Chapter 2
As she enjoyed the gentle hands washing her hair, the maid Chloe, brought from the Earldom, spoke carefully.
“My Lady, I’m worried.”
“About the Marquis?”
“I’m a little worried about him, but more about you, My Lady.”
Lurua blinked in surprise. Worried about her? She was the last person in the world anyone needed to worry about.
Was she sick? She looked at Chloe with a puzzled face, and Chloe continued.
“Of course, you’re strong wherever you go. But the Marquis is famous for not caring about women. He’s cold, and… I can’t be sure he’ll treat you well just because you’re his wife.”
“You seem to know a lot about the Marquis. Why is this the first time I’ve heard his name?”
“My Lady, if you’re not interested in something, you always let it go in one ear and out the other. Besides, the Marquis of Peraize rarely socializes.”
“Why did no one tell me he was so handsome? If I’d known, I would’ve learned everything about him.”
‘You probably heard it many times.’ Chloe couldn’t bring herself to say it, and quietly brushed Lurua’s hair.
“Anyway, it was said that the Marquis was cold even to women who confessed their feelings to him. My Lady, you have just begun to awaken to the feelings of love, so I’m worried you might get hurt.”
“Don’t worry, Chloe. You know that worrying about me is just needless suffering, right? But what do you mean by worrying about the Marquis?”
“I was worried you might lock up the Marquis if you get heartbroken…”
“Keep worrying about that.”
She playfully splashed her legs in the water. Chloe’s concern was understandable, but Lurua was not someone so delicate as to be hurt that easily.
Suddenly, her father’s image came to mind. Before the wedding began, he spoke with a face full of worry, telling her to please behave herself at least a little after marriage. He insisted that there was no better match than the Marquis of Peraize in the current situation.
Was he worried she might cause trouble and end up divorced?
“No, Chloe. Don’t worry about that either.”
“Pardon?”
“I’m going to live kindly from now on.”
Chloe’s mouth hung open as if she had heard something unbelievable. Was it really that shocking? Chloe cleared her throat.
“I may not be hurt by such things, but the Marquis might have a tender heart, you know? I can’t hurt a beautiful person.”
“Ah, yes…….”
‘Good, she’s her usual self.’ Chloe answered absentmindedly and resumed her paused work.
“Really, I’ll behave from now on.”
“Sure, sure, whatever you say.”
“I mean it!”
She was truly determined.
He may claim to have no interest in women, but what could he do now? They were already married. As long as she didn’t get divorced, she could take as much time as needed to win him over.
If she behaved and didn’t cause trouble, she could make sure the Marquis wouldn’t think of leaving her—and perhaps even capture his heart. What couldn’t she do?
But that resolve didn’t last even a single day.
“Why isn’t he coming!”
Lurua punched the pillow with a surprisingly skilled form. The thud that echoed in the quiet bedroom was hard to believe came from such small hands.
After a much longer bath than usual, she emerged to find maids—clearly staff of the Marquis’s mansion—waiting in her room. They applied fragrant oils to her, dressed her in a white slip, scattered red rose petals on the bed, and then left with Chloe.
Anyone could see this room was prepared for the first night of newlyweds. Left alone, all she could do was wait for the Marquis. Lurua glanced down at the thin slip she wore.
Would the Marquis come dressed in something this risqué too?
Her heart pounded with anticipation.
……Thirty minutes passed like that.
Her patience had already run out ten minutes ago. She wanted to burst out the door and demand where her husband was.
‘Hold on. You had promised to behave.’
Maybe preparations were taking longer than expected. If he came in after applying oil and wearing s*xy underwear, she was willing to forgive him. Lurua hugged the pillow and lay on the bed, trying to calm herself.
But even after an hour passed, no one entered the room.
“I can’t wait any longer.”
She felt she had used up all her lifetime patience. She had waited a whole hour. Yet not only was the Marquis nowhere to be seen, there wasn’t even a word from a servant saying he’d be late.
