Chapter 8 – Confession (Part 1)
Did I give him false hope for no reason?
That evening, before going to bed, Sophia regretted her conversation with Young Master Valkeres. The problem was that she had given a response close to giving false hope when her heart momentarily softened. Given her current state of mind, she could never accept him, so she felt she had answered wrongly and kept worrying about it.
No matter how much she thought about it, she felt she had misspoken.
So, tomorrow, I’ll send a letter saying I was short-sighted. Will it be enough to apologize and say I’m sorry?
It seemed best to send a letter to Young Master Valkeres, who had left satisfied with her answer, to honestly express her feelings. That way, the emotional damage would be less.
Having reached that conclusion on her own, she was about to fall asleep when she heard a suspicious noise from the window.
Since she had never heard such a sound before, Sophia felt something was amiss and got up from her seat. As she moved towards the window to confirm the source of the noise, she saw a shadow of a person.
Huh?
Thinking she might have seen wrong, she was about to take a closer look at the window when suddenly, someone appeared from behind and covered Sophia’s mouth.
“Mm!”
Sophia struggled to break free, but the grip on her was too strong for her to escape.
“Shh! I’ll let you go if you promise not to scream.”
Just as she was about to struggle more fiercely, a familiar voice stopped her movements.
“K-Killian?”
Once her mouth was free, Sophia whispered in a small voice. As she turned around, Killian’s figure was clearly visible, outlined by the moonlight.
“How did you get here?”
How did he know to come here?
Though it had been less than a month since they parted, it felt as long as a year. Before he left, she didn’t feel this longing, but with everything happening lately, it seemed her feelings for him had grown.
Feeling glad, Sophia also wanted to run to him, but she held back. There was also a part of her that wanted to pour out words of resentment.
A man she wanted to hate but couldn’t.
Sophia silently stared blankly at Killian.
“Aren’t you glad to see me? I rushed back after hearing some unbelievable news.”
Killian’s eyes gradually narrowed, seemingly displeased with her expression.
“Is it okay for you to be here like this?”
Sophia maintained a calm demeanor. There was no need to show emotions to a man who was no longer her husband.
“I’ve only stepped away for a bit and must return.”
“Why did you come?”
“I couldn’t stand it any longer, so I came secretly.”
The moment she saw Killian’s cold eyes, Sophia realized he was angry. His voice, so cold it seemed to freeze the air, pierced her ears chillingly.
When Sophia couldn’t say anything, he spoke again.
“Did you plan to abandon me and get divorced?”
Who is abandoning whom?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but there seems to be a misunderstanding.”
Sophia barely managed to open her mouth to answer.
“What misunderstanding?”
His gaze was so intense and fiery that it scared her. Sophia took a few steps back, but each time, Killian closed the distance.
“You were planning to divorce and go to another man, yet you speak of misunderstandings.”
When his red eyes glinted, she felt an illusion of being devoured by him.
What on earth did he hear to make him say such strange things?
“I never did that. And aren’t we already divorced? Whatever I do now has nothing to do with you.”
Who should be angry right now? After being betrayed first, who is he to be angry?
Sophia, too, was filled with anger, so she drew a line with Killian. She couldn’t understand why he was saying such things when he was the one planning to marry another woman.
“Nothing to do with me…. Hah.”
Then Killian laughed as if he couldn’t believe it. His smile was so fierce that it felt like the surroundings would freeze just by looking at it.
“You didn’t think I’d just watch that happen, did you? Who said you could!”
His voice was cold and filled with anger, his gaze sharp. His intense fury was enough to make her tremble with fear.
But at the same time, it sparked a curious thought. His attitude was close to jealousy.
No, that’s impossible.
The hope that briefly surfaced in Sophia’s mind vanished instantly when she recalled Killian’s conversation with Lady Aeri.
She was about to ask why he was acting this way, but Killian didn’t give her a chance to respond.
“I’ve held back for a while, but I can’t anymore. Let’s see if your body feels the same way.”
“What do you mean… Mmph!”
Before she could speak, his lips silenced hers. She should firmly reject him, but the kiss was so soft and sweet that she couldn’t.
