Chapter 2 (Part 7)
The next morning at 7 AM, it was the day Meia would leave for the Mage Tower.
And she would be traveling by cruise ship.
Though she could quickly reach the Mage Tower by teleportation, she decided to take the cruise ship because she wanted to see more of the sea.
Currently, the Mage Tower is in Teillon, where it snows all year round.
The Mage Tower has a will of its own and changes its location frequently.
The reason for the location change is related to the birth and death of the Tower Master.
Otherwise, if all the wizards in the Mage Tower feel danger, it can move to high mountains or deep under the sea.
Feeling excited, Meia packed her belongings into a magical subspace.
“Master will be happy when he sees me, right?”
After a simple breakfast, Meia put on a navy blue robe and left the hotel. She came down slowly, hoping to run into Theodore, but she didn’t see him.
‘I’ll meet him again somewhere.’
Theodore had also said he needed to go to the Mage Tower.
But wanting to enjoy the sea and the feeling of travel, Meia arrived at the cruise ship that the hotel had booked for her.
Since she had booked a VVIP room, the butler and maid came out to personally escort her to her cabin.
“Lady Hatzbellua, thank you for using our cruise ship. If you ring this bell, we will knock and enter at any time.”
The butler’s name was Asen, and the maid’s name was Anna.
“Please take good care of me while I’m here.”
“Yes.”
“Yes, Milady.”
After changing into lighter clothes, Meia went up to the deck.
The seagulls flying in the cool sea breeze looked like a painting.
The view of the sea from a high cliff and from a ship felt different.
After staring at the sea for a while, Meia was brought back to her senses by someone calling her.
“Lady Meia!”
‘Who on earth is calling me?’
She turned her head to see that man, Theodore, standing there.
He was waving brightly at her.
Thinking she must have been mistaken, Meia pressed her eyes and looked at him again.
“It’s not an illusion…”
“Lady Meia!”
Seeing Meia, Theodore smiled brightly and approached quickly.
Aethon, his aide, was also behind him.
“I greet you, Lady Hatzbellua.”
“Hello. Grand Duke Theodore, and Aethon.”
Theodore was smiling brightly at Meia, while Aethon left with an inexplicable expression.
‘Look at his face turning red again.’
Seeing him blush made Meia impulsively want to tease him.
His red face stood out even more as his black hair fluttered in the wind.
“I didn’t expect you to be on the cruise ship, too.”
“Yes… I have urgent business… I’ll see you later.”
Theodore quickly backed away from Meia’s gaze.
‘What a strange man. His face turns red every time he sees me, and he looks at me cautiously…’
Taking her eyes off the direction Theodore disappeared, Meia felt the breeze on the deck and looked at the sea again.
“The sound of the waves is nice.”
The cruise ship set sail, and in 15 days, it would arrive in Teillon.
Now, all Meia had to do was watch the flowing waves.
“Milady, I brought a blanket and chair. Please sit comfortably and enjoy the sea.”
It was Asen, who had been watching Meia staring at the sea.
“I wanted to sit down anyway, thank you, Asen.”
“I’m glad to be of help.”
Asen, having served as a butler for a long time, could understand the disposition of nobles just by looking at their faces.
So he felt that even if he took care of Meia excessively, she wouldn’t get angry, and he sensed that she had a gentle personality.
Asen spoke quietly to Anna, the maid next to him.
“She’s a good person.”
Anna nodded in agreement with Asen.
Meia thought it would be quite boring just to sit and look at the sea, but it wasn’t at all.
Seeing the sea she had only studied in books with her own eyes made her heart swell.
‘It wouldn’t be good if only I saw something this nice, right?’
“Juan.”
Juan emerged from Meia’s dark shadow.
Asen and Anna, standing behind her, were startled by Juan’s sudden appearance but didn’t show it.
“Juan, it’s your first time seeing the sea, right? I called you to see it.”
“Thank you for your consideration, Milady.”
“Enjoy it.”
“Yes.”
Standing behind Meia, Juan glanced around.
On the deck, only VVIP guests were assigned dedicated maids and butlers.
A dazzling lady, using the VVIP room, appearing wealthy and beautiful, naturally drew attention on the deck.
And Meia was very accustomed to people’s gazes.
He felt the dark, lustful desires from the eyes of the men staring at his precious lady.
They were looking at her with lustful eyes.
‘Filthy bastards. How dare they look at her like that.’
Not only that, but she also saw the man named Theodore trying hard to get involved with Meia.
‘Damn pests.’
From one to ten, nothing about the surroundings pleased her.
Juan looked around and sent a murderous glare at the men staring at Meia.
One by one, the men on the deck either left or stopped sending lecherous glances at Meia.
“Juan.”
“Yes.”
“Are you chasing away flies?”
“Yes. I sprayed repellent without making it obvious…… I’ll be more careful next time.”
Feeling guilty that Meia had sensed his intent, Juan bowed his head.
“No, you’re doing well. But if you want to chase away flies, spray more repellent.”
In other words, make sure to drive them away completely.
“Understood, Milady.”
As soon as he received permission, Juan began to scatter his murderous intent. When all the men on the deck had withdrawn their gazes from Meia and disappeared, Juan smiled with satisfaction.
“The wind feels good.”
Enjoying the wind to her heart’s content, Meia felt at peace.
Without any thoughts, she sat there blankly, staring at the sky and the sea.
Alternating her gaze between the sky and the sea, Meia noticed the sky darkening and looked at Asen.
“Asen, it’s suddenly getting dark around here.”
Asen explained to Meia.
“The weather at sea is very capricious. It looks like it’s going to rain, so let’s go inside the cabin. Anna, please escort the Lady.”
“Yes, Sir Asen.”
As soon as Anna finished speaking, raindrops began to fall one by one on the deck.
“That’s unfortunate.”
“If the weather improves, you can come out again. For now, you should go to your cabin before it starts pouring.”
“Alright.”
Since it would take about fifteen days to reach Teillon, she planned to enjoy the sea as much as she wanted during that time.
Inside her cabin, Meia took out a portrait of her parents from her magic bag and placed it by her bed.
For some reason, it felt like she was traveling on the cruise with her parents this way.
Outside, the sound of rain began to knock on the window.
“Watching the rain like this is nice too.”
Meia spent a long time staring at the scene of the pouring rain meeting the sea.
