The Holy Lady, The Curse - Chapter 6 Part 9
The fourth intercourse was different from the previous one. It was because Bellota, having lost her sanity from the start, had lost all memory of it. As a result, Bellota did not remember Seiden ejaculating countless times inside her and her clinging to him, sobbing that she liked it each time.
She only remembered that she felt no pain, and the curse had been completely lifted, leaving her feeling refreshed. It was bewildering but it was also a relief. If it was something she had to go through anyway, it was better not to remember it at all. Sometimes, she felt she might have made embarrassing moans, so Bellota decided not to remember the previous night.
Of course, Bellota did not know that Seiden had used oil this time, so she did not know the decisive reason why her memory of the previous night’s intercourse had disappeared. Bellota, who had climaxed more times than Seiden had ejaculated, fell asleep, seemingly fainting, when she could no longer move a finger.
Seiden, too, fell asleep without realizing it, staring endlessly at Bellota, who had fallen asleep leaning on him until dawn. Seiden, who had briefly closed his eyes in such a defenseless state, woke up with a start when he noticed the weight of Bellota in his arms had disappeared.
“……!”
Realizing this, Seiden quickly got up and looked around urgently. The room was filled with a brilliant red and blue light, as if dawn was breaking.
“……”
His heart, which had plummeted, only regained its function after he saw Bellota standing in front of the large window in the tower.
“Ha…”
Finally letting out a sigh of relief, Seiden slowly brushed his hair back and looked at Bellota again. Bellota was standing with her back to him, gazing at the view outside the wide-open window. Brilliant dawn light was pouring down over her head.
“……”
Seiden, who silently watched Bellota’s precarious back, which seemed like it would shatter if touched, soon picked up a thin blanket from the bed and walked towards her. Even as Seiden approached Bellota with quiet steps and draped the blanket over her cold shoulders, Bellota continued to look outside the window without any movement.
The breathtaking view of the Selento coastline was spread out beyond the window. It was a sight that they couldn’t have seen if not for this situation, but Seiden paid no attention to such a spectacular view and only looked at Bellota.
Her eyes, bluer than the sea, were calmly settled. The anxiety and fear from yesterday were no longer visible. Despite this, Seiden was somewhat uneasy because he couldn’t tell what Bellota was thinking.
The two full moons were an incredible variable. And Seiden and Bellota now knew that the full moon that appeared a few days ago was not a coincidence. If it had been a coincidence, if the moon’s cycle had naturally changed, there shouldn’t have been a full moon last night.
Unbelievable as it was, someone had artificially manipulated the moon’s cycle. And probably, the reason for such an act was to use Bellota’s curse. Therefore, the possibility that someone was behind this curse and threatening the temple and Bellota had significantly increased.
So Seiden was anxious. In this worsened situation, he feared Bellota might push him away again. Bellota, who struggled with performing such acts once a month, might break down and despair at the consecutive intercourses and give up everything. Seiden still had no intention of giving Bellota to anyone.
As he pondered how to change her mind if she said she wanted to end this secret relationship again, Bellota slowly opened her mouth.
“Do you know the origin of the curse?”
The question, thrown in a calm voice, was something Seiden had not expected at all, so he looked at Bellota with a stiff gaze. Even though Seiden did not answer, Bellota continued to speak.
“They say the curse is dark magic created by demons to control humans at will. They wanted to deceive smart and clever humans to make them their slaves, but humans wouldn’t fall for their tricks, and even if they did, they used their wisdom to escape. This was a headache for the demons who wanted to rule the world.”
Her soft voice mingled with the cool dawn breeze and scattered thinly. Seiden silently listened to her words, looking at Bellota’s profile, who was still gazing at the sea.
“The demons, desperate to dominate the human race, begged the demon god to reveal a clever plan. The demon god lent some of his power to the demons and taught them how to cast curses.”
Seiden had also heard stories like that somewhere. That the origin of curses was ultimately the demon god and that its power, too, was from the demon god’s.
“With that evil power, the demons cast spells on humans, binding their bodies, controlling their lives, and ultimately ruling their souls. The demons rejoiced. Now, the dignity of all humans was in their grasp.”
“……”
“Even after the demon god fell and the demons were exterminated, that evil power did not disappear. What controlled my body yesterday is proof of that.”
The humans, despairing of the demons’ curse, prayed to the Holy God, and the Holy God responded by granting them the power to oppose the demons. That was holy power. However, this curse was strong enough to bind even the saintess who inherited the power of the gods.
Bellota’s voice was as calm as the ripples on the distant sea. But while listening to her story, Seiden’s chest continued to tighten with anxiety. Why was Bellota telling this story? Was it because she realized that she ultimately had to succumb to the curse?
No, no. Bellota’s curse would not be eternal. He was ready to tell her this fact if necessary, but Bellota slowly turned to Seiden. As Bellota’s dry lips began to move, Seiden’s jaw clenched tightly. However, the words that came out of her mouth were, once again, something Seiden didn’t expected.
“I will not stand by and watch as those who fell a hundred years ago bind my body and take away my dignity.”
Seiden’s eyes froze as he was about to prepare a response to those words. He realized that there was a faint fear in Bellota’s eyes looking at him. Nevertheless, those delicate eyes did not waver at all.
“The thought that I have to handle this all alone…”
Bellota’s serene voice, which he wanted to listen to until the end of the world, trembled slightly at the end.
“I have decided not to think that way anymore.”
Those firm words pierced Seiden’s heart, which had been frozen in a daze. The sea breeze, still cold enough to feel chilly, gently brushed his face, but Seiden did not blink at all. He just stared intently at Bellota, who was more radiant than the dawn.
“I need you now, Sir.”
The moment Bellota confessed with courage, Seiden felt the ground beneath him becoming dizzyingly distant. Something firmly bound his feet and was pulling him down helplessly. Even as he sank into a deep swamp from which he could never escape, Seiden’s heart swelled slowly.
“Now, I must face a power strong enough to move the moon. I will not avoid it. So please…”
A power strong enough to move the moon. Just recalling that fact made the fear of that moment repeat itself. Bellota paused for a moment and swallowed her trembling breath. Soon, regaining her composure, Bellota made a desperate and resolute plea.
“Help me.”
Before she even finished speaking, Seiden nodded his head in response.
It was natural. It was only natural that he would help Bellota. That he would support Bellota’s will.
“I swear on the honor of the Blackwood family to stand against the saintess’s curse.”
Even as he made his solemn vow, Seiden did not take his eyes off the dazzling woman before him for a moment. The sun rising behind her, her light brown hair blowing in the sea breeze, her firm and unyielding blue eyes that contained fear, sorrow, tension, and immeasurable pain but never shed tears, made Seiden’s heart ache and rejoice.
“I will give everything to help the Saintess. I will not leave the Saintess alone.”
At his grand vow, a faint smile of relief and gratitude appeared on Bellota’s lips, which had been tense until then. That smile melted Seiden’s heart sweetly.
His foolish worries seemed unfounded. He had stupidly forgotten that Bellota Rosebeth was the strongest woman of all. It was fortunate that it was he who was needed by this strong woman. That it was he and no one else. Bellota did not need to make such a request to him. He had already pledged everything to her long ago.
Seiden’s heart was finally submerged in the thick, deep swamp from which it could never escape. Seiden decided to willingly accept this blissful curse. This brilliant curse from which he could never escape.
As the sun finally rose high in the sky, it shattered brilliantly over Bellota’s head. Seiden stood silently, watching that beautiful sight.
