“Don’t you like it when I call you Hwi-gang?”
“It’s not that I dislike it,” Hwi-gang replied, tucking Seol-ah’s sweat-dampened hair behind her ear, “but I was hoping for something a bit sweeter. Why not use some of that creativity you have for ad planning to come up with a new nickname?”
Seol-ah tilted her head slightly, pulling the blanket up to cover her completely bare body.
“Aren’t there already standard terms of endearment?”
At her words, Hwi-gang slid his hand under the blanket, cupping her soft br*ast.
“Standard, you say?”
“Yes. Isn’t it usually things like ‘oppa,’ ‘honey,’ or ‘darling’?”
Hearing this, Hwi-gang suddenly sat up and moved back on top of her. Seol-ah jumped in surprise and at that moment Hwi-gang suddenly spread her legs again and gently stroked her p*ssy with his palm.
“Ugh, wait a minute, we’re talking.”
“Yes, talk with your mouth and I will do this.”
Hwi-gang said as he pushed his now fully er*ect p*nis into Seol-ah’s v*gina.
“Hmph, if you do this, you can tell the story ahhhhh, like…”
Seol-ah’s waist twisted spontaneously as the hard, hot, steamy p*nis pushed up her v*ginal opening and buried deep inside.
It was then. His mobile phone vibrated, and Hwi-gang quickly pulled his p*nis out of Seol-ah’s p*ssy and picked up the phone. He did this because the only person he knew who would call him this late at night was his grandfather.
Seol-ah also sat up, her expression tense. When she checked the phone, she saw that it was none other than Secretary Hwang, who could only be described as her grandfather’s right-hand man.
“Yes, Secretary. What’s going on?”
[Yes, Young Master. The Chairman’s condition has suddenly worsened, and he has just been taken away by the ambulance. You should head to the hospital immediately.]
“Understood.”
Hwi-gang ended the call and quickly got off the bed. Seol-ah, without asking any questions, also got up and went to the bathroom.
“Did he say Grandpa collapsed?”
“Yeah, let’s hurry and wash up. We need to move faster.”
“Okay.”
At Hwi-gang’s words, Seol-ah stepped into the shower booth with him. They were both completely n*ked, washing each other, but given the situation, there was no excitement at all.
They quickly washed up, concentrating on the essentials, and splashed water over the rest of their bodies before quickly stepping out. Entering the car park, Hwi-gang jumped into the sports car he had given Seol-ah, knowing it was the best choice for fast driving.
“Let’s go, Hwi-gang.”
“OK.”
Seol-ah fastened her seatbelt as the car sped off.
Noticing how tense Hwi-gang was, gripping the gear shift tightly, Seol-ah reached over and took his hand.
“Hwi-gang, calm down. You might get into an accident if you keep driving like this.”
“Yeah, I know.”
He replied, covering her warm hand with his and giving it a reassuring squeeze. With that, Seol-ah finally felt a sense of relief and withdrew her hand.
The 12-cylinder Lamborghini roared as it cut through the darkness, speeding along the road.
Thirty minutes later, Hwi-gang and Seol-ah parked the car and got out. While Hwi-gang needed to slow down to let Seol-ah keep up, his worry about his grandfather’s critical condition made him walk ahead on his own. Seol-ah struggled to match his long strides, nearly jogging to keep up.
[You can proceed to the intensive care unit.]
Having received Secretary Hwang’s message, Hwi-gang headed straight for the ICU. When he realized Seol-ah wasn’t able to keep up, he paused for a moment and waited for her, taking her hand as she approached.
Even though it was the intensive care unit, family members were allowed to enter the VVIP room. Hwi-gang knocked formally before opening the door.
“Grandpa!”
His voice automatically rose in pitch. Seol-ah quickly rushed to the bedside where Chairman Kang lay.
“Grandpa, I’m here.”
Hwi-gang took his grandfather’s hand, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to spill. There was still plenty of time left before the one-year prognosis was supposed to be up. The last time they visited, after the wedding and honeymoon, Chairman Kang had seemed in fairly good spirits.
“Is that you, Hwi-gang?” the chairman said, slowly opening his eyes and speaking weakly.
“Yes, Grandpa. I’m here. Are you feeling okay?”
“Yes, seeing my Hwi-gang and my grandchild gives me strength.”
Chairman Kang forced a faint smile as if he had no strength left.
“I want to see my great-grandchild before I die, but I wonder if that will be possible. It seems that Heaven isn’t allowing me to be greedy, especially since there’s still no news of a baby.”
“That’s not true, Grandpa. I promise I will make sure you hold your great-grandchild in your arms. So please, don’t say such weak things.”
Hwi-gang said, gripping the chairman’s hand tightly, looking him in the eyes with determination.
Inside, Chairman Kang thought, ‘Then hurry up, you fool.’ But on the outside, he looked so frail that it seemed as if he might take his last breath at any moment.
“Yes, yes. You need to stay strong. And you all need to keep your spirits up too.”
“Yes, Grandpa. We’ll do our best, so please hold on for as long as you can.”
“Yes, thank you. But since you’re here in the hospital, shouldn’t you have a check-up?”
“A check-up? What kind?”
Hwi-gang asked.
“A pregnancy check-up.”
“!”
At his words, Seol-ah exchanged glances with Hwi-gang. As she slowly blinked, Hwi-gang spoke up.
“Okay, Grandpa, we’ll get the test done.”
Seol-ah felt unable to voice any objections. Seeing her grandfather-in-law, who appeared so frail that it seemed he could pass away at any moment, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse. Secretary Hwang, feeling guilty towards Hwi-gang, tried to steer the conversation in a different direction.
“Chairman, perhaps it would be best for you to rest now.”
“Yes, but let me know the test results first. What are you waiting for, Hwi-gang? Hurry up and go to the OB-GYN for the test, then let me know. Hearing some good news would lift my spirits.”
“Yes, I’ll do that. Secretary Hwang, please take good care of Grandpa.”
“Yes? Oh, yes, please don’t worry about me. Just go.”
Secretary Hwang replied, unable to meet Hwi-gang’s eyes as he bowed his head. The deep sense of guilt he felt made it hard for him to look directly at Hwi-gang.
“Let’s go, Seol-ah.”
“Okay.”
Hwi-gang took Seol-ah’s hand. He, too, found it odd that there hadn’t been any news of a pregnancy yet. Having a child before his grandfather passed away had now become the most important project in Hwi-gang’s life.
Exiting the cancer ward, Hwi-gang headed towards the obstetrics and gynecology department. Since the hospital was part of the LJ Group’s medical foundation, the owner’s family could receive care at any time, even without an appointment.
“Let’s go in.”
Secretary Hwang had already contacted the department, so Hwi-gang went straight into the office of the on-duty obstetrician.
“Welcome, Executive Director Kang.”
Upon receiving the call, Chief Obstetrician Kim Pil-yong stood up quickly to greet Hwi-gang.
“I apologize for the sudden request for an examination, but it’s quite urgent.”
“I understand. I’ll check on your wife first.”
“Thank you.”
Kim instructed the nurse to conduct a urine and blood test on Seol-ah, who then followed the nurse out of the room.
