“Ariel, let’s break off our engagement.”
Ariel is left speechless when her fiancé suddenly demands to end their engagement.
What’s even more absurd is his reason for the breakup.
“I can’t imagine living with someone as lifeless as you.”
Though innocent and virtuous, Ariel feels unjustly accused. Her fiancé spreads the story far and wide, tarnishing her reputation as a dignified noble lady and branding her as a “lifeless stone.”
Fearing that the rumors will disgrace her family, Ariel decides to counteract the gossip with an even bigger scandal.
She approaches a man she has always despised for his debaucherous behavior.
“Please spread rumors that I’m not emotionless.”

“Sleep with me once. Then I’ll spread those rumors for you.”
Left with no choice, Ariel reluctantly accepts his proposal.
But after spending the night together, the Marquis begins acting strangely.
“Why are you trying to put your clothes on?”
“Because I need to leave now.”
“……Who leaves right after doing it just once?”
Ariel blinks, staring at Latnon as though asking him to explain what’s wrong.
Latnon, unwilling to miss this opportunity, passionately argues his case to convince her.
“You might not know this well, but usually after spending the night, people bathe together and sleep together too.”
“Ah, I see. But the Marquis and I aren’t in that kind of ‘usual’ relationship, are we?”
