CHAPTER 33 – Revelation (Part 2)
Dojun strode across the Chairman’s office with wide steps. Chairman Hwang sat at the head, with Vice Chairman and President Lee Jang-soo, and Sehyun lined at the side.
When he reached the front of the reception table, Dojun bowed lightly to Chairman Hwang and swept his eyes over the three of them.
“Take a seat first.”
Chairman Hwang said with a weary expression. What a mess for a Monday morning. Hearing that his cherished eldest grandson was having an affair with the prospective daughter-in-law of an executive made him doubt his ears. If not for his second son, Yeongchan, he wouldn’t have believed it.
Chairman Hwang Ilhyun sipped water to moisten his dry lips. Although he had shouted at Dojun in frustration, he thought there must be something his grandson wanted to say since he agreed to come up and talk.
Dojun sat opposite the Vice Chairman. Watching Yeongchan’s eyes widen in anger, he calmly leaned back in his seat and spoke.
“It’s an honor. The illustrious leaders of Hanseong are all gathered here.”
At Dojun’s words, Yeongchan’s face flushed red. Chairman Hwang couldn’t hide his displeasure either. With a stern face, Yeongchan scolded Dojun.
“Hwang Dojun! How dare you act so insolently here!”
“Exactly.”
Without giving the Vice Chairman a glance, Dojun looked straight at Chairman Hwang and spoke.
“What is this? Why are we gathered in the Group Chairman’s office? It’s embarrassing in front of the employees.”
“Is it true that you’re seeing Yoon Seoyeon?”
Chairman Hwang asked Dojun bluntly.
“Yes, I am.”
Dojun admitted it straightforwardly. Yeongchan exploded at this admission.
“See, Father! This is how he is! How disrespectful must he be to disregard the elders of the family like this!”
Ignoring Yeongchan’s outburst, Dojun questioned Chairman Hwang.
“So, what about it? Just because your grandson is dating someone, you call me in like this? I told you I can handle it myself.”
“Dating? Handling it? Father, look at his audacity!”
As Vice Chairman Hwang’s voice rose, Dojun, looking annoyed, picked his ear with his pinky finger.
Look at this guy.
Chairman Hwang chuckled inwardly, amused. Dojun’s demeanor reminded him of his eldest son, Yeong-guk, when he had to listen to useless scolding.
“Why does it have to be Yoon Seoyeon? You know she was supposed to marry Team Leader Lee, and you know what that means for both families within Hanseong Group.”
Chairman Hwang’s tone softened slightly as he addressed Dojun.
“Says who? The engagement was called off ages ago.”
Dojun looked Chairman Hwang straight in the eyes. Chairman Hwang’s gaze turned to President Lee Jang-soo.
“What do you mean, called off? Father, you saw them at the New Year’s gathering.”
Yeongchan, giving Dojun a disbelieving look, spoke up. Chairman Hwang, recalling the New Year’s gathering, turned to Sehyun.
“Team Leader Lee, explain. You would know best.”
Sehyun blinked his eyes. Dojun chuckled, and seeing this, Sehyun swallowed hard, adjusted his collar, and began to speak.
“Yes, Chairman. What happened was…”
Sehyun pondered where to start his explanation.
“Well, Yoon Seoyeon and I met at the Vice Chairman’s introduction in December two years ago, and around September of last year, we decided to make it official and get married…….”
“Cut the preamble.”
Dojun interrupted. The fist resting on Sehyun’s lap trembled.
“Hwang Dojun.”
Chairman Hwang warned, calling his name. Dojun looked at Chairman Hwang with indifference, his eyes emitting a strong light as if asking, “Why?” It was either shameless or fearless, at which Chairman Hwang chuckled internally.
Yeong-guk should see this expression of annoyance at being called for such trivial matters.
Chairman wanted to tell his son that his son was even worse than him.
“Let me rephrase. We decided to seriously consider marriage last September. But I made a mistake, and Yoon Seoyeon broke up with me. That was around late December.”
