‘The distance seems farther than I thought. How should we go?’
Adelia thought as she rubbed the windowsill.
There were various types of magic for traveling.
The magic that could cover the longest distances was teleportation magic.
‘As long as you know the coordinates, you can go anywhere, but I don’t know the coordinates of the cave.’
Next was the teleportation stone. It was the method Adelia used most frequently. While it couldn’t cover long distances like a teleportation magic circle, it could travel far if teleportation stones were placed along the way.
‘This method is only possible if I had placed a teleportation stone in the cave beforehand. So, that’s not an option either.’
And the shortest was teleportation. It allowed travel to a thought-of location without coordinates, but the effective distance was short and it couldn’t be used consecutively.
‘Teleportation doesn’t have enough range. All three options are difficult.’
Adelia squinted her eyes, looking at the darkened sky.
It was night, so there was nothing illuminating the sky except the moonlight.
When she lowered her head slightly, she saw the sea with rough waves. Like before, thick fog lay heavily over it. It looked so eerie that it could be believed to be a passage to hell.
After a moment of contemplation, she climbed onto the windowsill. The height was so great that even Adelia hesitated for a moment since the mansion was perched on a cliff and the bedroom was on a high floor.
At that moment, Lucian approached and grabbed her wrist.
A deep wrinkle formed between his thick eyebrows.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m going to get the holy sword.”
“Weren’t you going to teleport?”
“The distance is farther than I thought. We have to fly.”
Adelia spoke as if it were the most natural thing.
Not knowing the coordinates, not having a teleportation stone, and the distance being too far. From the beginning, there was only one method. Since it was too high to walk, flying was the answer.
The only reason she hesitated was that the scenery below the window was more terrifying than she had expected.
“Then how do I go?”
Lucian asked in a grumpy voice.
“Even though I have magic, I can’t use it.”
Everyone possessed either magic or holy power. But only a very few could become mages or priests among them.
However, if one reached a high physical state, they could elevate their magical power or holy power into an ‘aura.’
Lucian also used an aura, but an aura only enhanced physical abilities; using magic was a different matter.
Therefore, it was impossible to fly with an aura. Even if the body was strengthened, it couldn’t make a person fly.
“Who do you think is in front of you, Your Highness?”
Adelia let out a small laugh, blowing air through her lips.
Despite being weakened due to the restrictions, Adelia was a white mage.
A white mage standing at the highest point, beyond the reach of aura, magic, or holy power.
“I’ve never heard that white mages specialize in flight magic.”
Lucian asked with a doubtful face.
Thanks to his tall stature, he could see outside the window even from a distance. At a glance, it looked so ominous that it seemed perfect for disappearing without a trace if one fell.
“So you don’t trust me? If you can’t trust my magic skills, how can you trust other mages?”
Adelia playfully extended her hand towards him.
“Hold on.”
Moonlight descended upon her head. Her silver hair fluttered in the wind, shining brilliantly.
The single word she calmly uttered from her red lips was firmer than ever.
Her face, bathed in soft light, was adorned with a playful smile.
Lucian silently looked at her. It wasn’t contemplation but a brief admiration. The answer that would follow had been determined from the beginning.
“…Excuse me.”
Lucian had no choice but to take her hand.

Lucian stood by the window, holding Adelia’s hand.
With one hand, he grasped the window frame, and with the other, he held onto the windowsill, kneeling on one knee.
He swallowed hard and looked down.
“It’s high. I can’t even see the sea.”
From this vantage point, the eerie landscape was even more visible.
Thick fog lay below the cliff. Combined with the dark night background, it looked like a passage to hell.
Lucian’s eyelashes fluttered rapidly. He gripped the window frame tightly. He moved stiffly, tense.
In contrast, Adelia was quite relaxed. Without any fear, she dangled her legs outside the window. Although it was higher than usual, she was used to spending time by the window.
“Well, it’s the edge of a cliff. Considering the location of the mansion and its height, it’s high.”
