Chapter 19
‘This feels strange.’
For some reason, Elena thought she would feel relieved once Little One was gone.
It had been more exhausting than she expected to be tied down to him all day during the Festival without any free time to herself.
But now that she was thinking about parting ways with Little One, she felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
—No, it’s not even a bond. No matter how well you treat him, he won’t remember anything! Once he returns to where he belongs, he’ll forget everything within a few days.
Would Little One completely forget about me after we parted ways, just as Felix had said?
Would he not remember me feeding him soup, dancing with him at the festival, or playing tickling games with him?
Even the time I had mustered up my courage to change his diaper?
Elena hoped he would forget about meeting Anguis, but if he forgot everything else about his time with her and Felix, she thought she might feel a bit sad.
Raising her upper body, she lightly kissed Little One’s round forehead.
“Sweet dreams.”
“Mmm.”
As if in response, Little One smacked his lips.
