Villain Eaten By The Hero - Chapter 26
CHAPTER 26
The fork stuck in the plate began to bend.
Sensing that this situation could turn dangerous, Belze felt her saliva sticking to her tongue. She swallowed hard, contemplating whether she could escape this situation right now.
Though avoiding the conversation seemed tempting, she knew that simply fleeing might further provoke Seo’s anger. In the city, she’d be safe in her lair, but on a cruise ship, cut off from the outside world, she’d be caught quickly.
Eventually, Belze found herself nervously glancing at Seo’s reactions, her toes fidgeting.
As she did so, a sense of frustration washed over her. She was well aware of Seo’s bad temper, but she hadn’t done anything wrong. Yet, he was looking at her as if he could kill her.
“I could stay up all night.”
“Are you telling me you stayed up all night doing that? That’s ridiculous. Don’t lie.”
“Why do you keep accusing me of lying? I have a boyfriend, I have my reasons. There’s no reason why I can’t go on a date. You have no proof, but you keep saying it’s a lie.”
Well, actually, he was right, they had secretly held meetings between the two organizations. But, Seo was unaware of this. Belze had thoroughly checked for any hidden cameras or recording devices both inside and outside the cabin, so she was confident that there was no evidence.
Why keep accusing me when he knows nothing?
Belze couldn’t believe that he would do such thing.
The way Seo was accusing her of lying felt like an attack, a dismissive tone implying disbelief in Belze having a boyfriend.
“I didn’t even know he existed.”
Seo growled in a low voice. Belze couldn’t tell what he was angry about. She just wanted to get back to where Hye-na and Hugo were.
The two of them were keeping an eye on Belze from a distance. While they felt a desire to help her, they knew that their presence wouldn’t change the fact that she was a target. The three of them together would only result in more collateral damage.
Belze gestured for them to stay away, yet, Seo persisted as if pressing for an answer.
“I did not know.”
“So what if you didn’t know? He’s relatively well-known in Russia. Try brushing up on current events and general knowledge.”
“I’ve never seen you with anyone.”
“It’s natural that you don’t know about my private life.”
“If you had a boyfriend, you wouldn’t have come to me in a dream like that.”
And there it was, the topic they had both avoided for a month, now laid bare. As soon as the word “dream” escaped Seo’s lips, the world around them seemed to fade, and like they were standing alone on a tightrope.
With each step, fear loomed.
That dream was forbidden in that sense. For a whole month, it had silenced the two of them, who had always attacked each other’s weaknesses.
It wasn’t so much that they were embarrassed having exposed every inch of their bodies and sharing tender moments. If they had been, they would have blamed each other, called it a mistake, and raised their voices.
But what they did was to give in to their desires. Even if they thought it was a dream, no, precisely because they thought it was a dream, that they were more honest in their desire for each other’s bodies. They didn’t just lust after each other’s bodies, they had exchanged words and emotions beyond that.
So, amidst the mortification bordering deathly, amidst the anxiety of being caught in their vulnerabilities, her heart raced. Belze placed her plate of food on Seo’s table, keeping her voice as low as possible.
Her face was undoubtedly flushed with embarrassment, but she still refused to back down.
“Seo, you’re surprisingly more innocent and conservative than you appear. Can’t you sleep with someone who isn’t your lover?”
“You, I told you not to use your body like that….”
“Hey, don’t misunderstand. It’s not sleeping in exchange for something. It’s about enjoying each other’s company. You’ve slept with horrible people like me, so why can’t you sleep with someone else?”
“…”
It was as if the sound of crackling flames was echoing in her ears, but Belze couldn’t stop now. Even though Seo’s glare was filled with resentment, the water had already been spilled.
“I was worried that I couldn’t fight with you, so I tried to appease your taste…”
“Do you believe that? I was just trying to tempt you, so I was saying things to get on your good side.”
“So what you’re saying is that what you said in your dream was a total lie and you can sleep with other people.”
The fork twisted around like trash. It was such a noticeable thing that the waiter who was approaching to clear the plates discreetly turned away quickly and went somewhere else.
Seo had an expression that could easily kill a man or two, his low voice became more tense.
“You clung to me, telling me it was either me or no one else…. You tricked me? Fine, let’s go with that. I’ll pay you back in full.”
“Huh?”
“Even though I didn’t want to, you said you liked my lower half… why was it that you clung so eagerly….”
“Huh? Wait a second. I never said anything like that! Why are you making things up!”
Belze don’t remember saying anything like that. She had never said such things in the dreams, because she didn’t want to say it, didn’t want to admit it, so it wouldn’t be true.
Seo’s eyes narrowed as Belze leaned in to ask, panting. Only one side of his face was contorted more than the other, it was a face of a man who’d had enough.
“You did.”
“I didn’t.”
“You did.”
“I didn’t, though.”
“You did it five times in my dream.”
“Three times! I haven’t gone since that day!”
