Crazy Match, Crazy Guy - CHAPTER 4 - Part 2
“What?”
-
- I’m in front of your house.
With a rush, Wooyoung got out of her bed and hurried over to her vanity.
“Shouldn’t you have given me a heads-up? What if I wasn’t home?”
-
- I would’ve waited, I guess.
“Are you not a busy person?”
-
- Haha
“Why are you laughing?”
-
- It’s not a bad thing.
“What do you mean?”
Is my face too plain? Should I put on some BB cream? Should I apply lip gloss? Oh, what am I even doing right now?
Frustrated by how conscious she was of her appearance Wooyoung clutched her head.
-
- Just come out for now.
After ending the call, Wooyoung roughly ran her fingers through her disheveled hair and looked at herself in the mirror.
Deep night-colored leggings and a cropped sleeveless tee. The outfit seemed a little too uninspired to greet the man who had gone out of his way to see her, but it was evening, so it doesn’t really matter.
She took a zip-up hoodie from the hanger and put it on, before cautiously making her way down to the first floor. At this time, the auntie would probably be asleep in her room, and her dad would either be in his study or asleep as well.
Lifting her heels, Wooyoung stepped out the front door and across the garden. When she opened the main gate, she spotted an unfamiliar black sedan. Soon, the driver’s side door opened, and he appeared.
The sight of him backlit by the streetlamp somehow stirred her heart.
It’s odd. It’s only been a short while since she met Jang Tae Jin, yet her mood jumps up and down like a seesaw whenever she saw him. This is the first time in her life that she developed feelings for someone so quickly and she’s embarrassed and unsure how to handle it.
Seeing him approach her closer, Wooyoung clenches her fists tightly as her heart pounded.
“It’s the fall season, so it’s chilly at night, yet you’re dressed so thinly.”
“I naturally run hot. But why at this hour…”
“Let’s get in the car first.”
He opened the passenger door. For a moment, Wooyoung debated whether or not to get in, but her legs moved ahead of her mind, to her dismay.
As he sat in the driver’s seat, he turned his body slightly towards her.
“Now that I have your dad’s permission, let’s move in together.”
“First you want to marry me, now you want to live together?”
“Trying living together once won’t be too late to decide about marriage afterward. Isn’t that what you want too?”
“Wh-who said I wanted anything? Don’t assume things on your own.”
“Am I the only one feeling this way? I thought you were the same as me.”
This man is quite aggressive. Her body is already feeling feverish due to the aftermath of their intimacy. Yet even now, her gaze is fixated on Tae Jin’s red lips.
Pull yourself together, Song Wooyoung.
Shifting her gaze forward, Wooyoung forced down her flailing mood.
“Wh-who said we’re the same? I’m not.”
In that instant, her chin was caught in his hand. Her widened eyes turned towards him. Their gazes locked in midair for a few seconds
The way he looked at her was insanely hot. She’s not even drunk, but she’s feeling the dizzying sensations. The simple exchange of glances that he’s sending through is already enough to make her limbs tremble and out of breath.
“Do you really mean it?”
Her heart pounded, and her breath caught in her throat.
“H-h-hands off, and then we’ll talk.”
As Jang Tae Jin’s hand released her chin, she finally breathed freely.
When Wooyoung tried to press the button to open the window, he quickly started the engine of the car.
Vroom. With window opened, the cold air rushed into the car. As she placed the back of her hand against her cheek, the warmth of her skin was transmitted directly.
It’s hot.
She turned her head toward the window and fanned herself, then his voice carried through.
“If you have a lot of things to move, let me know. I’ll send an assistant.”
“I’ll manage on my own.”
“Alright, then.”
He got out of the car and walked around, opening the passenger door.
“You must be tired, get in and get some rest.”
What, that’s it?
Wooyoung got out of the car and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
“Is this all you wanted to say?”
“I just stopped by to see your face for a moment.”
“We’re going to see each other tomorrow anyway, was it necessary to come all the way here?”
Her voice, though outwardly annoyed, concealed a hint of inner happiness. She’s realizing now, for the first time, that she’s the kind of person whose heart and words don’t always align.
Jang Tae Jin looked slightly awkward.
Did my words hurt him? Did I say something unnecessary and hurt him who came all the way here?
Swearing on her life, she hadn’t intended to upset him.
“I mean, there’s a lot of distance between your place and mine, and you’re probably tired from work…….”
“I understand what you’re saying. Go inside.”
“You’re not… upset, right?”
“Not at all. Sleep well.”
“Take care on your way.”
Reluctantly heading towards the front door, Wooyoung suddenly turned around and walked back to him. For some reason, it felt like she couldn’t just let him go like this.
“What’s wrong?”
“Would you like some coffee?”
“I don’t drink coffee at night.”
“Is that your answer because you don’t understand my intention to have coffee?”
Women’s minds are so hard to read. It’s easier to deal with someone you have to negotiate a business deal with than the woman in front of you.
“There’s a convenience store at the intersection. Let’s go.”
“You mean you’re going to walk around in that outfit?”
“What’s wrong with this? I’m wearing workout clothes.”
The legging snugly fit her buttocks and slender extended legs. Why would she be walking around like this?
He’d rather she wore a skirt. Leggings, of all things! It made Tae Jin uncomfortable to see his own woman wearing clothes that accentuated her figure so prominently.
Watching her back as she walked ahead, Tae Jin took off his jacket and approached her, draping it over her shoulders.
Startled, her head turned towards him.
“What’s this?”
“It’s chilly, so put it on.”
“It’s okay.”
“Do as I say.”
Looking down at the jacket covering about half of her thighs and she wondered if he didn’t like the way she looked in leggings.
She remembered hearing something somewhere.
Men often don’t know where to look when they see women wearing leggings. It’s clear that Jae Tae Jin also felt uncomfortable with her attire.
I should probably avoid wearing leggings for anything other than exercise from now on.
Arriving at the convenience store, Wooyoung held a tomato juice in her hand and asked him.
“Do you want to drink this?”
“Sure.”
After grabbing another tomato juice from the fridge and walking to the checkout counter, Wooyoung pulled her phone out of her hoodie pocket.
She was about to pay, but his hand was faster.
“Ah.”
“Pay with this.”
Seeing his card inserted into the card terminal, she looked at him.
“I was going to buy it.”
“Anyone can buy it.”
After finishing the payment, Wooyoung and he walked out of the convenience store together.
It was after ten o’clock, and the neighborhood was quiet. Except for passing cars, there were only few people around.
She admitted that her neighborhood is not a comfortable place to live without a car. It’s an upscale residential neighborhood, so a car is a necessity.
“The convenience store is quite far, isn’t it?”
“I should’ve brought my car. It looks like it’s going to rain.”
“The weather forecast did mention rain… Oh!”
As if on cue, a large raindrop landed on her cheek.
“It’s raining.”
“Let’s go quickly.”
A big hand stretched out toward her.
Is he asking me to hold it?
She hesitated, looking into his eyes, but he decisively took her hand and started running.
It didn’t take long for her hair to get wet from the falling rain.
Wooyoung felt her heart racing like crazy as she moved her legs as fast as he did.
She didn’t know if it was from running or the heat from their clasped hands, but she did know that she didn’t hate every second of being with him.
Afraid that his jacket might fall off, she firmly held onto the collar with her hand.
