Anaïs was a brown-haired assistant at an unremarkable detective agency.
One day she opens a letter that arrived for her employer in his place and falls into another world.
[Welcome to 〈Survival and Betrayal〉.]
[You are Player B.]
[Find a Player A you like and form a pair.]
Before she can even adapt to the system, monsters attack her,
and while fleeing injured,
Anaïs desperately begs for help from a player she encounters by chance.
The sharp-featured man who ruthlessly dealt with the monsters
asks with a villain-like tone, utterly cold……
“Are you Player A?”
“……I’m B.”
[Player A Roderick requests to pair with you.]
Seeing the name that appeared in the system window, Anaïs realizes belatedly.
The man fiercely pointing a shotgun at her
was the missing mafia heir,
none other than Roderick Cortez.

“When I get out of here, I’m going to get married first. To a man who finds joy in ordinary but small things, and who doesn’t smoke……”
“Is there even a man who would marry you?”
It was a painfully sharp point. What kind of man doesn’t even wish someone luck? How very affectionate. Why did she once think this man seemed warm-hearted deep down?
“I’ll have to look for one. When I get out of here!”
With so many men in the world, how could she not find just one to marry? She declared that since she was lonely as an only child, she would have one son and one daughter. Though she wasn’t excited at all, she raised her voice as if acting excited.
“I can’t tell if your dream is big or modest.”
Roderick twisted one eye. He seemed to find her plan pathetic. Or perhaps he thought she wouldn’t achieve it anyway—one of the two.
He didn’t wish her luck until the end and refuse, nor did he tell the pleasant lie of suggesting they marry each other. Anaïs had to swallow down the sincere thought that she wished it could be him. She was overwhelmed by anxiety that something terrible would happen if she voiced those words.
Something even more terrible could happen. Anaïs thought her heart wouldn’t be able to endure it. She shook her head and spoke to him in a subdued voice.
“Anyway, kissing is off the table. You hate it. Just put it in and finish.”
Though it would be more comfortable for both of them to finish quickly, Roderick glared at her with a displeased expression.
