Chapter 6 (Part 1)
When she arrived at the agreed location, she saw Ian waiting for her, just as she expected.
Seeing his face made her anger surge, but Cecilia suppressed it and asked in the calmest voice possible.
“You’re the one who made it so I couldn’t leave, aren’t you, Priest?”
“I wish to extend the contract.”
Instead of answering, Ian stated what he wanted, and Cecilia frowned at his words.
“Extend it?”
“Yes. I need you.”
Hearing such easily misunderstood words made her heart race for a moment, but Cecilia forced herself to suppress the feeling. She knew all too well that his words didn’t mean he had romantic feelings for her.
“I already refused. How could you resort to such cowardly actions?”
“I know it was cowardly. I also tried to endure without you, but I realized I couldn’t. So, please, just give me 50 more days.”
Why does he keep saying things that sound like love confessions, things that others could easily misunderstand…
Cecilia wanted to immediately say no, but Ian’s pleading expression was so filled with melancholy that she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
His sorrowful gaze almost weakened her resolve, but she clenched her fists tightly, determined not to lose her composure.
“I’m sorry. I’ve already helped you for over two months. I think that’s more than enough.”
It was obvious how things would go if she accepted his proposal. If she agreed now, she would probably be unable to refuse his requests in the future and would be dragged along endlessly.
I can’t let that happen.
No matter how much she thought about it, she felt that getting further entangled with him would only lead to disaster. Before her heart grew any weaker, she needed to escape from him.
Recalling the moments when she had been deeply troubled because of Ian, Cecilia steeled her resolve.
“What am I supposed to do if you leave me?”
But Ian continued to shake her resolve.
“Find another woman to help you.”
“How could you say that to me? Who was the one who first laid hands on my body…?”
When Cecilia responded coldly, Ian began to plead with her, his clear eyes resembling those of a deer.
Why did he look so seductive, even with tears welling up in his eyes?
Cecilia wondered if she had momentarily fallen under some kind of wicked spell.
That man was undoubtedly a devil in the guise of an angel. After all, the devil’s temptations were always sweet…
Cecilia lowered her head, trying not to look at Ian’s face, but it was no use. The moment his sweet voice reached her ears, she realized she wouldn’t be able to coldly reject him any longer.
In the end, Cecilia surrendered, looking at Ian with a defeated expression.
“Fine, I’ll help you.”
“Thank you.”
Once he got what he wanted, Ian smiled softly, as if the tears in his eyes earlier had never existed. Seeing his smile, Cecilia finally felt a small sense of relief.
“But what if your insomnia isn’t cured within 50 days?”
There was still a problem. What would happen if his insomnia persisted even after 50 days? Cecilia worried that Ian might resort to more underhanded tactics like this.
“There are still 30 days left after that.”
Ian shamelessly replied.
“And then?”
“Then there will be 20 days left.”
“And after the 20 days, when the final 10 days are over, will I finally be able to return home?”
“If my insomnia isn’t cured, you can stay for another 30 days.”
“What do you mean? Why would another 30 days start again?”
Cecilia looked at Ian with a confused expression.
“If necessary, I can come up with a reason. There are devotees who have been staying at the temple for various events, not just the 100th-anniversary celebration. The longest stay so far is nearly 10 years.”
“Are you saying they’ve been donating large sums of money for 10 years?”
“Special devotees are selected, and they don’t have to make donations. So you, too, can stay without making any donations.”
The more she listened, the more absurd it sounded. He was essentially saying that she couldn’t leave until his insomnia was cured.
“Even if I’m selected as a special devotee, can I return home whenever I want?”
“No. Without the temple’s permission, you cannot leave. If you break the rules, you will be summoned back to the temple and confined in the isolation chamber.”
“You’re joking, right?”
“I’m speaking sincerely. Oh, but I have no intention of forcing you. For now, I’m simply asking you to stay by my side for 50 days and help me.”
Ian’s voice was gentle, but his words carried a veiled threat. Fifty days, he said, but if his insomnia didn’t improve, he would probably find some excuse to keep her there indefinitely.
Isn’t this tyranny?
The more she talked to him, the more Cecilia felt like she was being scammed. At this moment, the man standing before her didn’t seem like a holy priest but rather a fallen angel consumed by greed.
