“Is that really all, Lizzy?”
Hellebore’s eyes were shining with hope. Lizzy nodded confidently.
“I’ll head home right away, talk to Themis, and send a letter through a messenger as soon as I succeed. Will that be enough?”
Lizzy looked directly at Hellebore, waiting for confirmation. Hellebore, who was completely devoted to his son, immediately agreed.
“Good. If that’s all it takes, I’ll grant the duke a day’s leave for an outing.”
With the deal settled, Lizzy returned home, where Olivia and Marsden were, of course, shocked by her audacity.
However, after explaining the situation to them, Olivia and Marsden agreed to let her proceed with her plan.
“Themis.”
“Hm?”
“Would you like to go see the Crown Prince with just the two of us this weekend? Well, you see, he can’t sleep or eat because he misses you so much. He says you’re his only friend, and he’s feeling so lonely and sad.”
And with that, everything was resolved. From that point on, Olivia and Marsden decided to believe and follow whatever Lizzy said without question.
Under Marsden’s tight security, Olivia accompanied him and the knights to the battlefield. They successfully found a compromise and prevented a war from breaking out.
Both countries were impressed that the Empire, the strongest in the world, respected them enough to send the Duke, the only one in the Empire, and the border master. The Empire could have easily gained an advantage through war, but they chose not to.
“Marsden.”
On their way back, Olivia was the first to apologize to him.
“I’m sorry for saying those harsh things back then.”
“No, I was too emotional as well. I’m sorry too.”
The two sat closely in the carriage, holding hands tightly.
“You know, Marsden, I think Lizzy is going to become an even more amazing person than I imagined.”
“I think so too. I’ve learned a lot from this situation, and it’s made me reflect.”
Olivia and Marsden safely returned home, embraced their children, and gathered together to decide on the name of their youngest.
“What about ‘Yuri’?”
“Yuri?”
It was an unusual name in their country, so everyone looked puzzled at Iris’s suggestion.
“Mom said she had an aunt from another world named ‘Yujin,’ and I want to name the baby after her… but the pronunciation is too hard. So, let’s go with ‘Yuri.'”
Despite her young age, Iris showed a genius for languages. Even though Themis felt a bit jealous, she nodded in agreement, showing that she liked it.
“Yuri… sounds good.”
“Right, Themis? It suits both boys and girls.”
Olivia hugged both Iris and Themis at the same time, kissing their soft cheeks. And that’s how the youngest’s name was decided.
Yuri was born healthy. She was, as expected, a girl, and everyone burst into laughter. On the day Yuri was born, the house was filled with joy.
“Hello, Yuri.”
Themis, who had been playing with Matthias, rushed over and carefully took the baby’s hand. Yuri, who hadn’t opened her eyes yet, grasped Themis’s hand tightly. Themis held her breath, looking like a startled fish.
“Now, we all have to protect this baby. We’re her big sisters, so we can do it, right?”
After the youngest was born, Themis, perhaps influenced by Iris, seemed to mature even more. She looked serious and determined.
“Of course!”
That day, Themis was warmer than ever before, and in the future, Yuri would grow closest to her out of all the sisters. This relationship would greatly impact the history of both the Marchioness and Duke’s families.
* * *
“Marsden, what are you doing?”
“Did you wake up?”
Olivia, who had been dozing off, rubbed her eyes and woke up. The children had gone to the royal palace to play, leaving the two of them to enjoy a rare moment of relaxation in their bedroom.
“Yeah, but I had a dream that felt like a premonition. It was so vivid; it’s strange.”
“What was it? Now I’m curious.”
Marsden closed the book he was reading and kissed Olivia on the forehead. Olivia started to chatter about her dream.
“Lizzy grew up to become the head of the Charbert family, and, guess what, the Crown Prince of Katlan was courting her, causing a huge stir. In the end, they couldn’t live without each other.”
After that incident, Katlan successfully changed their royal dynasty and managed to maintain their status as a kingdom, much to the empire’s relief.
“And then Themis became Celeste’s apprentice and became the captain of the First Royal Knights. Matthias kept sticking by her side, and eventually, she became the Crown Princess.”
“As their father, my heart already aches.”
The mere thought of his daughters getting married made Marsden frown. Olivia gently tapped his cheek.
“Iris became the head of the Duke’s family, but she was so dedicated to her studies and work that she got married late. But she married a very handsome older man.”
“Well, at least there’s that. It’s his first marriage?”
Olivia burst out laughing at Marsden’s joke.
“Yes, he’s a quiet and gentle man like Iris. He had a long unrequited love for her and eventually confessed, leading to their marriage.”
“That’s a relief. And what about Yuri?”
Yuri was probably toddling around the royal palace by now, always sticking to Themis.
“Yuri helped Lizzy and Iris but had a rather ordinary marriage, having many children. One of them became Iris’s adopted son and heir. Do you know what his name was?”
“What was it?”
Olivia snuggled deeper into Marsden’s arms.
“Servo.”
“……”
“Servo Marsden.”
Servo Marsden was Marsden’s older brother’s name.
“…That’s incredibly detailed. It really feels like a prophetic dream.”
Although he joked, his voice was tinged with emotion. Olivia pressed her cheek against Marsden’s chest. Thump, thump. It was a pleasant sound.
“And we continue to live happily together, smiling with faces full of wrinkles.”
Marsden buried his face in Olivia’s hair and held her tightly.
“If that’s the case, then that’s all we need, right?”
Marsden asked Olivia, and she answered.
“Yes, it’s more than enough.”
