Male Lead, Please Dump Me Three Times - Chapter 37
My brief consultation ended with little to show for it.
Ellie said she still had things to do and left the room.
Only Dermian and I remained in the spacious room.
“So, Dermian, why did you come?”
“Ah, that. I saw Sister Delian yesterday. I came to talk about that.”
“What? Where?”
“Met her when I went to see Ian.”
“Really? How did she look?”
“Well…. She didn’t look good.”
“Really…? You saw her yourself?”
“Yeah. Just for a moment? Ian dragged me to briefly see Sister Delian. But it was so embarrassing to look at her that we just greeted and left.”
“Tell me more.”
“It seemed like she might be malnourished. But it seemed like a rough guess. Maybe because she throws up everything she eats.”
“What? Malnourished?”
“Yeah. That’s what they said. They can’t help it if she can’t eat anything.”
“I see…….”
“Just thought you’d be curious, so I told you. Now rest. It’s late.”
“Right. Oh, right! Are you going to the villa with mom and dad?”
“Why would I follow them there…… You’re really clueless…. Ugh, never mind.”
Dermian sighed heavily, shaking his head.
“I might be able to sleep over at a friend’s this weekend. Just so you know.”
“What? Which friend.”
Dermian asked me, furrowing his brow.
“You wouldn’t know.”
“Don’t just sleep out on a whim now. Don’t recklessly put yourself in danger.”
“Got it. Just this once. Now get out.”
Dermian grumbled as he opened the door and left.
In fact, until just before, I had planned to use Delian as an excuse to sleep out for the weekend.
But having heard about Delian’s condition from Dermian… my conscience wouldn’t allow it.
“Delian’s sickness…… It must be because of Killian, right? It can’t be for any other reason…….”
I couldn’t help but worry.
If Delian has been sick for a long time, and if it’s for some other reason…….
The symptoms of Delian’s illness that Dermian mentioned earlier.
Those symptoms overlapped with the symptoms of magical manifestation mentioned in the original work.
I took out the purple book placed on the nightstand again.
Still, nothing was visible.
“First, I should go see them again tomorrow. While I’m at it, I should also visit Delian.”

When I opened the heavy door and entered, a familiar old woman greeted me.
“You’ve arrived.”
Huh? What? Does she recognize me?
I haven’t said anything yet…….
Surely she can’t see in front of her…….
Is it just a greeting for a guest?
“Uh…. do you remember me by any chance? I bought a book a few weeks ago. A history book with a purple cover.”
“Of course. I remember you. Did you encounter any problems?”
The old woman’s eyes were still closed. She asked me with a gentle smile.
“It’s that… the book doesn’t have any content written in it. Just faded yellow pages, and no text at all, could the book be faulty?”
With a bit of hope, I flipped through the book once more as I spoke.
But still, there was no content visible.
“A book, you see, always has its rightful owner.”
“Huh?”
“There must be a reason why the book has come into your hands.”
“Uh…….”
Could it be…… is this a roundabout way of saying no refunds?
“Even if it’s not visible right now.”
The old woman spoke cryptic words to me.
“So, can it be seen? If there’s another way to see the content, could you tell me?”
“Well, if it’s not visible to the owner’s eyes……. I don’t have a specific method either.”
“Is that so? That’s troublesome…….”
“If I’ve caused you any discomfort, I will refund the price of the book. However, there’s no need to return the book.”
“Oh! No, that’s okay. It’s already in my hands anyway. I just brought it because I thought maybe there was something wrong with the book.”
It seems like I worried over nothing.
The old woman very willingly offered to refund me for the book.
I felt embarrassed for having doubted her even for a moment.
“Miss.”
“Huh?”
“It would be best if you keep that book with you at all times.”
“Carry it around all the time? This book?”
“Yes. It might be a matter of time… but it seems like a good idea.”
The old woman once again gave me a kind smile.
Thus, I left the place again with nothing much gained, thinking to myself.
‘There’s a reason? What does that mean?’
But……
Clearly, there was nothing written… Would the text suddenly appear?
It doesn’t seem like a spellbound grimoire or anything.
It doesn’t seem like it, but……
I still couldn’t resolve my doubts and left the place.
With a heavy heart, I decided to take a walk through the market streets to clear my head.
“No matter how much I think about it…… she really feels familiar. Where have I seen her before?”
I felt it last time too, but I kept feeling a familiar aura from the old woman at the bookstore.
But after recalling everyone I know, there was no one who resembled that old woman.

