[To my dear Titiana,
The capital must be feeling the cool breeze by now. The Esrenche estate is still hot. Perhaps because of the climate, everyone here takes a nap around 2 PM, but I haven’t quite adjusted yet.
I received the artifact you sent—a video sphere that can store moments you want to remember. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it, but I’ll keep it safe. Perhaps I’ll use it when the two of you visit Esrenche.
Until we meet again, stay healthy.]
Inside the envelope were dried flowers of a light purple hue. Each flower, slightly smaller than a fingernail, had five small petals, resembling stars.
‘Very much like Yujin.’
The letter, written in a calm tone, was filled with delicately dried flowers, reflecting Yujin’s seemingly aloof yet kind nature.
‘I’m relieved to know he’s doing well at the estate.’
A nap, huh. It was only natural that Yujin, who was always diligently buried in work, hadn’t adjusted yet.
As I chuckled and reread the letter from the beginning, a grumpy voice sounded from behind me.
“Whose letter is making you so happy, Titi?”
“Yuri.”
Yuri approached me and naturally kissed the corner of my eye. I wrapped my free arm around him lightly.
“Did you have a good time at the Magic Tower? How’s the Tower Master doing?”
“He’s the same as always.”
At his answer, I just smiled silently.
When Yuri said “the same as always,” he meant that Colin was trying to pass on the position of Tower Master, and Yuri was refusing.
‘Yuri must be the only one who dislikes inheriting the Tower Master position.’
Colin argued that since he’d already passed down all the assets in the Tower Master’s name, Yuri should also take the position, but Yuri stubbornly resisted.
His reason was simple.
[If I become the Tower Master, I’ll have more annoying tasks!]
It was a rather exasperating reason, but it was understandable since the one trying to pass it on felt the same way.
‘Grandpa Colin just wants to leave and enjoy a leisurely life under the guise of magical training.’
In any case, Colin and Yuri were in a battle of spear and shield, and so far, Yuri was winning.
“Stop dodging the question. Whose letter is it?”
Yuri pressed for an answer to his earlier question. I shrugged.
“Who else would I exchange letters with? It’s Yujin.”
Yuri frowned and wrapped his arms around my shoulders.
“I should go to Esrenche and scold Yujin. Why is he causing a ruckus by sending letters to my busy wife?”
“I’m not that busy, you know? And what’s wrong with a letter?”
“Why did he put so many flowers in it? His intentions seem suspicious.”
“Yuri.”
When he kept finding fault, I called his name in a stern tone, and he pouted. Then, in a sulky voice, he muttered.
“I can’t help feeling jealous.”
“Jealous…”
We were already married, so what was there to be jealous about?
I brushed my hair back and turned my head, catching sight of Yuri’s soft lips.
A grown man pouting like a fish wasn’t annoying at all; it was just cute. I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
“…I can’t live.”
“What?”
“I’m saying I’ve got rose-colored glasses on.”
Even his whining seemed cute, so what could I do about it?
I put the letter down and brushed Yuri’s hair back. Instantly, he perked up and leaned in closer, like a well-behaved puppy.
“That’s right. Titi thinks I’m the cutest in the world.”
Yuri’s eyes curved into crescent moons. It was a smile that made it impossible to refuse any request.
‘He always smiles more beautifully when he’s being mischievous.’
I remembered how much trouble that smile had caused me last night. I pouted and rubbed the corners of Yuri’s eyes.
“These days, it feels like you know that fact well and are taking advantage of it, which bothers me a bit.”
“How am I taking advantage of Titi? I’m always the weaker one in front of Titi.”
What kind of weak person is like that in bed…
I thought of a retort but kept my mouth shut, fearing it would backfire on me. Just last week, I had made such a retort and ended up being dragged to bed with the words, “Let’s see about that.”
‘I might be fooled once, but not twice.’
As I considered this, I turned my head. Yuri kissed my exposed cheek and whispered as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder again.
