!”
As the sword blade cut through the monster’s neck, its beastly body shrank and returned to its human form.
