Chapter 2 – One Night (Part 1)
Robin Tanner.
So, the Earl Tanner’s young Earl was a perfect man in many ways.
Platinum blonde hair and blue eyes resembling sapphires. Tall with a good physique, he was always unrivaled in the social circles of the Kingdom of Plen. Not only was his appearance outstanding, but his personal abilities were also exceptional. He had stood out since his academy days, mentioned repeatedly by the king. Rumors that he was already handling the affairs of the Earl’s family with Earl Tanner were no secret.
Even the meticulous Earl Tanner acknowledged him, which speaks volumes about Robin Tanner’s capabilities.
Earl Tanner, being such a strict person, would not have let it slide just because he was his son.
In the Plen social circle, Robin Tanner was an object of admiration for those with sons and a subject of adoration for those with daughters.
But there was a reason beyond those external advantages that made him considered a perfect husband material. The Tanner family did not have messy inheritance disputes like other families.
Since the first head of the Tanner family, they always had only one wife and did not keep other women in the household. Even if there was a mistress, she was kept outside and enjoyed lightly, never causing disorder in the family.
That alone was enough to call him the best husband material, and moreover, he currently only had a younger sister. The undisputed perfect heir of the Earl’s family. Even his sister married into the Duke of Perfe family, one of the three pillars supporting the Kingdom of Plen, and became a Duchess.
A noble among nobles.
Robin Tanner was a man worth dreaming about for any woman of marriageable age who desired to climb higher.
But not for Olivie.
Robin Tanner was not the right match for her, and Olivie knew her place well.
Since childhood, Olivie had heard countless times that it was important to know her place.
Moreover,
‘Your brother makes me uncomfortable. I feel like I have to kneel and beg even though I haven’t done anything wrong.’
Their personalities didn’t match either.
Olivie didn’t like men who were as cold as he was.
Of course, there was that one time during her debutante when she begged him for a kiss, but that was entirely out of obligation, not by her own choice.
But now.
‘Why.’
How did it come to this?
The two of them alone.
‘How did this happen?’
Lying in the bathtub of Robin’s private mansion, Olivie turned her head to look up at the ceiling.
The bathroom, illuminated by candlelight, was so quiet that she could hear the sound of water droplets falling from her fingertips as they clutched the edge of the tub. The stillness sharpened her senses.
Maybe that’s why.
The light seeping through the crack of the door leading to the bedroom felt particularly bright.
Whether the bathroom was unusually dark or the bedroom light was especially bright, she couldn’t tell.
‘It feels like I’m stepping into the unknown.’
With her head tilted to the side, she stared intently at the light.
She couldn’t begin to imagine what would happen after she left the darkness and stepped into that light.
To be honest, she had no idea.
If she tried to piece together her vague thoughts, it would simply be spending one night cleanly and then returning to being strangers.
‘Yes, that’s all there is to it.’
Except for the fact that he was Robin Tanner, he wasn’t much different from the other men she had met before.
Just one night with no lingering attachments.
Staring at the creeping light, Olivie tightly gripped the smooth edge of the tub and stood up with determination.
Since she had come this far, she could only hope to get a good night’s sleep. She slipped on her robe and opened the bathroom door. The light that flooded in felt overwhelming, perhaps because she had grown accustomed to the darkness.
“Is bright light your preference?”
The light was unusually bright for spending the night.
As Olivie frowned at the light that seemed like midday, she turned her head and saw Robin, sitting casually on the head of the bed, reviewing documents. Wearing thin gold-rimmed glasses, Robin turned his head when he sensed her presence.
“Ah.”
He removed his glasses as he scanned her loosely tied robe, wet hair, and face flushed from the warmth.
Unconsciously swallowing hard, she bit the soft flesh inside her mouth.
He only took off his glasses.
But just that alone made her body tense up, causing discomfort in her lower abdomen.
This was the first time she had ever felt such tension. As Olivie tilted her head back and took a deep breath, Robin reached out a hand toward her.
“Come here.”
