Chapter 13 (Part 2)
It wasn’t until late in the afternoon that the two finally woke up.
As soon as they opened their eyes and met each other’s gaze, they exchanged light smiles and kissed without hesitation.
When Leonardo’s hand began creeping up to her chest, Grace slapped it away and said,
“Food. Eating is the most important thing. You need to eat before you can do anything else.”
Leonardo, marveling at how Grace could talk about food while looking at such an eager and handsome face, stepped back and asked,
“Sir Grace, do you prefer meat, or do you prefer me?”
At his words, Grace flinched.
Startled by her reaction, Leonardo also flinched, covering his face with his hand and extending his arm to cover her mouth.
“No, no. Don’t answer that. I don’t want to be someone less important than meat.”
Grace, feeling mischievous at Leonardo’s reaction, was about to say something but stopped, narrowing her eyes as if she found something strange.
Then she exaggeratedly shrugged her shoulders.
“Well, of course—”
“Ahhh, I can’t hear you. Ahhhh—”
Leonardo began making meaningless noises while covering his ears.
This behavior was so unlike him, and so comical, that Grace burst into loud laughter.
Seeing her laugh so heartily, Leonardo suddenly spoke as if he had just remembered something.
“Oh, I cast a contraceptive spell on you while you were sleeping.”
“—Huh? There’s a spell like that?”
Her tone held no hint of displeasure, and Leonardo nodded.
He explained the spell in a way that was easy to understand.
“To put it simply, it’s a spell that kills any foreign cells still alive inside the body.”
Grace blinked at his explanation.
He made it sound simple, but identifying which cells were “foreign” and killing only those didn’t seem easy at all.
“That doesn’t sound like an easy spell.”
“No, it’s not. That’s why only high-ranking nobles can receive it.”
“And you, Sir, can perform such a spell so casually?”
At her words, Leonardo nodded with a self-assured expression. His attitude was so confident that Grace stared at him blankly for a moment before letting out a laugh.
Then, as if approving, she nodded and rubbed her stomach lightly as she spoke.
“But, are you going to starve me?”
Perhaps realizing he had forgotten something, Leonardo told her to wait and hurriedly left the room.
Watching him leave, Grace stretched her arms and slowly got out of bed.
“Ugh, this feels weird.”
She still couldn’t get used to the sensation of something dripping down every time she moved.
Walking awkwardly, Grace headed to the bathroom and called out to Leonardo, who was likely in the kitchen.
“I’m going to wash up!”
“Yes, okay.”
Thinking she might finally get a peaceful night’s sleep tonight, Grace opened the bathroom door.
Looking around, she saw the clothes she had left there the previous day still in the basket.
Seeing them made her realize once again what she had done.
‘I have no regrets.’
She had vaguely thought that if she came here, she might end up being intimate with Leonardo again, just like last time.
That’s why, when it happened, she was able to act so decisively.
‘If Caleb finds out, it’ll be chaos. And my parents, too.’
But unless they saw what happened here with their own eyes, neither Caleb nor her parents would ever know.
Grace took off her clothes and stood in front of the mirror.
Her fair skin was dotted with red marks.
Those marks were proof of how persistently Leonardo had tormented her and how much pleasure she had experienced.
Leonardo’s body probably bore similar marks.
‘Let’s wash up quickly and get out. He might start spouting nonsense again.’
Remembering how Leonardo had misunderstood her last time after overhearing her talking to herself, Grace carefully washed herself.
When she picked up her clothes, a bottle of contraceptive pills she had brought rolled out.
Seeing it, Grace let out a small laugh.
‘That’s right. I really came prepared.’
She recalled running around trying to get the pills without Becky or anyone else noticing.
But to think that such a thing could be done with magic—it was something she hadn’t even considered.
‘…Casting a contraceptive spell for me. Ain’t that thoughtful?’
Grace picked up the bottle and ran her fingers over its surface, letting out a small laugh.
Thoughtful? That didn’t suit the man who had just covered his ears and made strange noises because he didn’t want to hear what she had to say.
As she looked at the small bottle, Grace tried to put it in her pocket but ended up dropping it again.