“Aren’t you scared? It’s so high.”
“If I fall, I’ll just die.”
Adelia’s eyes wrinkled as she gave a nonchalant smile. It was a very hollow smile.
Lucian couldn’t tell if it meant she wouldn’t fall from here or if she truly wasn’t afraid of death.
He just found the voice that spoke of death so lightly unpleasant.
“Is it safe?”
“Of course. As long as the caster’s magic isn’t interrupted, there’s no risk of falling. Is this your first time flying with magic?”
“…You speak as if it’s the most natural thing. It’s common to go through life without ever seeing flight magic.”
Lucian frowned and spoke.
Flying magic was one of the spells that consumed a lot of mana. It was inefficient, so even mages rarely used it.
“Is that so? It’s certainly not a popular spell. Shall we get going then?”
Adelia stood up, brushing off her clothes.
She grabbed the window frame and stood by the window, looking somewhat precarious.
Her silver hair fluttered in all directions in the gentle breeze. Adelia tucked her hair behind her ear with one hand.
Her blue eyes, filled with complex thoughts, sparkled.
Her long eyelashes fluttered, swallowing the blue hue.
Adelia threw herself out of the window.
Although he knew she was using magic, Lucian felt his heart drop.
Unconsciously, he reached out his hand. It was his instinctive feeling that he had to catch her.
“I told you I wouldn’t fall.”
Adelia turned around and looked at him with a bright smile on her moonlit face.
‘Truly otherworldly.’
Lucian admired the scene before him.
The bright moon hung in the pitch-black night sky. Against that backdrop, the silver-haired woman floating in the air shone beautifully as if she alone were basking in all the light.
Pure silver hair, fairy-like beauty, and blue eyes that always faced him straight.
She looked too divine to be human, yet too genuine in her emotions to be a god.
Even if someone painted this scene, no one would believe it was real.
“Come on, come here.”
Adelia said in a warm voice, extending her white hand toward him.
A contact for the transfer of mana.
Lucian stood up and took her hand. Along with the warmth, white mana flowed into his body. He felt his heart flutter, and his whole body felt lighter.
Relying on her smaller hand, he trusted her and stepped into the air.
“Amazing. I’m floating in the sky.”
There was nothing beneath his feet. He was just existing in the dark night sky, using the air as a foothold.
He raised his hand toward the sky. It was a fascinating experience to see the sky from mid-air.
“Right? It’s not an easy thing to do. You can let go now. Want to try moving?”
At her words, Lucian loosened his grip.
The warmth of her hand disappeared, but he could still feel the remaining white mana.
Adelia stepped back a few steps and nodded for him to come over.
Lucian moved his legs as he would when walking normally. But his legs didn’t move well, as if something was pulling him down.
“At first, it’s hard to…. What! How are you so good at this?”
Her red eyes scanned him up and down in disbelief.
Lucian shrugged at her words.
“My limbs don’t move well, but I just need to put more strength into it.”
“Is this the difference talent makes? It’s a bit unfair.”
It took Adelia a whole week to move freely using flying magic. Her limbs, lacking muscle strength, struggled to move in the air.
She spent all day in the air, going through countless magic books, before finally getting the hang of it.
Now, she moved more comfortably in the air than on the ground, but it was the result of a tough process.
“I’m naturally good at physical activities.”
“Well… okay. But if you keep moving like that, you won’t even get muscle pain tomorrow. Who am I worrying about?”
Adelia grumbled for no reason. She felt a bit, just a bit, unfair. How could they be so different when they were both human?
“Let’s go quickly. We need to return before the sun sets.”
She turned her head with a pouty face.
Lucian chuckled and followed her.
* * *
Flying magic was faster than walking. It didn’t take long to reach the cave.
When they arrived at the cave, Adelia retrieved the white mana she had given him.
Lucian stretched his limbs, feeling a bit stiff after landing.
Meanwhile, Adelia approached the entrance of the cave.