His familiar, affectionate gesture, as if calling an old lover, made her heart feel like it was about to burst. Olivie’s face turned embarrassingly red.
‘With it this bright.’
Everything will be visible.
As she glanced at the candlestick, Robin extended his hand a little further toward her.
“Olivie.”
When she turned her head at his call, Robin extended his hand even further. With his unwavering gaze fixed on her, Olivie took a deep breath and grabbed his hand.
Her wet fingertips seemed to cling to his dry ones.
Even the warmth subtly melting into his hand.
As she felt his body heat warm up under her touch, Olivie bit her lower lip lightly. She was warmer than usual, and he was much colder than her body normally was.
Recalling the sensation of his cool, dry touch sinking into her, her breath quickened.
After spending one night with him, she would cool down in some way.
Wanting to quickly escape this tension, Olivie closed the distance between them, just as he intended.
Between his legs, she moved her toes closer, dragging them with a faint sound, until she was pressed right up against his body. Robin’s eyes wavered slightly, almost imperceptibly. She could feel the heat in his gaze.
His eyes were on her.
The cold, piercing look he had, like the chill of the night air, shifted, and in that fleeting moment of warmth, Olivie swallowed her breath.
The thought that he could be flustered or shaken because of her gave her a peculiar thrill, and a sense of pride rose from deep within her heart.
She wanted to fluster him even more.
She had always been the only one flustered, but now she wanted to see his wavering gaze a little longer, so she pushed her right knee a bit more inward, between his legs.
But then.
‘Hmm?’
She furrowed her brow slightly at the strange sensation against the inside of his thigh where her knee touched.
Something felt off.
‘Is this even possible?’
No, I must have felt something wrong.
‘A snake inside his pants?’
She stifled a laugh at the absurd thought and then subtly lowered her head to look at what her knee was now touching.
“……”
To be precise, something thick stretched down to below his left thigh. In the unusually bright surroundings, the distinct shadowy outline made Olivie shake her head sideways.
‘Could it be because he’s aroused?’
But even if he was aroused, that size…
‘I don’t think I can handle that.’
No matter how much she tried to avoid looking, her eyes kept drifting to that shadow. Olivie swallowed.
She prided herself on having met quite a few men.
So she thought she could handle someone like Robin Tanner.
But…
‘That thickness…’
Olivie swallowed hard, leaving the rest of her thoughts unspoken.
‘It’s my first time seeing something like this.’
Even from just the outline, she could tell it was too thick for her small hands to grasp completely.
And if she thought about putting that thick thing in her mouth, her lips would surely tear at the edges. But the idea of something like that splitting her apart below…
“……”
Trying to fluster him, she ended up scaring herself, causing her to flinch and take a slight step back.
She was curious, but the sheer thickness of his member made her nervous. As she swallowed her breath, following her gaze, Robin briefly lowered his head and then chuckled before rising from his seat.
“Ah.”
In an instant, the height difference between them reversed. As Olivie tilted her head back, Robin, who had closed the distance she had just retreated, gently lifted her chin with his fingertips.
“Do you want to run away now?”
“……”
Olivie’s eyes wavered.
“It’s not too late.”
Robin glanced at the door and licked his lips. His already red lips, now moist, looked even redder and more alluring.
‘Demon.’
He was undoubtedly a demon, one who could grasp and shake a person’s heart.
Even now, he pretended to give her the upper hand, but Olivie knew.
He was the type of person who would never lose control, no matter the situation.
Even now, though he was telling her to run away…
“If you don’t run away now, you’ll regret it.”
He was making it impossible for her to do so.
Though he hadn’t taken a single step closer, his gaze made it impossible for her to move away.
A gaze filled with expectation, stirring her up.
Breathless, Olivie let out a clouded sign in front of those blue eyes.
Having come this far, she had no intention of retreating.
‘Regret.’
She didn’t know what kind of regret he was talking about, but if things got tricky, she could always pretend to be drunk.
Because she intended to erase this night entirely, along with any regrets that might come from this moment.
“I won’t regret it.”
