In the morning, Dietrich sat me down on a chair by the window, feeling groggy from lack of sleep.
He fed me breakfast, and I washed up and got dressed, waking up a bit by then.
Then, I continued to sit by the window, sometimes dozing off or wandering outside.
“Writer.”
“Hmm?”
As I turned my gaze away from the window, Dietrich naturally lowered his head and found my lips. I’ve become quite accustomed to it, so I just sat there quietly.
He’s gotten quite skillful.
To top it all off, he had a tremendous amount of tolerance in controlling his breath, and it was hard for me to keep up with him.
Dietrich, who didn’t move when I slapped him on the shoulder, pulled his face away from me.
“Pant, pant.”
I thought I was going to die from lack of breath.
It’s unfair to suffocate from shortness of breath when it’s not even a sign of serious illness.
Dietrich wiped his smudged lips with the back of his hand and then opened the door.
“What’s going on?”
“Master, guests have arrived.”
“Didn’t I tell you not to accept any guests?”
“That is someone that I can not stop.”
“What?”
The butler bowed deeply to his master, who looked uncomfortable.
“It’s not your fault butler, don’t be angry on him Diet…”
As I approached and stroked his arm, Dietrich’s lifted eye corners quickly lowered. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
It was uncomfortable to act like this in front of people, so I tried to push him away, but his steel-like arms wouldn’t budge. Who said he would be this strong?
Yeah, again it’s me.
Raising his head again, the butler gave me a grateful glance.
For what? Why are you looking at me with such an admiring gaze?
“Who? Who is that insolent thing.”
“That.”
The butler looked embarrassed.
“The Chancellor and…”
For some strange reason, Seth had been very quiet recently.
I scrunched up my nose, by not being surprised.
But my facial muscles tensed as he continued.
“…The master of the Magic Tower.”
Dietrich’s face instantly contorted again. He put on his uniform and strapped a sword to his waist, clearly ready for action.
Dietrich’s usually neat face was now stern and hardened.
I stood up, still in my clothes.
My request for simple clothes had been granted, and Dietrich had made me several dresses that reached about the mid-calf.
I didn’t feel like changing since I was still wearing them. The only change was that I swapped my indoor shoes for boots.
Dietrich took my hand with a stern look on his face.
“Let’s go.”
The atmosphere felt like Romeo and Juliet, but Dietrich, you’re having a misunderstanding.
I’m not on anyone’s side.
The unwelcome visitors couldn’t enter the mansion and were standing near the main gate. I could see a carriage and people in front of it at a distance.
As they got closer, the silhouettes of the people became clearer.
A large carriage with the Milan family crest.
Two people wearing black cloaks and hoods that look hot just by looking at them, and a young man with red hair.
“Hello, Master.”
Seth, who was standing in front of the large gate, waved his hand playfully at me.
“Don’t come.”
Dietrich blocked his path and reached for the hilt of his sword.
“Oh, Knight Commander.”
Seth laughed at him nonchalantly.
“Would it bother you if the Master thought I was hers?”
“That doesn’t make her yours, Chancellor.”
Dietrich retorted. He tilted his head to the side slightly and met Seth’s frighteningly stiffened gaze.
“Your Grace the Knight Commander.”
Upon closer inspection, a mysterious golden animal pattern was engraved on the right chest of the cloak. It seemed to be the emblem of the magic tower.
“I’ve come to take her with me.”
“At whose behest?”
“Wouldn’t it be better for her to stay in the neutral territory of the tower?”
“Who wants that?”
As expected, the tower lord was aware of my identity.
“Then for whose benefit have you kept her here?”
Seth’s red lips twisted.
“For your pl*asure?”
Dietrich gritted his teeth.
“How can I trust her to the tower lord!”
“By its very nature, the tower is off-limits to anyone, with the exception of Your Grace the commander and His Grace the Chancellor. You may not enter whenever you wish, but if you choose a day, I will arrange it for you to enter.”
“Who the hell would accept such conditions……!”
“Why don’t you stop your pointless defiance?”
Dietrich, who had a complete monopoly on me, was unhappy, and Seth, who had been deprived of me, seemed to be content with these terms.
Dietrich’s power is the best in the Empire.
Even if Seth tried to use his head, he’d be in trouble if Dietrich went crazy and used all his strength.
While he might act rationally in the affairs of the state, Seth probably realized he wasn’t rational when it came to me.
As for the opposing forces, the tower Lord was about the only one who could match his strength. He was a powerful mage who could contend with a Sword master.
That’s why Seth must have informed him of my identity and asked for his help.
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
With a scraping sound, Dietrich unsheathed his sword.
The man from the Magic Tower who had spoken moved in front of another person wearing a Magic Tower robe.
The one standing silently behind him from earlier must be the tower lord.
In light of my identity and the fact that he had summoned me, he would not have sent a typical mage to face Dietrich.
The adamantium blade of the sword began to glow blue.
Seeing this, Seth shrugged.
“Fine, if you want to fight, then fight.”
His tone carried blatant sarcasm.
“Instead, a lot of people will know about Master.”
Dietrich seemed taken aback by those words, perhaps not having considered it.
“You didn’t think anyone would notice if you caused a disturbance.”
Dietrich’s face gradually contorted.
“Do you, my adorable master, wish to attract the attention of others? I don’t want more competitors here.”
The term ‘competitors’ triggered a sensitive reaction within Dietrich.
“If the Emperor or the head of the Dark Guild were to intervene, it would be a headache. Don’t you think so?”
“Damn it.”
No, Seth, why are you saying such annoying things, and Dietrich, why are you agreeing with him?
“It’s for everyone’s good.”
“Don’t tell me it’s for the sake of……!”
“Did I ever want this to even happen?”
Seth’s eyes glared fiercely.
“It’s all because you monopolized Master and wouldn’t let her go!”
His usually calm voice grew louder.
“Hmph, you don’t remember that you also had her in your arms, do you?”
Seth pretended not to hear that and ignored his words.
