“Kanin.”

“Beautiful.”

Kanin, who had gripped her ankle tightly, naturally settled between her legs. Suddenly having her legs spread, she blushed and tried to pull her body back. But as if to trap her, Kanin gripped her thigh tightly.

“Ugh.”

His firm fingers slowly stroked her thigh. Kanin’s eyes, looking down at her trembling flesh, were deeply subdued.

“You have no idea how much I’ve imagined this. Opening the lock of your heart and becoming one with you.”

“Really?”

She hadn’t expected Kanin to think that way about her, so she asked blankly. Kanin curled his lips and chuckled.

“You’d be surprised if you knew how dirty my thoughts were.”

“What? ……Ah!”

Kanin’s fingers tapped her tightly closed lower area as if knocking. Then he slowly inserted one knuckle into the trembling entrance.

“Digging in like this.”

“K-Kanin.”

Even she could feel her lower area trembling, not yet wet. Tensed up, she helplessly squeezed Kanin’s fingers.

Kanin chuckled lightly, as if amused, and moved his fingers slowly.

“I wanted to dig in like this.”

“T-That’s.”

His fingers slowly pushed in, rubbing her inner walls before pulling out. Initially dry, they only moved about two knuckles, but soon a slick sound echoed.

‘Embarrassing.’

Just from the sound, she could tell she was getting more excited. Embarrassed to be lying there exposed in front of Kanin, she covered her face with her hands. But they were quickly caught and pulled down by Kanin. He spoke in a stern tone.

“Don’t cover your face.”

“B-But.”

She sniffled. Even without seeing, she knew her ears were burning red.

“It’s embarrassing.”

Kanin kissed her sniffling nose.

“I want to see even your embarrassed face.”

“……!!”

At his sweet words, she opened her eyes wide. At that moment, Kanin’s two fingers plunged deeply inside her.

“Hic!”

The sudden stimulation lifted her hips. Kanin continuously kissed her body and probed deep inside her.

When his cold tongue licked her n*pple, her whole body tingled.

“K-Kanin. Stop. Stop.”

“I need to loosen you a bit more.”

She felt like she might cry. She panted shallowly, looking at Kanin.

Lying on the bed, held quietly in Kanin’s arms, she rubbed her cheek against Kanin’s slightly cold chest.

“A Water Mage can do things like this.”

“Yes. I’m envious.”

Cool, easily cleaned.

Thinking that, she wiggled her toes, and Kanin embraced her, saying.

“You have to dry it.”

“Yes.”

She closed her eyes. With just a little magic, the moisture evaporated from his body, leaving him and his hair dry and fluffy.

Kanin’s lips touched her forehead. It tickled, as if he was smiling.

“A Fire Mage can do things like this.”

It was exactly the same thing she had said. She puffed her cheeks and grumbled.

“Do you think I’m a child? You don’t have to force compliments.”

“Cute.”

Instead of apologizing, Kanin kissed her lips with a peck. Their gazes met in midair for a moment. Without knowing who started it, they kissed.

‘Refreshing.’

The more they tangled tongues, the more her mind seemed to drift away.

‘I like Kanin.’

She tightened her arms around Kanin. Kanin was the only person in the world who could make her feel this way.

‘Is this feeling love?’

That no one else would do, that only this person was precious in the world, exactly that feeling.

‘Love.’

It felt like being soaked by the tide, and when she came to her senses, she had fallen into the deep sea. She looked up at Kanin.

Kanin’s face, always so cold, was faintly flushed.

It was impossible not to know that his sparkling blue eyes held the same emotions as hers. Kanin looked at her with a gentle gaze and said.

“Let’s get married.”

“Kanin?”

Expecting a love confession, she widened her eyes at the sudden proposal. Kanin added seriously.

“And continue being a mage.”

“Kanin….” 

Vivi bit her lip in response to Kanin’s words, tears welling up in her eyes. 

‘To marry and continue being a mage.’ 

No one had ever said such words to her. Even the elders of her family subtly hoped she would quickly have children and pass all her magic power to them. 

They wanted to bet on other possibilities since she was already considered a failed mage. 

However, Kanin was telling her a completely different story. 

“I hope you don’t give up anything. What’s wrong with dating? What’s wrong with getting married? It doesn’t make sense to be unable to do what you want due to ordinary changes in life.” 

Kanin’s large fingers rubbed the corners of her eyes. Realizing the moisture on his fingertips, Vivi understood that she had ultimately failed to hold back her tears, silently letting them flow. 

Facing her, Kanin smiled. It was a warm, gentle yet strong smile from a man she could lean on. 

“I’ll be with you for life, by your side. Let’s walk together.” 

“B-But Kanin.” 

She looked at Kanin with trembling eyes. 

‘I’m happy. I’m so happy.’ 

If she did as Kanin said, she wouldn’t have to give up anything. But she couldn’t just be happy about it. 

“Isn’t that only good for me?” 

Compared to what Kanin could give her, she felt she had nothing to offer him. 

‘Kanin would continue to stabilize me and live like my assistant mage.’ 

Could she take away this person’s whole life just because she didn’t want to give up on what she wanted to do? 

“Why do you think that, Vivi?” 

Kanin gently wiped her tear-streaked eyes. Then he kissed the corners of her eyes. His pointed tongue slowly licked away the tears caught there. 

“I need you.” 

“Why me?” 

What could I possibly give you? 

Kanin chuckled at her blank question. 

“Do you really not know?” 

His large hand cupped her chin. Then he tilted her face, bringing his lips close to hers. 

At a distance where their breaths mingled, he confessed in a low, whispering voice. 

“Because I love you.” 

“Kanin.” 

“So answer me too, Vivi.” 

Kanin gazed at her with a steady look. It was the same refreshing gaze that had once pulled her out of her misery as a child. 

“Can I have your entire life?” 

Facing that gaze across time and space, she slowly realized one thing. 

She had already belonged to this man since then. 

“Of course.” 

She kissed Kanin’s lips. Her tear-soaked lips tasted a bit salty. 

And warm.