“Ugh, why does it keep falling?”
Since she wasn’t dressed yet, Grace grumbled, finding it too much trouble to walk over and pick it up.
‘I’ll put on my clothes first and then pick it up.’
With that thought, Grace turned her back and began getting dressed.
She debated whether the underwear she had brought was odd or whether it would be inappropriate if something happened later.
Lost in thought, she didn’t hear the sound of the door opening.
Normally, she would have gotten dressed quickly and left, but by the time she finished and turned around—
“Eek!”
She saw Leonardo leaning against the doorframe.
And he was holding the contraceptive pill bottle she had just dropped.
Grace’s face turned bright red in an instant. She opened her mouth to say something but couldn’t get any words out as Leonardo deliberately brought the bottle to his lips and said,
“So, Sir Grace you were looking forward to spending the night with me as well.”
“That, uh, no, that’s not—”
“In that case, I’ll have to make sure to do my best.”
Leonardo smiled, his eyes curving gently.
That smile looked so seductive that Grace instinctively took a step back.
A vague mix of anticipation and anxiety crept up, as if he might pounce on her again at any moment.
Grace unconsciously swallowed hard.
“The food is ready, but you weren’t coming out, so I came to check. I didn’t expect to find such an adorable surprise.”
“That’s not it!”
Grace desperately tried to explain, but Leonardo let out a small laugh.
Then he extended his hand to her and said,
“The meat you like is getting cold. Let’s go.”
Letting out a deep breath, Grace narrowed her eyes and glared at him.
Taking his hand as she approached him, she grumbled,
“Can’t you stop teasing me?”
“Teasing? I’m always serious.”
Leonardo grinned and tightened his grip on her hand, as if to prove his point.
Grace looked at him holding her hand and let out a small laugh, as if she understood what he meant.
“…What is all this?”
When Grace entered the sitting room, she was startled to see the table.
It was laden with a feast far more elaborate than anything she had seen before.
Grace even glanced around, as if to confirm whether she was still in the marquis’ residence in the capital or at the shelter.
“Is this also one of your certifications?”
Pointing at the food, Grace asked, and Leonardo, as if wondering why she was asking, sat down and replied,
“You must have known already.”
“Well, yes, but still.”
Following him, Grace sat down and was once again surprised to see the formal dining utensils laid out.
Picking up a salad fork, she speared a piece of lettuce and said,
“This must have taken a lot of time to prepare, but you finished so quickly?”
“You took longer than expected, so I ended up making more while I waited.”
The word “you” sounded unexpectedly sweet, and Grace, holding the fork in her mouth, stared at Leonardo.
Seeing her sitting there with the fork in her mouth, Leonardo thought she resembled a rabbit hiding in the bushes, its ears perked up.
He added,
“You need to eat well to have the strength to be devoured.”
Before he could finish speaking, Grace’s expression twisted.
She stabbed the lettuce on her plate irritably and said bluntly,
“Pervert. Is that all you ever think about, Sir Leo?”
In response, Leonardo placed the contraceptive pill bottle on the table and replied,
“I don’t want to hear that from someone who brought this.”
Grace’s face turned crimson as she glared at him, holding her utensils tightly.
Leonardo smiled at her and elegantly sliced his meat with a knife as he continued,
“Let’s eat. We don’t know what lies ahead.”
At his words, Grace pouted and began cutting her meat as well.
After slicing about half of it, she suddenly said, as if realizing something,
“Didn’t we drink the potion in the morning and not once after that?”
“Yes, that’s correct.”
“Shouldn’t our bodies have changed by now?”
It was true.
From the morning when their intimacy ended until now, their bodies hadn’t changed even once. Last night, during their prolonged time together, they had to drink the potion at least twice. But since drinking it for the last time in the morning and eating breakfast, their bodies had remained unchanged for at least half a day.
However, Leonardo, looking completely unbothered, casually sliced his meat and said,
“Ah, Hymen contacted me this morning.”
“He did? Why? What did he say?”
“He said the sorcery circle engraved in the shelter must have activated. If it’s working properly, our bodies won’t change while we’re here.”
