Epilogue
“Welcome back, Madam.”
“Ah, yes. Where’s Magnus?”
“The Master has been sulking all day, locked up in his office.”
Was it my imagination that Pamel, speaking with a smiling face, seemed somewhat angry?
Serena scratched her cheek and nodded.
“No, he won’t even let me go to parties.”
“Well, today marks the 3rd anniversary since you two became close, doesn’t it?”
“……It’s not even our 10th wedding anniversary, just 3 years since we got close, why is this even important, seriously.”
Serena’s expression slightly crumpled, unable to understand at all.
He didn’t respond properly from the morning, and now the butler says he’s sulking locked up in his office — just how much of a fuss did he make?
Serena frowned and sighed.
“I’ve served the Master for quite a while, but this is the first time I’ve seen him act so childishly.”
Serena laughed awkwardly at Pamel’s very blatant words.
If Pamel was going this far, it meant Magnus had really gotten under Pamel’s skin.
Serena glanced at Pamel and sighed.
“Will you get angry if I ignore Magnus?”
“Me? Surely not.”
Pamel shook his head with a very nonchalant face as if to say ‘what are you talking about’.
“However, tomorrow’s breakfast might be quite poor. Perhaps even a resignation letter might fly in.”
“……That’s getting angry.”
“How could I, a butler, get angry at my master? I’m just demonstrating.”
That’s the same meaning.
Serena let out a deep sigh. Given some time, Serena found stability quite quickly.
A stable home, a loving husband, and well… still a bit awkward, but parents who warmly embrace her whenever they meet.
She was still awkward with her younger brother, but at least they no longer picked fights or treated her harshly like before.
The more people Serena met, the more she learned about people.
She learned that some things are conveyed even without words, and some things aren’t conveyed if not spoken.
She also learned that it’s better to say when something is uncomfortable rather than suppressing and enduring the parts she didn’t like, and that doing so isn’t being a nuisance.
And surprisingly, her relationship with Professor Lemerun wasn’t that bad either.
Professor Lemerun seemed to like the full support of the ducal family…… or more precisely, the never-ending fountain of money, and was more excited than ever, making all sorts of inventions.
And Colin Martora, who was placed next to him, was a genius enough to keep up with Professor Lemerun, and was even crazy enough to accept his madness.
While the two were obsessed with product development, Serena ended up doing the work again, which wasn’t bad at all.
Originally, Serena was more inclined towards organizing and processing documents and meeting people rather than developing something and racking her brains.
Anyway, for that reason, with Professor Lemerun’s involvement, Colin Martora and Serena Kelahinum and Professor Lemerun could enjoy a somewhat satisfying life.
As time passed, the rumors about her gradually subsided.
Of course, there were still malicious gazes trying to look down on her and belittle her.
However, if there were such people… her parents or Magnus wouldn’t sit still…
Yes, Serena wasn’t unhappy now.
In fact, she could proudly say she was quite satisfied.
“……Haa, I’m sleepy.”
“You’ve been sleeping a lot lately, haven’t you?”
Pamel asked, following behind her.
“Yes, I do sleep during the day at work, but I keep doing this at night too.”
“Since when has this been happening?”
“Hmm…, about three months? My body feels languid.”
“Come to think of it…… you’ve been saying you want to eat things like plums often lately, haven’t you?”
Serena opened her eyes wide and nodded. Now that it’s mentioned, she wants to eat it again.
“Now that you say it, I want to eat peaches too. If there are plums, could you bring some? I’ll try to appease Magnus in the meantime.”
“Understood, shall I bring them to the office?”
“No, bring them to the room.”
“Yes.”
With a subtle expression, Pamel nodded and turned around. Serena yawned and slipped into Magnus’s office.
“Magnus.”
“……So the wife who values work more than her husband has returned.”
“I told you today’s party was led by a business partner and I couldn’t avoid it, I explained several times, are you going to keep doing this?”
“I told you to keep today’s schedule clear three months ago.”
At Magnus’s words, Serena slowly walked to him and hugged him.
“That’s why I came back as early as I could.”
“It’s eight o’clock at night.”
“It was a party meant to last until midnight, I struggled to get out, won’t you praise me?”
“I also tried hard not to rush out to you.”
He just won’t give in even a word.
Serena narrowed her eyes, looked at Magnus, and then lightly kissed his lips.
Smooch.
His face, which would have softened usually at this time, showed no signs of softening today.
“Let’s go to the room, I’m too sleepy. I want to sleep with you, okay? Magnus.”
She acted cute, even kissing his neckline. The corners of Magnus’s lips trembled and then tightly closed.
“I’m not sure if this isn’t too cowardly.”
“When I get angry, you always whisper in my ear that you like me, love me.”
Why does he think it’s cowardly when I do the same thing, but not when he does it?
Magnus sighed at Serena’s words as she narrowed her eyes.
He picked her up in his arms and headed straight to his room.
Entering the room and sitting her on the bed, Magnus made a strange expression as he looked at her blinking face.
“You seem quite tired lately even though you’re sleeping early, are you overworking yourself?”
“Not particularly. I’m even taking naps.”
Magnus blinked slowly at Serena’s words.
“How about calling a doctor for an examination?”
“I’ve already called the family doctor after hearing from the Madam. Let’s have an examination tomorrow.”
The two looked at Pamel, who had entered after knocking, smiling contentedly.
Serena frowned and shook her head.
“No, I’m not sick anywhere.”
“Yes, I don’t think you’re sick either. If I may offer an old man’s presumption, I think it might be pregnancy……”
“……What?”
“……Huh?”
Magnus and Serena froze simultaneously at Pamel’s bomb-like statement.
“You’ve been craving sour foods often and sleeping more, which is similar to the symptoms I know. It would be good to confirm accurately tomorrow.”
Magnus looked at Serena with wide eyes at Pamel’s words.
“Uh……”
Serena blinked with a dumbfounded expression. She hadn’t thought of it at all.
“This is crazy, Serena.”
Magnus kissed her neckline as he pulled Serena into his arms.
Pamel tactfully put down the fruit and left.
“I love you, Serena.”
“……No, it could be a mistake. It might just be that I’ve gained weight……”
Magnus put a sliced plum in Serena’s mouth and kissed her lips.
Serena, chewing slowly, slightly furrowed her brow. Come to think of it, she didn’t particularly like sour things.
“……It’s delicious.”
“Want more?”
“……Yes.”
Serena, who had been nibbling, only smiled slightly with satisfaction after emptying a plate full of plums and peaches.
“…For now, it would be best to quit all work for a while.”
“No, I like how things are now……”
“Absolute rest until the baby is born.”
“That’s not even certain yet.”
“Then will you rest if it becomes certain?”
Serena frowned at Magnus’s words. She nodded with a sour face.
“…It’s like a dream that you’re pregnant with my child.”
“…It’s not certain yet……”
“I love you.”
Magnus muttered softly as he lay down, holding her.
‘He’s not listening at all.’
Serena narrowed her brows.
And of course, the next day, the family doctor who came early in the morning congratulated her, saying she was three months pregnant.
It was no longer a secret that the Kelahinum Duchy and Lavernia Marquis territory generously treated their people, creating an almost festive atmosphere.
‘……I’m happy.’
Serena thought, smiling while in Magnus’s arms.
