Villain Eaten By The Hero - Chapter 37
CHAPTER 37
Belze scrapped the project, placing all the blame on the fanfic, but it wasn’t excessively disappointing as things like this happen when you create something.
At least she wasn’t going to die of embarrassment like in the after effects of the dreams-inducing pill.
Belze shivered again, and pushed the not-so-fanfic-friendly Seo out of her mind. The lesson she had learned from the daydream was that unfulfilled desires should be quickly forgotten.
*
The next plan was much cuter and more endearing, yet it posed a real threat. Belze’s group attacked the city, turning people into small animals.
Various types of dogs, cats, rabbits, and even ferrets were running around the streets. As Belze watched the little critters with glee, Seo appeared, smashing through the pavement as usual. His disregard for the common public welfare was spot-on today.
“Long time no see?”
The sight of tiny dogs and cats running around was amusing on the surface, but considering they were human, it was a major event.
Sudden physical changes have repercussions for everyone, and forcing someone to change their appearance is a felony. Although cute, the sight where pedestrians and drivers simultaneously turned into animals was a recipe for chaos.
Thanks to the large-scale operation, Seo’s expression was as stern as if he were dealing with a very terrible criminal.
Belze inadvertently looked down on him. She wasn’t expecting that their relationship will turn special just because they had spent a quiet night together, but seeing him act like nothing had happened made her heart feel stained.
Looking at him, she couldn’t help but think about the marks he had left on her skin that would last for days, especially on her neck and lower back.
The moment she recalled that image, she fell silent. At the time, she had nonchalantly spun a story about seducing him to make him kneel, but when she thought about it, it was a childish excuse. Just thinking about it made her blush.
They had fulfilled their desires for each other, so it would be nice if they could pass it off as a midsummer night’s dream, but human hearts weren’t that simple. Belze was not at ease in Seo’s presence, and her demeanour was misleading.
“Are you feeling bad?”
Seo asked, softening his expression slightly. Belze still hadn’t answered because she couldn’t immediately grasp what he was saying.
Fortunately, Seo kindly added an explanation, more considerate than he used to be.
“Did it bother you that people were chattering so much? So, is that why you’re turning them into dumb animals?”
Seo was gradually reducing his suspicions about Belze.
Seo still have his doubts until he saw her face to face, but seeing Belze’s hesitant behavior convinced him that she hadn’t done it. If it had been her doing, she would have confidently rushed in front of the camera, hugged him, embracing the scandal, or boldly ridiculing it if there were no other options.
Maybe it was not her doing, and perhaps this was her way of venting her anger. If that were the case, maybe he should be more understanding this time.
However, Belze didn’t meet his expectations, at least not in a clear way.
“Huh? No. They’re cute. I wanted to live with cute things.”
“….”
“….”
There was a brief awkward silence, and Seo’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Yeah, you’re like that, and I feel like an idiot for worrying.”
“Were you worried or something? But why are you looking so angry… Wait a minute! Jet, turn Seo into a dog quickly!”
“I’m going to make it extra easy for you today, because of your bad mood.”
“Oh, come on! If you want to turn the people back to normal, you should cooperate willingly… Why aren’t you changing? Why don’t you care about the citizens? Why… Everyone, retreat!”
Since the technique of turning people into animals didn’t work on Seo, the group quickly ran away.
It was a typical attack and escape, just like always.
Until the next morning, when Seo summoned Belze by punching a random nearby villain.
*
Seo summoned Belze the same way he had once before. He’d taken a villain hostage and then demanding Belze’s presence. His opponent was a low-level gang m*mber, Seo was able to round him up quickly and so, Belze received a call within thirty minutes and showed up in a gloomy alley.
When she arrived at the meeting point, a hooded Seo was waiting for her, and as soon as he saw her, he kicked the villain he had been stepping on, chasing him away. Unless she had another trick up his sleeve, the two of them were alone in the dreary alley.
Belze looked at Seo and sighed. His half-hidden face looked ominous, but given that she had been forcibly summoned by the hero since the morning, she felt like she could voice her complaints.
“I tried to tell you before, but you can’t call people like this. What if my relationship with my colleagues gets strained because of this? Are you trying to make me the office outcast? I’ll give you my email address, so contact me there.”
“Take responsibility.”
Seo’s voice was darker than the early morning alley, but Belze didn’t budge.
“What do you mean? Responsibility for what? Oh Seo, were you really a virgin?”
The word ‘responsibility’ reminded Belze of something she had recently read in the fanfiction. After their first experience in the fanfic, there were too many instances where they demanded responsibility from each other or took responsibility in various ways.
Once she said it out loud, she regretted making a pointless joke, as she couldn’t find any humor in Seo’s expression.
If he had been in her right mind, he might have issued an ultimatum to take responsibility or taunted her in return. However, after a month of narrowing the distance between them, Seo stared at Belze like someone having a ten-year-old grudge.
Belze tensed up, her breath catching in her throat as she faced Seo’s imposing presence.
“Should I remove the hoodie? It’s your fault that I ended up like this, so you should take responsibility.”
