- The Trashy Male Leads are Obsessed With Me
- Chapter 14.1 - The Boundary Between Reality and Dreams (1)
“Come on! Let’s go to bed!”
The best time when the three men gathered was at night. No one does anything.
Why should I be thankful that I can sleep at night?
“I really want to sleep.”
“Really? Then go to sleep, Liri.”
As I shed a few tears, a startled Yuno hurriedly laid me down on the bed, while Dietrich hesitated with the buckle.
A very peaceful night began, and fortunately, I was able to sleep well.
That night, I dreamt for the first time in a long while.
Hmm?
It was a police station, and familiar faces appeared. Mom, Dad, my younger sibling… and my senior?
“My daughter, where have you gone?”
“Mom, don’t worry too much. My sister is someone who can manage anywhere.”
“You shouldn’t say that as the younger sibling…!”
Mom slapped my sibling on the back.
Thwack!
With the crisp sound, I could be sure that my sibling would have a palm print on their broad back. Normally, they would have grumbled, but they only rubbed their back quietly.
What’s going on? Why are you acting so out of character?
“But who is that handsome young man?”
“Hello.”
My senior greeted them politely, and my sibling introduced him to Mom.
“Oh, he’s a senior from the same school. He’s the last person my sister met before she went missing.”
The senior was apparently summoned as a witness since he was the last person to see me before I disappeared.
He greeted my parents politely, and I could see Mom’s eyes sparkle momentarily.
Looks like her handsome radar is working.
No, Mom. Your daughter is missing, and you’re noticing a handsome face? Huh?
…Well, if it’s my mom, who knows?
While they were chatting casually, the senior pointed to what my sibling was holding. In their hand was the very book I last held.
It was “Let’s Live Together!”
I guess they brought it because it was the last item I left behind when I disappeared.
“Um, can I see that book?”
My sibling hesitated at the senior’s question.
Don’t give it to him! Absolutely don’t!
I have grand dreams of returning to school!
“Well….”
“It might be meaningless, but it could help me find a cherished junior. I’d like to read it.”
“Well, will you return it after reading it? After all, it’s my sister’s relic…….”
“You brat, calling it a relic!”
Mom smacked my sibling’s back. My sibling seemed to be cursed, as I silently wished for their well-being amidst the crisp sound from their back.
But seriously, flipping through that book… Ah.
It felt like the world was ending.
The senior’s expression turned strange as he took the book and saw the title.
Wow, I think my heart just stopped. I want to wake up from this dream, but why can’t I?
This is a lie, right? This is a dream… isn’t it?
It has to be. Otherwise, it can’t be.
The thought of the senior seeing that! I can’t believe it, and I don’t want to believe it.
“I’ll bring it back soon, so don’t worry. Mother, I’m sure that child is alive. Don’t worry.”
The senior calmly reassured Mom, who began to lean on him and started to sob. It was clear that she moved unconsciously upon seeing his face.
Meanwhile, my dad, who had once been handsome, glared at the senior or nervously eyed Mom.
I tried to think lightly about it, but my parents’ faces were pale. Their worry was evident.
Upon closer inspection, my sibling’s jawline had sharpened too? Oh my.
I believe I can leave this world. I’ve met the male protagonists, but I never calculated that they would know my identity.
However, through their summoning of me, I confirmed the existence of the door.
So, I was convinced that I could meet my family again. I thought I was just on a temporary trip.
But now that I saw my family, whom I had been trying to avoid thinking about, a wave of longing surged up.
I’m here. I’m watching you from here.
I could open my mouth, but no voice came out.
I was merely an ‘observer.’
There was a time when the detective asked various questions and got answers. My senior was still waiting, sitting on a chair in the police station, looking at the novel I wrote.
He seemed to skim through the first few pages before flipping back rapidly.
I couldn’t tell exactly where in the book he was, but it seemed to be around the last chapter based on the remaining pages.
After finishing the book, my senior’s beautiful lips parted. It seemed he was muttering unconsciously.
I heard it clearly.
“Ah.”
It was definitely an exclamation of understanding.
As he continued speaking, even though I was wrapped in blankets, I felt goosebumps all over.
“The ending…”
My senior bowed his head deeply. He covered his mouth with his fair hand, but I could see his eyes and lips curving into a line.
In his eyes, which always shone with kindness, there was a mix of joy and—
“…I see.”
Madness.
“Ugh.”
With a sudden jolt, I sat up straight. My body trembled.
Even in the dream, that familiar face was the one I knew, but it was a completely new expression. And it felt as if he knew the story I wrote…
Was I mistaken?
Is this a dream, or is it reality?
“What’s wrong, Master?”
The ever-alert Seth sat up and asked. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and licked my neck with his tongue.
“Oh dear, you’re trembling.”
His hand, which had been on my shoulder, slowly moved down my back.
“You’re soaked. Why are you sweating so much?”
Seth carefully lifted me out of bed.
“I’ll give you a shower.”
I nodded, not even knowing what he was saying.
The novel I wrote, “Let’s Live Together!”
In the world of the novel, there is a door.
It is an entrance and exit to another world, and one can come here from another world or go to another world from here.
The place I was trying to go to earn money wasn’t described in detail in the book, but I knew of a door.
It was the one guarded by a dragon at a place called ‘the End of the World.’
But besides the door I knew, there was another door.
It was the place on the cliff where the male protagonists summoned me. That place with strange stone statues was definitely a door as well.
Of course, just knowing where the door is doesn’t mean I can travel between worlds.
“If you shower, you might catch a cold, so I’ll dry you off with a towel. Can you sit here?”
“Okay.”
I vaguely answered to someone’s words.
The way for the female protagonist to go to another world was that she was a ‘dimension traveler.’
To go to another world, certain conditions are needed, namely, ‘Do you have something related to the place you want to go?’
It could be an object or something abstract.
In my case, even if my appearance changed and became part of this world, my soul is definitely from my own world, so I can return to my world.
The female protagonist is similar.
But such cases are extremely rare, and usually, an object serves as a medium.
The book I wrote, which I have no idea why it is here, is a prime example.
I have written two books.
One is “Let’s Live Together”, and the other is “The Chronicles of Litrie Extri.”
