Prologue
At the three-way intersection in Banho-dong alley, there was an old supermarket called “Alley 25 O’Clock.”
The place had been open for more than thirty years, but about a year ago, it was remodeled into a café-style convenience store, and the owner changed as well.
Yujin, now the owner of the newly renovated “Alley 25 O’Clock,” was conducting part-time job interviews today, just as she did any other day.
“So… Mr. Go Eunwoo? You’re applying for the convenience store part-time job, right?”
Yujin sat across the cafe table, staring blankly at the man’s picturesque face, one corner of his mouth faintly raised.
His neat eyebrows, long and sharply defined eyes, the beauty mark at the tip of his high nose. Even when he wasn’t smiling, the corners of his mouth curved upward as if he were, drawing attention.
But what surprised her wasn’t just his rare good looks.
It was the overwhelmingly impressive resume she held in her hand that made her uneasy.
“Graduated from Princeton University in the US, worked at Google, and recently in the planning department of L Company here…?”
“Yes.”
“…And now, you want to work part-time at my convenience store?”
“Yes.”
“For a part-time wage of 9,860 won?”
“Yes.”
As Yujin repeatedly asked, the man who introduced himself as Go Eunwoo answered calmly once more.
At this point, Yujin had to ask.
“Why?”
“Because I fell for you.”
“…Pardon?”
His tone was calm, but the words were so absurd that Yujin doubted her own ears.
“I’ve fallen for you, Boss.”
The man said it again.
When she frowned and looked him up and down, a faint smile flickered in his eyes at her honest reaction.
Yujin was dumbfounded.
‘When did he ever see me?’
Is he crazy?