“Isn’t it strange to love someone? Even if I become the weaker one, I don’t feel bad at all. Instead, I want to lower my gaze and take care of even the smallest things about you.”
His words were touching, but I knew they were also a trap. If I nodded now, he would surely drag me back to the room, claiming he needed to find out what else was lacking.
I gently removed his arm from my shoulder, setting a boundary without making him feel disappointed.
“Still, you can’t just stay by my side all the time. You have to handle your responsibilities at the Magic Tower to be a wonderful husband.”
When I didn’t fall for his coaxing despite several attempts, Yuri pouted again.
“I’m handling them responsibly, you know? It’s just that Titi is the workaholic.”
“I don’t think that’s quite true.”
“No, Titi is very diligent. You even spread that diligence to those around you. Haven’t you noticed how busy the Magic Tower has become since you arrived?”
“Is that so?”
I tilted my head in curiosity.
‘As Yuri said, I did start a lot of projects.’
Infusing magic into flowers had become a training method, leading to all sorts of magical flowers being produced at the Magic Tower. Then, it felt wasteful to enjoy them only within the tower, so I started selling them at my flower shop.
After that, we naturally began selling other artifacts. As people could view items in a neat shop through a catalog, they started seeking more artifacts.
Then a product as popular as a blue rose emerged. It was an artifact in the form of a choker.
Due to an incident with my father, I couldn’t wear necklaces with metal chains. So, I wore the tracking artifact Yuri gave me as a bracelet, but since my wrist often came into contact with things, the string broke once.
‘I really cried then. It was Yuri’s first gift to me, and I thought I had lost it.’
Fortunately, I didn’t lose the magically imbued stone. But wearing it as a bracelet again made me anxious about a repeat incident. That’s when I thought of the choker.
Using lace seemed like it would be aesthetically pleasing.
‘I didn’t expect it to become so popular among young ladies. I just made it because I didn’t want to lose it.’
Later, as I ran the shop, regular customers who learned that my choker was an artifact started ordering similar ones.
[I was worried about what might happen when I went out. But it’s perfect since it matches dresses and is a location-tracking artifact!]
I could manage making one or two, but beyond that, it was challenging. However, the orders kept increasing, and I eventually had to hire artisans. Finding workshops wasn’t difficult.
Artifacts that were previously ignored by young nobles or ladies due to design issues saw demand double as intricate crafting became possible.
‘The shop’s scale grew rapidly.’
I didn’t expect the business to expand this much.
But with so many mages at the Magic Tower, I had to work hard to make a living.
“It was just too quiet before.”
At my response, Yuri narrowed his eyes.
“…I should have just handed you a lot of money when you first said you wanted to earn a lot.”
“What did you say?”
“Nothing.”
Yuri, who had been mumbling to himself mischievously, whistled nonchalantly when I asked him to repeat.
I glared at him briefly before putting Yujin’s letter back in the envelope. Then I moved on to the other letters.
Most were requests for artifact production, while the rest were invitations to events for the next Tower Master and his wife, which was me.
‘I’ll just ignore the invitations.’
With magic being monopolized by the Magic Tower, there was no need to actively seek out other nobles like a salesperson. In fact, less exposure was better for selling high-end artifacts.
As I went through the letters one by one, a thick red letter remained. Yuri, who was leaning against the chair looking at the letters with me, sighed through his nose.
“It’s a letter from the imperial palace.”
“Indeed. It’s from Her Highness the Crown Princess.”
Rosemary had given birth to a son, just like in the previous life. About three months had passed since then, and she hadn’t fully recovered, so she wasn’t participating in social activities, only exchanging letters occasionally.
‘Is this an invitation to the palace?’
Now that it had been about 100 days since the child was born, it was time to invite acquaintances.
Thinking that, I opened the letter, only to find unexpected content inside.
I handed the letter to Yuri.
“Yuri, I think you should see this.”