“You cheated.”
Dojun corrected Sehyun. Chairman Hwang tilted his head as if he didn’t know what that meant.
“Not a mistake, but an affair, right?”
Dojun asked looking at Sehyun. A cold sweat began to break out on Sehyun’s back.
“It wasn’t cheating. Well, some might see it that way, but I only wavered briefly. I realized my mistake and returned to my senses. Although she and I had conflicts, as you saw at the New Year’s gathering, she was almost back to me.”
Sehyun glanced at Dojun and continued.
“CEO Hwang Dojun showed interest in Yoon Seoyeon, and eventually, he took my fiancée away. This caused a lot of consternation among the adults in both families and what worries me most is……. Hanseong’s image and…….”
Dojun laughed.
Such grandiose words. You even thought about the image of the Hanseong Group.
Thinking it was a waste of time to listen to Sehyun’s nonsense, he decided to wrap it up. He turned to Chairman Hwang.
“Grandfather.”
Chairman Hwang raised his eyebrows at the informal address. Since entering college, Dojun rarely called him Grandfather in public.
“I like Yoon Seoyeon.”
Dojun smiled after making the statement. It was a shame that the party, Seoyeon herself, didn’t know anything about it, and the elders found out first.
“If I like her, what more is needed?”
Chairman Hwang chuckled in disbelief.
Where did that confidence come from?
He felt a sudden affection for Dojun, realizing he was soft on him.
“Father, this is happening because you spoil him! How can he be so brazen in front of the elders!”
The Vice Chairman shouted, veins bulging. Chairman Hwang waved him off and addressed Dojun.
“Regardless, it’s unacceptable. From what Team Leader Lee said, they aren’t even fully broken up. I can’t condone such an immoral relationship. What face would I show the executives?”
Dojun responded.
“I take it you’re okay with it as long as there are no problems?”
“That’s not what I meant.”
Before Chairman Hwang could clarify, Dojun stood up. He walked to the Chairman’s desk and picked up the phone. He pressed a button and spoke.
“Please bring a laptop, tablet, or anything that can play a file.”
Impossible.
Sehyun, startled, almost stood up but sat back down.
Calm down.
He told himself. He had anticipated that Seoyeon might give Hwang Dojun the recorded conversation.
I still could somehow spin that conversation as a mistake.
Chief Jang Jin-soo entered with a powered-on laptop. Dojun placed it on the coffee table, inserted a USB drive, and smirked at the Vice Chairman and President Lee Jang-soo, who both frowned deeply.
Enjoy the show.
When Dojun double-clicked the file, the video filled the screen.
“What is this? It’s nothing”
Yeongchan said with a scowl. The video showed reeds swaying in the wind along an autumn riverbank. The sounds of rustling and faint sucking noises could be heard.
Dojun tapped the keyboard to increase the volume. A woman’s moaning began to grow louder.
“Ah, ah, oppa, stop, it’s ticklish. Ah!”
“Oh, it feels so good. Yeah, call me ‘oppa’. Say it, Haewon. Say ‘oppa, Sehyun oppa’. Oh, your br*asts are so beautiful.”
Sehyun’s face turned ghostly white. President Lee Jang-soo, eyes wide open, stammered and stepped back. Yeongchan let out a curse. Dojun laughed and turned the volume up to the maximum. The sound from the laptop speakers was almost deafening.
“Ah, oppa, Sehyun oppa, I love you!”
“I love you too, Haewon. So much.”
At this point, President Lee stood up abruptly.
“Sit down.”
Dojun’s cold voice was overlapped by the woman’s moaning.
“Ah, oppa, not there, yes, there. Oh, oppa, it feels so good!”
“Oh, Haewon, why are you so tight? Say you love me, tell me who you belong to. Oh.”
