“Probably from the moment I was born? Because you created me?”
Is he stating a fact or threatening me?
It’s true that I created him, but I don’t know everything, including what kind of response would come when I ask a question like this.
Because the story I wrote is about a heroine having fun and meeting guys!
“I want to dress myself.”
I changed the subject in a way that it was obvious, but Seth let it slide. He might have something up his sleeve, but for now, I was happy to have a boundary.
“Here’s your outfit for today.”
Seth held out a white chiffon dress. It was long, reaching down to my ankles, and while it was pretty, it wasn’t really my style.
“Can’t I choose what I wear?”
“No, you can’t,” he denied it very sharply. “I’m curious about what clothes suit my master, so I want to find out.”
“…So, you’re the one choosing?”
“Yes. I’ll dress you in different clothes every day.” His crimson eyes sparkled. “I’ll also shop for the clothes myself.”
“You don’t use a maid?”
“No. I’ll dress you myself.”
Red lips curled into an amused smile.
What would happen if I asserted that I didn’t like this, and I’d wear clothes that I personally prefer?
Hmm, I don’t have enough confidence to fight yet. Let’s quickly empty my mind of that notion.
“I’ll dress myself,” I insisted.
“Okay,” Seth replied cheerfully and turned around. I put on the clothes, but the back had buttons, and I struggled to fasten them when someone soon filled in for me.
“The buttons are too small, so it’s hard to fasten them properly.”
It was a perfectly timed assistance. But surely, he wasn’t watching me from the beginning, right?
“Well, what kind of accessories do you like? What does my master like?”
“Choose for me, Seth. I think that would be nice.”
This eccentric character, despite pretending otherwise, is incredibly moody, so I just went along with him.
“Do you think so?”
Mine was the right answer, as he narrowed his eyes and smiled. Playfulness emanated from his tone and the corners of his eyes.
“Your hair and eyes are black, so almost anything would suit you well. Ah, of course, with your beautiful face, it wouldn’t matter what color it is.”
I usually disregard flattering words used to gain someone’s trust, afraid that they might be a person who stabs me in the back afterward.
Still, to think he said I’m pretty!
Just for a moment, the thought crossed my mind that living here might not be so bad.
No, he’s the villainous chancellor. Careful, he might slit your throat after lulling you into a false sense of security like this.
“Master, let’s go with this one.”
Seth pondered and selected a piece of jewelry that matched his own red hair.
He placed a large ruby pendant on a platinum chain around my neck and adorned my wrist with a ruby bracelet he had chosen. He smiled with a satisfied expression.
It was as if he had shackled me.
As soon as I was dressed, I brought up the subject I’d been thinking about all night.
“I want to go outside the building.”
The satisfied expression vanished from Seth’s face. Ah, this is his true expression.
His emotionless crimson eyes and rigidly pursed lips.
“This is my world. I want to know what it looks like,” I pressed.
No answer came from him.
I gently squeezed Seth’s hand to see what happened. He doesn’t mind physical contact when it’s initiated by him, but he dislikes it when others make the first move.
If he pushes my hand away, I have to drop the subject, and if he stays still, I can keep talking.
“Seth, show me around your home.”
As I gently clasped his hand, Seth flinched and slightly averted his gaze. But he didn’t pull away.
Good, full steam ahead!
“It’s my home, isn’t it?” I kept coaxing him. “The place where you and I live. So, it would be nice if you could accompany me and show me around.”
“I was in a hurry to see my master, so I didn’t finish tidying up. Let’s go out when it’s clean.”
“So how many days must I wait to have a look around?”
Knowing that avoiding the question is one of Seth’s specialties, I drove a nail into the coffin.
“Just wait for a week.”
“Okay, so I can see this place after a week? I’m really excited!” I grinned widely, unable to hold back my excitement.
Hehe, I’ve got the upper hand.
Since it’s confirmed that this guy won’t kill me immediately, I need to proceed cautiously. I have to figure out the reason he brought me here. I need to find an opportunity to escape.
That’s my only goal.
I don’t have ambitions like, “Since things turned out this way, should I let the other male leads see me too?” I have only one purpose: to get back to my world alive.
Fortunately, there are plenty of things I can take with me as a contingency plan if I need to use a “door” to escape.
Until then, I’ll have to cater to his preferences.
Seth tilted his head and asked, “Is it good? Living with me.”
“Do you dislike it?” I neatly asked back.
“No, I like it.” He released my hand and wrapped his arm around my waist, bringing his lips close to my neck as my back pressed against his firm torso. “I like it so much it’s driving me crazy.”
His soft lips touching my neck were unexpectedly stimulating.
I tried to push him away, but as a man who dislikes being pushed while being good at pushing others, he remained unmoved. As a result, his lips gradually crept up the curve of my neck, reaching my earlobe.
“Seth,” I called out in a stern tone, as if scolding him, and he chuckled and backed away.
“Master, I have to go to the imperial palace, so take a rest. Do you understand?”
“Yes. But will you give me food?”
“Of course, I will.”
“Alright, have a safe trip,” I said as I waved goodbye and walked over to the bookshelf to look around.
“Hmm?”
The shape of the shadow cast on the shelf shifted, and I was spun around to face Seth, who cupped my face in both hands and locked eyes with me.
“Don’t be too happy that I’m not here, Master.”
You’re trying to trick me again? I won’t be tricked this time.
“What are you talking about? I feel genuinely disappointed when I think you’re not around,” I said placatingly.
“Is that so? I’m glad.”
Seth tilted his head slightly and smiled.
It must be a mistake to think he grabbed me on purpose to make me look at his face, right?