“What, what…? Another one-night stand? Are you feeling h*rny? It’s still a bit early for that.”
“Who’s going to take responsibility for this?”
Belze nervously swallowed, her expression tense, as she was within arm’s reach of Seo. Although she reluctantly came out to save her fellow villain, confronting Seo alone meant she could be immediately dragged to prison.
While Belze nervously fiddled with her fingers, Seo, whose voice had turned from anger to frustration, forcefully pushed back the hood he had been tightly clutching. That’s when she noticed that the top part of the hoodie looked like it had something stuffed into it.
As the hoodie was pulled back, what was revealed was…
“…a rabbit?”
It was a cute, slightly drooping black rabbit ear, about the size of a palm.
Even after rubbing her eyes and looking again, the ears remained perky above his head, and they were unmistakably rabbit ears.
The outer part was black fur similar in color to Seo’s hair. The inside of the ear was a slightly lighter and adorable rosy pink compared to Belze’s hair.
The impeccably clean fur, free of any dirt, boasted a soft and fluffy texture, capturing Belze’s attention. The rabbit ears were unbearably cute. However, as she found herself looking at Seo’s face along with those adorable rabbit ears, a different emotion surged through her like a flood.
Belze struggled to suppress a smile that threatened to burst out.
“It doesn’t suit you… Seriously, am I going crazy? It doesn’t suit you, but it’s too cute…”
The sight of the ear twitching above his head by about an inch was incredibly charming. But beneath those cute rabbit ears was the face of a fierce predator that could easily tear three people apart, and there was nothing cute about his sturdy body.
Seo’s intimidating face didn’t go well with the adorable rabbit ears, and that was what made it even cuter.
His face wasn’t cute at all. But the rabbit ear was lovely. So, with the rabbit ears attached, Seo was irresistibly adorable.
Unable to hold back her laughter any longer, Belze burst into giggles. Seo, taking advantage of the moment, stepped closer and grabbed her by the waist.
It was supposed to be a light scolding rather than grabbing her by the nape of her neck, but for Belze, it was a tense moment. While grabbing someone by the scruff of the neck felt like a show of hostility, having her waist held sent a rush of s*xual tension through her. It was natural not to touch someone’s waist in an antagonistic relationship. Seo’s act of consideration had completely backfired.
“Are you laughing?”
“N-no… um, yes… No, sorry…but it’s cute.”
“Why are you laughing?”
“S-sorry… I’m just…a-amused.”
If she wanted to show consideration, maybe she should have polished the content a bit more. Belze had thought of that, but in the face of Seo’s overwhelming presence, the words didn’t come out so easily.
Seo maintained his fierce expression despite the charming rabbit ears.
“What are you going to do about this?”
“Maybe it didn’t work correctly because your body is so strong. Did only the ears appear?”
“No!”
“Did you grow a tail too? Did you hide it in your pants? Show me once… Sorry.”
“Stop with the nonsense now and fix it right away.”
“It will return to normal in about four days. You can live like that for a while; it won’t be a problem, so just continue your activities… Alright, alright, alright! ! I’ll fix it back to normal!”
Some people have already returned to human form, and even the worst-case took no more than a day. Seo was no exception. But he had demanded an immediate solution with a threatening expression, so Belze reluctantly led him to her hideout. Anyone who witnessed a lamppost getting bent over would make the same judgment as her.
She couldn’t address Seo’s request on the street, and they couldn’t return to their organization office. That left her with no choice but to use her hideout she used for transactions.
The only requirement was that they had to be alone in the house that was decorated like a regular home. That troublesome rabbit ear that could easily grab people’s attention.
As they entered Belze’s hideout, she couldn’t take her eyes off Seo’s ears. Whether it was when he went to wash his hands in the bathroom or when he sat on the sofa, her gaze remained fixated on them.
Seo, who had been uncomfortable with the gaze following him everywhere, finally flipped her hood back.
“Don’t look.”
Of course, Belze couldn’t take his eyes off him. Saying that wouldn’t make her gaze obediently drop.
“Can you hurry up and fix it?”
“Wait. I’ve already contacted them to bring the necessary equipment and materials. It’ll take a half a day because we have to assemble it after it arrives.”
“Why does it take so long?”
In an annoyed tone, Belze finally put on a stern face.
“Because I’m a genius, you think everything is a piece of cake for me? Do you think I can make anything instantly? If it were that easy, you could have asked for help from your fellow heroes. But you came to me because it wasn’t possible.”
Seo could have asked the disaster relief headquarters to solve a problem as small as rabbit ears sticking out. If someone else could fix it faster than Belze, he would have asked them.
Belze leaned her arms on the back of the sofa and grumbled.
“I’ll resolve it faster than them, so just wait quietly. No one is going to attack you.”
“You’re complaining after making me like this?”
Seo snarled, making it clear how displeased he was. Belze looked at him curiously while crossing her legs. Even if it didn’t suit him a little, there was no need to hate it so much.
“I’m saying it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. If you go to work like this, you’ll be incredibly popular with the ladies. Articles will talk about your unique charm.”