Wait, when did I do it five times? Five times if you count including what happened in real life. But then, I stopped, so I wasn’t sure if it should be counted.
She discarded the dream immediately. No matter how she counted, she couldn’t recall having done it for five times.
As she was counting on her fingers, trying to see if it could be counted as five times by adjusting the numbers, Seo pulled her closer and whispered.
“What about the chocolate cake?”
“What?”
“Chocolate cake.”
“What cake?”
Belze didn’t quite understand the context of his words. Seo’s face gradually turned to a deeper shade of red as she narrowed her eyes in genuine confusion. His blushing face, surprised and turning red, was similar to the embarrassed face she had seen before.
Seeing that reaction, Belze considered one possible explanation. It seemed like she might know what Seo’s words meant, the kind of misconception he might be having.
In an instant, amusement swirled through her mind, tugging at the corners of her mouth. Belze stifled her laughter that threatened to break out at any moment and lifted her chin to look down at Seo.
“You were dreaming, weren’t you?”
“Shut up.”
“About me?”
“I said shut up.”
“You know you’re hilarious, how could you possibly daydream about me? You’re really setting yourself up against me.”
Whatever the chocolate cake was, it must have been a keyword to recognize himself in his dream. But since Belze had absolutely no idea, Seo must have realized that it was his actual dream.
Seo’s face was so embarrassed it looked like it he wanted to die. Seo wasn’t very good at hiding his emotions very well.
“What did you do? I’m curious. Tell me, I’ll keep it in mind for the next time I visit your dreams. Aside from the white slip, what else did you like?”
“You want it back twice as much?”
“How are you going to do it? Are you going to visit my dreams? Oh well, I guess I can’t help it then. If you’re going to visit my dreams, I’ll have to accommodate you. But what should I do? I’m not as insatiable as you are.”
Seo was not used to finding himself in a vulnerable position. The sausage popped, the bowl punctured, the fork curled into a sphere, but he couldn’t muster the strength to resist. Belze felt like she was going to die from how enjoyable this was.
In a place like this, in the middle of a crowded cruise ship, Seo was feeling so embarrassed that he couldn’t bear it. All because of himself!
Unknown to many, lust is closely related to liking, even if it cannot be equated with love. This is because not everyone lusts after everyone.
Lust presupposes liking, and that meant that Belze was somewhat to Seo’s liking. The idea of an enemy lusting after her body was perhaps a detestable story, but Belze was delighted.
Being attracted to the opponent you’re supposed to fight against is undoubtedly a clear defeat and embarrassment, no matter what anyone says. And Seo was feeling that!
“I see why you’re angry. You wanted to sleep with me, and you didn’t like that I was sleeping with another guy. Seo, why don’t you just be honest with me, and maybe I’ll think about it.”
Seizing the opportunity, Belze made fun of Seo’s attitude by making fun of him.
She wasn’t sure if that was really what had made him so angry, but the truth didn’t really matter. What mattered was that she could mock Seo and make him lose his cool. Belze was happy to tease him and lower his self-esteem.
In a fight, it’s all about taking the initiative. It didn’t matter if it was a personal attack or a bluff, as long as you could break your opponent’s spirit.
In fact, it was common for villains to say things like, “Your girlfriend is amazing,” to turn a hero’s mind upside down. Of course, anyone who said that to Seo was in for a big trouble.
“Huh? Seo, if you’re good….”
Before Belze could finish her sentence, Seo grabbed her by the collar. Her body was pulled forward.
The light tug caused her body to wobble slightly. Her heart raced considerably. Seo’s face was so close that their noses almost touched.
Unintentionally, the thought of a kiss crossed Belze’s mind, and tension surged through her entire body. The lips she’d sucked on more than a dozen times were within reach if he leaned in.
“You’re going to regret if you say that to anyone else.”
Even though she didn’t feel any fondness, her heart raced as she teased Seo, whose face was full of nerves. Embarrassingly enough, her heart raced despite the situation being almost too awkward.
Honestly, Seo’s face when he was angry was the most exciting and exhilarating. Today, with his embarrassment added to the mix, it brought a different kind of sensation.
The fact that the sound of his heartbeat could only be heard if she pressed her ear against his body was the only consolation.
“You know I don’t talk bullshit.”
Seo issued a warning in her ear and let go of Belze’s collar, then moved away. Seok, who had been drinking, hurriedly returned to stop Seo, and her organization mates, unable to ignore them any longer, rushed over to check on Belze.
Amidst concerns of whether he was alright, the breath that had momentarily halted resumed.
“Hiccup.”
With a hiccup. Belze hiccuped, shaking from the tension that she hadn’t managed to shake off.
Seo’s words, ‘You’ll regret it’ wrapped around her.
…But, now she couldn’t interpret those words with the same meaning as before. Seo’s merciless retaliation was still intimidating, but now she was concerned about the kind of regret Seo might give back.