“Sister!”
A boy with silver hair ran towards me from afar.
“What’s up, you always happen to be here when I come. It’s like you’re always waiting just for me.”
“It seems so. Maybe there’s something between me and you, Sister Daisy.”
Ian showed a sunny smile as he teased me.
I stopped by the florist and handed Ian a basket of flowers I bought.
“Can you hold this? I heard Delian couldn’t eat anything, so I bought her a basket of flowers.”
“Wow. It’s beautiful? My sister will really like it.”
Ian’s eyes sparkled as he looked at the yellow roses, which matched the color of his irises exactly.
“Really? That’s a relief. I’m going to see Delian; do you want to come with me?”
“Yes! Of course. I’d love to.”
We chatted about this and that as we headed to Delian’s room.
Delian appeared in the gap of the opened door. As soon as she saw me, she hurried over with quick steps.
She looked a bit frail, but fortunately, she seemed to have recovered enough to walk on her own.
But Delian was still thin.
“Daisy?!”
“Yeah. Long time no see?”
“What are you talking about? You came last week too. Wow…, what’s this? Yellow roses?”
“Yeah. I heard you couldn’t eat anything… so I bought it hoping it would cheer you up. Do you like it?”
Delian buried her nose in the basket of flowers she held in her hands. Then she closed her eyes and began to smell the scent of the yellow roses.
“Yes. I really like it. Thank you, Daisy.”
Delian showed a languid smile as her lips relaxed.
“Oh, Ian came with me too.”
Ian was awkwardly trying to hide his large, unmistakable body behind my back.
Delian looked at Ian with indifferent eyes and said,
“Come in too. Don’t just stand there looking all awkward.”
Soon after, Delian took my hand and led me to the table.
Come to think of it……
This was the first time the three of us had gathered since the academy graduation ceremony.
“Delian. Do you still have no appetite?”
“Yeah. I guess so. I think I’ve gotten used to it.”
“You still need to eat something. You’re still so thin.”
At my words, Delian let out a light sigh and said,
“I just don’t feel like eating at all. But I’m sleeping a bit better than before. I got a prescription for sleeping pills.”
“Sleeping pills?”
“Yeah. Better than being in pain…… I thought it’d be better to just take medicine and sleep.”
I was concerned that Delian had to resort to sleeping pills.
“Are you still not feeling well?”
“Yeah. It’s hard to bear with a clear mind…… My body feels too weak.”
“Well, as long as you’re comfortable. So, you’ll be okay if you keep taking the medicine and get treated for a while?”
“Yeah. There’s no specific diagnosis. It’s just stress, so it should be okay.”
Suddenly, I felt a strange sense of déjà vu.
“Daisy?”
“Uh, yeah?”
“Don’t worry. It’ll probably get better with time.”
“Yeah……”
I nodded and responded to Delian’s words.
As I stopped talking, a brief silence followed.
Ian, who had been like an invisible person up until then, took this opportunity to say something to his sister.
But I couldn’t hear any of their words or focus on the conversation.

“It seems right after all……”
Nausea and lethargy.
Those were the premonitory symptoms that appeared in Delian in the original novel.
My mind became unnecessarily complicated.
If my prediction is correct…… then this is actually good news.
It’s definitely good news but……
“Why do I feel so weird?”
It felt like there was a congestion in my chest, making me feel suffocated and constricted.
With my head spinning and my heart in turmoil, I couldn’t easily fall asleep.
Deep into the night.
My room was fully illuminated by bright moonlight.
The moon was so big that it felt like I could touch it if I reached out my hand.
I blankly stared at the moon.
I was tired but, strangely, couldn’t fall asleep.
Counting sheep didn’t help, nor did counting rabbits.
Frustratingly, time seemed to pass very slowly today.
I wish this meaningless time would pass quickly.
I hoped the time to meet Ray would come soon.
I slowly opened the eyes that I had forcibly shut. The clock on the wall pointed to three in the morning.
Only three hours were left until the time I promised to meet Ray.

The FL is very frustrating. A proper functioning adult with zero emotional intelligence… do people like these really exist in real life? It’s a common trope in many fictional works… Making the FL or ML utterly dense when it comes to feelings. Is that something people find attractive?
And how does no-one around them tell them what’s up? They all be just “you understand nothing” and just leave it at that!