It was obvious he wasn’t planning to come. No matter how little interest he had in women, she hadn’t expected him to avoid even seeing her face after marriage.
Whether she had to win him over gently or forcefully, at least she should see his face. She hadn’t expected to be left alone on their first night. Why go through all these preparations if he wasn’t coming?
If he wouldn’t come, she would go to him. She marched over and threw open the door with a bang. There was a guard standing watch outside.
If anything was supposed to happen in this room tonight, he shouldn’t have been there.
“Madam, what brings you— gasp……!”
He looked at her in shock, then quickly averted his eyes when he saw her revealing attire. Lurua spoke coldly, unfazed, perhaps with a slightly dangerous smile.
“My husband’s room?”
“Pardon?”
“Where is it?”
“Ah, at the end of the hallway.”
As soon as she heard the answer, she strode off briskly. He had assigned their rooms very far apart. Her room and the Marquis’s were at opposite ends of the floor.
The hallway was quiet. The only person left seemed to be the knight standing guard outside her room. Of course, even if there were more, she wouldn’t have cared.
Practically running, she soon arrived at the Marquis’s door. There was no one guarding it. Without hesitation, she flung open the door. The cool air inside brushed her cheek.
‘Where is he?’
The room was quieter than the hallway. She moved carefully, trying not to make any noise, and looked around. There was no sign of anyone, but then she heard a faint breath from the bed.
Sure enough, the Marquis was fast asleep on the bed. He had made her wait an hour and then fell asleep on his own. Feeling indignant, she almost wanted to hit him.
Lurua climbed onto the bed carefully so as not to wake him. Seeing him sleeping so defenselessly, her anger gradually shifted into sly desire. Without realizing it, she moved on top of him.
“Mm…….”
“Marquis.”
He groaned uncomfortably, but then slowly opened his eyes at the sound of her voice in his ear. Her figure came into his blurry sight. His drowsy mind hadn’t grasped the situation yet.
“Lurua? Why are you here…….”
“It’s our first night, but you showed no sign of coming.”
She smiled sweetly, then suddenly pressed her knee against his groin.
“Gasp……!”
“I thought my husband might have forgotten what marital relations are, so I came to remind you myself.”
“What are you doing! Ugh, get off me…….”
He suddenly inhaled sharply, but the hands that had been about to push her away lost their strength. Lurua looked down at him, puzzled.
She had wanted to tease him more, but why was he like this all of a sudden?
Then, she felt something wet below. Looking down, she saw white fluid leaking through his pants. The wet stain was obvious. Anyone could tell he had cl*maxed.
“Oh my…….”
“I told you to get off…….”
He gritted his teeth and breathed harshly, as if angry. But that didn’t threaten her at all. After all, she had only given him a little stimulation with her knee.
But this……
“Don’t tell me… are you premature?”
At those words, his face flushed instantly. So it was true. While he gritted his teeth in frustration, Lurua couldn’t hide her excitement. She hadn’t expected something this amusing.
“So that’s why you avoided women and didn’t even spend the wedding night. Were you embarrassed? Afraid your premature ej*culation would be discovered?”
What to do—she had promised to behave, but she couldn’t control her tongue as she teased him. This man who seemed so perfect was actually a boy who cl*maxed just from a little pressure below.
As she giggled, Dandel shot her a cold voice.
“Are you mocking me?”
He was cute.
“If you ever tell anyone…….”
“I won’t. What wife would go around announcing her husband has a flaw down there?”
“…….”
He shut his mouth tightly at that. His fierce gaze glared at her, but Lurua just smiled. How could she be scared by someone glaring with a wet stain on his pants? Confidently, she whispered to him, pinned beneath her.
“You know, Marquis. I’ll help you.”
“What are you— gasp……!”
Before he knew it, she was pulling down his pants. Her eyes sparkled as if she had found a new toy.