“Why are you doing this to me? I’ve already helped you enough.”
Unable to hold back any longer, Cecilia raised her voice in frustration.
“You’ve already made me someone who can’t live without you, so how can you say such things to me?”
Ian, however, looked at her with an expression of injustice. Once again, he spoke words that anyone else would misunderstand, and Cecilia’s clueless heart began to race.
At the same time, she felt as though she had done something terribly wrong. His deep voice, which echoed in her mind, sounded almost like divine will.
“Please refrain from saying things that others might misunderstand.”
Knowing he didn’t mean it, Cecilia tried to maintain a proper distance from him.
“I’m just trying to tell you how much I need you.”
Goodness.
His sorrowful gaze, his soft voice—he was so alluring that she almost found herself agreeing to whatever he wanted. Her head was spinning.
Cecilia immediately looked down. She thought it might help if she didn’t look at him.
But even just having him near her made her heart race uncontrollably. What should she do about this man who shook her to her core?
Cecilia cautiously glanced up at Ian’s face. His gaze was still fixed on her, his deep, dark eyes holding her in place.
Seeing that, she resolved not to be swayed by his words, but at the same time, a subtle hope began to rise within her.
Could it be that he has feelings for me?
She wasn’t expecting much—just a faint glimmer of hope. Cecilia decided to ask.
“Do you perhaps like me? Is that why you keep holding onto me?”
“Ah…”
Ian lowered his head deeply. Though she couldn’t see his face, she could tell he was troubled. After a moment of silence, he hesitated before speaking.
“I apologize if I gave you the wrong impression.”
Of course, I’m nothing more than someone who agreed to help him treat his insomnia—a contractual relationship, nothing more, nothing less.
Realizing that she was no different from the other ladies, Cecilia felt her heart sink.
Surely, he wasn’t deliberately toying with her feelings. He was just a pure man who had awakened to his desires and was acting on instinct.
Even so, realizing her mistake made Cecilia furious.
A pure priest? Nonsense! That man was undoubtedly a devil with a beautiful face.
Why does he keep making me misunderstand? If he doesn’t like me, couldn’t he just ask another lady for help? Why does he keep holding onto me when I’m trying to move on?
Tears welled up in her eyes, but Cecilia held them back. Crying now would only make her feel pathetic.
“Please ask another woman for help. I won’t help you anymore.”
Cecilia firmly expressed her thoughts in a resolute tone.
“Are you asking me to use another woman’s hands?”
At that moment, Ian’s eyes turned bright red. Even his ears flushed, indicating that merely proposing such an absurd suggestion had brought him immense shame.
If this had happened before she heard his refusal, Cecilia might have weakened at the sight of Ian again, but not now. His clear, pure eyes only fueled her anger.
“Yes. There are plenty of women who desire your body. So, choose one of them.”
“I refuse.”
“Why not?”
“I want you to help me. I don’t want other women.”
Cecilia answered as if this had nothing to do with her, but Ian stubbornly persisted without providing any reason.
Is it because he doesn’t want others to know about his indecent behavior?
Cecilia thought Ian was clinging to her because he didn’t want anyone else to discover his shameful secret. He completely disregarded her feelings in the process.
What a selfish man!
She could no longer tolerate the self-centered behavior of this man. No matter how handsome he was, Cecilia’s patience had its limits.
As her endurance wore thin, she became more defiant. If he was going to beg like this, she might as well help him properly and see it through to the end.
In truth, Cecilia had been thinking about how to cure Ian’s insomnia while helping him.
His insomnia improved every time she helped him release his desires. That meant… it was highly likely his insomnia stemmed from repressed s*xual urges.
Was it because of his vow of chastity? Was his body too weak to contain such overwhelming desires?
Although she didn’t know the exact reason, Cecilia believed that the temporary relief of his insomnia followed by its recurrence was because he hadn’t fully released his desires yet.
If that was the case, the conclusion was clear. The only way to resolve it was through s*xual intercourse between a man and a woman. If he released all the desires he had been suppressing, his insomnia might be truly cured.
“Just close your eyes and have s*x with me once!”
SadBeech
Yo I hate him for holding her hostage like this. Like if you’re holding someone hostage at least make the living conditions good. She’s miserable and being used as a s*x tool and can’t even leave? If I were her I would’ve just run away.
