Chapter 2.2

〈 Ray’s favorability increases. ( Current favorability: 7% ) 〉

Ray seemed to be a somewhat peculiar character. He became wary on his own and then resolved it on his own, and his favorability increased even though she hadn’t done anything. He came in as he pleased and left as he pleased.

As soon as she heard the sound of the door closing, she poked her head out from under the blanket. 

He really had left. But if you leave again, what about my favorability?

She carefully raised her body and went in front of the mirror, and indeed she did look red. She really looked like someone with a fever. But she didn’t feel any pain or difficulty.

As if this moment was a trap, a system window appeared before her eyes. Her vision spun around and her body tilted. The sound of the mirror shattering loudly filled the room. She had been toyed with again.

Games exist to be enjoyed, but what was she supposed to do when she could feel this kind of body ache so vividly? Her condition seemed worse than at dawn and her vision was blurred. Ridiculously, the painkiller she had taken yesterday really had only temporary effects.

She felt like she should do something about the broken mirror fragments, but she didn’t have the strength to lift a finger. While she was repeating labored breathing, Ray appeared through the cautiously opening door crack.

He held the door handle and quietly looked at the room that had become a mess in just a short time and at her appearance, having crawled out of bed unnecessarily and caused an accident. Still, very fortunately, he picked her up first.

“If you want to die, say it with words.”

She seemed to need to question herself once more whether this was really fortunate. But the current her didn’t have the leisure to apologize or act cute to appease the man’s anger.

Her whole body felt like it was burning up and her throat hurt too much. Just as she was thinking that she seemed to be experiencing all kinds of pain in various ways, her body was gently laid on the bed.

Ray forcibly opened her mouth, which couldn’t even twitch her lips, shoved medicine in, and then lowered his gaze. He looked precisely at her leg that was bleeding from being scratched by the broken fragments.

“You’ve made quite a mess in just a short time.”

A menacing voice followed. He seemed quite angry. Thinking objectively, it was understandable. She was someone he had bought with money, and he had learned today that she was a defective existence with a weak body.

She felt like she would be hurt by his sharp tone. In a situation where she could only fidget with her lips and read the mood, he left her like this and went outside indifferently. It was unfair. She also didn’t know she had a fever, and didn’t know that the painkiller effect could disappear as if mocking her like this.

She didn’t understand where Ray kept going even though this was inside a game. Normally in other games, when items were needed they would appear with a *poof*, and even actions not actually performed would be set in the story as if they had been done. But he strangely moved directly as if this place was another world.

When the man appeared again, she could guess where he had been. He had brought a physician wearing a white robe.

The one who appeared to be a doctor approached her lying collapsed and treated her leg first. He wrapped bandages here and there, checked her pulse, then looked at her with a dark expression. As if looking at someone with a serious illness.

“It’s ordinary… body aches.”

Your tone is too solemn! If it’s ordinary body aches, don’t make such a dark face!

“If you let her take medicine and rest, there will be no problem with nighttime activities.”

And the diagnosis was strange too. In a situation where she couldn’t even control her body properly, to say she’d recover by taking one medicine. 

There’s no way such a thing could…?

– All status ailments are removed. Hooray!

She stared blankly at the white pill placed in her hand, then raised her head to stare intently at Iroinu’s face as he handed her water.

“You can just take it. Here’s water.”

“Can’t you give me more of this?”

She didn’t want to miss this kind of panacea. If she could just stockpile about a basketful and eat them one by one like snacks, she wouldn’t have to worry about getting sick. But the so-called physician just chuckled and didn’t give her any medicine.

“Medicine isn’t candy. One pill is enough to cure you, so please take just one.”

She became like a naive child and looked at Ray as if subtly asking for help. She was earnest, but this gaze only had other effects.

Just by looking at her, it seemed like the sound of his heartbeat could be heard all the way here. Her pure-hearted Master frowned and snatched the water the physician was holding.

“You may go now.”

“Yes, then I’ll be going.”

He left just like that. Leaving behind only one pill that was called a miracle drug.

Though disappointment welled up, she first hesitantly opened her hand and put the medicine she was holding into her mouth. Ray quietly sat beside her, gave her water to drink, and made her swallow the medicine.

“Sera.”

“Yes, Master?”

“Rest.”

“…..”

Ah, yes. She didn’t understand why these characters spoke so seriously about things that weren’t even that impressive. And if there was such a panacea, why was resting still the same requirement? She had doubts, but without a chance to ask questions, Ray forcibly laid her body down and even covered her with a blanket.

“Even if the medicine is effective, if you don’t rest sufficiently, you’ll quickly get worse again.”

He answered as if he had read her thoughts. Even if he said that, she didn’t particularly want to rest right now. Hadn’t she already slept for nearly 24 hours? Rather than resting when she was fine, she wanted to progress the game.

Though her heart shrank slightly at the cold reaction, her body approached the man a little more actively. She wrapped around the inside of his thighs and touched his groin. Actually, because his favorability was at 8%, she felt even more impatient for no reason.

Ray was silent for a moment. Whether not listening to his words had become the root of trouble, she soon felt a murderous aura that made her whole body shiver. He looked down at her, who had flinched in fear, and said.

“You’d better be prepared if you disappoint me.”