The screen shook violently along with the reeds. Chairman Hwang turned his head, indicating that he had seen enough, and raised his hand to stop the video. Dojun shook his head and chuckled.
“Wait for the highlight.”
As soon as Dojun finished speaking, Sehyun’s voice was heard.
“I’m going to c*m, I’m going to c*m, okay?”
“What? Already?”
“Oh, Haewon, Haewon, I love you!”
“Ah…”
The woman let out a disappointed sound.
“Whew… Was it good for you?”
Sehyun’s satisfied voice was heard. Chairman Hwang finally spoke up.
“Enough. I understand, turn it off.”
Dojun pressed the stop button and addressed Chairman Hwang.
“If you’ll excuse yourself for a moment, I’ll take care of this.”
Chairman Hwang stood up with a stiff face, gave Yeongchan a disapproving look, and stormed out. The door slammed shut, causing Sehyun to flinch. Dojun turned to the remaining three and spoke.
“I’ll just tell two things, and let uncle take care of the rest.”
Dojun spoke calmly.
“Premature *jaculation is a medical condition. You should see a doctor.”
Sehyun and Jang-soo’s faces turned beet red.
“And I hope nothing from today’s meeting leaves this room, that Vice President Yoon’s family, especially Seoyeon, finds out.”
Dojun removed the USB and turned to leave. He paused and looked back as if he had remembered something.
“Uncle.”
Yeongchan looked up at Dojun.
“How are Minjun’s wedding preparations going?”
Yeongchan glared at him.
“Make sure they go well.”
Dojun smiled and closed the door. Just before it shut completely, he caught a glimpse of Sehyun cradling his head. Like father, like son, both are transparent in their intentions. As he walked towards the elevator, Dojun took out his phone.
***
Seoyeon was in her office, teaching the youngest employee, Jungwon, how to wrap a scarf around a tote bag handle.
“Align the center, then the right side first, like this.”
“Why does it always come undone when I do it?”
“It just takes practice. You’ll get the hang of it.”
Jungwon watched in admiration as Seoyeon skillfully tied the knot and tried to mimic her with a sample handle and a practice scarf.
“Tie it a bit tighter.”
As Seoyeon bent over to help Jungwon, Assistant Manager Chae So-hee called out to her.
“Manager Yoon, CEO Hwang is here.”
“What?”
Seoyeon asked, wondering if she meant Dojun.
“CEO Hwang Dojun said he came to see some ties. He said you agreed to assist him.”
When did I agree to that?
I’m making up appointments that don’t exist anymore. Thank goodness the VIP room was empty.
“Ah, yes. I’ll be right out. Please guide him to the VIP room.”
After instructing So-hee, Seoyeon stood up, checked her appearance, and walked out to meet Dojun. They met in the hallway, and Seoyeon bowed first.
“CEO, you’re here.”
Dojun nodded and spoke.
“I still haven’t bought the Chairman’s gift, so I came back.”
“Yes, please follow me. Would you like to see some ties?”
Opening the VIP room door, Seoyeon asked. Dojun entered and replied.
“Show me whatever you have.”
Seoyeon left for a moment then pulled out a tray and selected ties. Knowing Chairman Hwang’s preference for light blue, she pulled out a few in a similar shade and made sure to include other colors as well.
“CEO, I brought the ties.”
Seoyeon said, closing the VIP room door. She placed the tray on the table and sat on the single chair next to the long sofa where Dojun was seated.
“The Chairman usually prefers light blue tones. Since he has many of those, I also brought a few different colors. Light yellow suits him well, and so does mint. He looks good in pastel shades.”
As Seoyeon explained, laying out the ties, Dojun watched her quietly and then spoke.
“Yoon Seoyeon.”
“Yes.”
“Yoon Seoyeon.”
Seoyeon looked up at Dojun. As she pondered if she should respond, Dojun reached out.
“CEO, this is—”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Dojun grasped Seoyeon’s face and tilted her head. His hot lips descended upon her as if to consume her.