His tongue slipped into her open mouth, exploring every corner. As he sucked hard enough to tilt her head back, their breaths mingled, entwining their tongues.
The kiss was so intense that it numbed her senses, and Sophia’s struggling body gradually lost strength, while Killian’s hand wrapped around her waist, bringing their bodies together.
Just when her head tilted back, their lips parted. Although it seemed he had kissed her to his heart’s content, Killian’s face still showed signs of anxiety.
Why does he have that look in his eyes?
As she gazed at him in a daze, he grabbed her dress and tore it apart as if his patience had run out.
“Ah…!”
“Shh!”
Sophia was so startled that she tried to scream, but Killian covered her mouth, muffling the sound into his palm.
Her white skin was exposed in an instant, and though she hurriedly tried to cover herself with her hands, it was futile.
“Your body carries an unpleasant scent. It seems the smell of that man’s flesh has lingered on you from earlier.”
Killian threw the tattered dress to the floor. His actions were rough and fierce, filled with rage. Was he referring to Young Master Valkeres?
The hug lasted only about five seconds, so there was no way his scent lingered on Sophia’s body. Besides, she had already changed clothes.
But why…?
At that moment, she met Killian’s eyes, which shone with a chilling light, sending shivers down her spine. His figure, shadowed by the moonlight, appeared somehow eerie.
Eek.
Frightened, Sophia tried to back away, but Killian caught her.
“I instinctively reacted harshly because I sensed another man’s scent. I’m sorry. I find it hard to suppress my emotions when it comes to you.”
Though Killian quickly apologized, it didn’t erase her fear. Still scared, she tried to move her feet to escape him, but Killian’s hand, which had moved from her waist to her pelvis and down her thigh, pushed aside her underwear and touched her private area.
“No, don’t… mmph.”
A short breath escaped Sophia’s lips, but Killian quickly silenced her with his own. Every breath was swallowed into his mouth. She tried to push his hand away, but when his fingers slipped inside the part he was stimulating, she couldn’t.
Her body, already accustomed to him, trembled just from his touch. She struggled to push him away, but Killian only wrapped her waist tighter. Trapped against his solid body, Sophia had to accept his kiss.
The kiss deepened, and just as Sophia’s breath filled up, their lips parted. However, the movement of his hand stimulating her lower body continued.
“Hah!”
The intimate area seemed to welcome the stronger stimulation, secreting fluids. Killian’s lips curled into a faint smirk as he saw this.
“You welcome me with just a slight touch. Were you planning to go to another man despite being so accustomed to me?”
The movement of his hand stirring inside became more intense, and only moans escaped Sophia’s lips instead of answers. As her body seemed to melt under his touch, she clung to Killian’s sleeve, struggling to breathe.
“Pl-please stop. We’re not in that kind of relationship anymore…”
“What do you mean, not in that kind of relationship?”
At that moment, his red eyes gleamed fiercely. Instead of stopping the hand teasing her lower body, Killian inserted his tongue into her ear and licked it.
“Ahh.”
Chills ran through her entire body. The tongue that licked her ear and neck then moved to her collarbone.
“We-we’re divorced.”
Her body trembled as Sophia pushed Killian away, but he only came closer, pressing his lips firmly on her neck again.
“Hng.”
“We haven’t divorced. To be precise, only our Loden family and your Dveshi family told His Majesty they wanted a divorce.”
“We’re soon to be divorced. Weren’t you treating me well only out of obligation? So, don’t do this. You’re going to marry Lady Aeri.”
“That won’t happen.”
“I-I heard it myself, so how can you say that? Besides, everyone around says you like Lady Aeri.”
“I thought I clearly expressed my feelings last time…”
Killian paused for a moment and let out a deep sigh.
“Do I need to engrave my presence inside you so you won’t have unnecessary thoughts?”
Without giving her a chance to reply, Killian loosened his trousers and thrust inside her roughly. Pain filled her lower abdomen as he filled her instantly.
“Mm!”
He thrust so roughly that her body swayed.
Ah, it hurts.
Sophia tried to push Killian away, but his body was as solid as a rock and showed no sign of moving. Instead, he began to thrust his hips, pulling out halfway and then pushing back in roughly.
