I fell asleep while reading a novel, only to wake up as one of the characters in the book.
Of all people, I became Karin Wendis, the villainess who stands between the male lead Luke and the female lead Alicia!
‘What do I do now? And I didn’t even finish the book! I fell asleep before getting to the end!’
In the last part I read, Karin, the original owner of the body I possessed, was plotting to kill the heroine by locking her up and setting the place on fire.
‘No way, I won’t do it. I absolutely won’t!’
Fine, I’ll just make sure the male and female leads get together, stay out of trouble, and avoid being a villainess altogether!
Karin thought that if she did this, everything would work out.

After the attendants left, the door clicked shut. Luke, who had been staring at the door, slowly turned his gaze toward Karin. Her body flinched instinctively.
‘This… wasn’t supposed to happen. How did things end up like this?’
Something was wrong. By now, the male and female leads should have been happily together, and she should have been out of the picture. Instead, she found herself spending her first night with the male lead. Karin froze in place.
Luke’s lips curled into a faint smile.
“Why are you so tense?”
“…I don’t know about you, Your Grace, but this is my first time.”
“It’s not ‘Your Grace’ anymore, but ‘honey’ or ‘darling,’ isn’t it? Aren’t I your husband now?”
Luke stepped closer to Karin as he spoke.
“Relax.”
His lips curled into a smirk.

This is the best short story on this website, Fr.
The pacing -though full of time skips for keeping it short- was decent.
The persona of fml was so good, she was mature and wise, yet felt human, sometimes stubborn, sometimes impulsive. She talked honestly and didn’t brush off his actions.
The ml though he started off bad, his character developed hugely from a cold, rude, shameless s3x offender to a real gentleman, supportive husband, good future father, and a rational and admirable leader for his people. I would’ve hated it if he threw away all considerations and possibilities forcing her to stay with him. Instead he acted as he should.
This is love. You gotta step back when it’s necessary for the happiness of your love. That’s i loved the relationshipbetween them it changed and developed slowely like a strong tree, it took roots and time to grow. But it turned out pretty solid. They thought of eachother before themselves, yet they didn’tsacrificethemselvesor anyone for eachother, which felt so real. AND THEY COMMUNICATED SO WELL I WAS SHOCKED. Especially the fml i was like, is this real? A fml who speaks well and says everything that should be said in r-18 k-novels??? They had proper boundaries, and went rationally.
The hot scenes were also planned well, though the author wasn’t really good at writing them, she did a good job, and it was all consesual too. I also like how they really were awkward and held back the first few times they did it. It felt more relatable, (than them doing it nonstop and have it perfect without any awkward feelings). And i wanna add those scenes weren’t forced into the story, weren’t exaggerated, didn’t overdo it. Like i get tired of novels where evry three chapters they have to do it, easily (ykwim).
In conclusion make sure to give it a try. I enjoyed this novel very much. Thank you for the translation, Adeline (or fin).
