Villain Eaten By The Hero - Chapter 71
CHAPTER 71
When she told him that wasn’t always okay, Seo chuckled and smoothed out her tangled hair.
He ran his thumb over his moistened lips and tugged on his pajama pants. The thinness of his pajama pants made his bulge stand out more than usual.
When Belze stared at that spot, Seo pulled the covers over him with a smirk, hiding the bulge.
“It’s because it’s morning.”
“Is that so?”
“I don’t get aroused seeing people soaked and sick from the rain.”
“Really?”
“It’s a natural reaction… Why were you alone trembling at the convenience store?”
Seo quickly changed the subject, and Belze felt like she should retort, asking why he turned the conversation around, but her emotions sank with his words.
She wanted to make light of it, but she couldn’t. She pulled the pillow closer to hide her darkened face.
“I was fired.”
“He said you were his beloved subordinate.”
Belze was about to burst into tears at his words, but Seo quickly tapped her shoulder to stop her. She buried her face in her pillow, swallowing back the tears that threatened to form.
Seo turned the conversation once again.
“But you still have money, right? You have received your salary, and you also had money from the companies you’ve extorted.”
“I spent it all fighting you, and it’s gone as fast as it came in for new machines and new materials.”
“Aren’t you worried about the future?”
“What kind of a villain would I be if I had saving for retirement?”
That was a valid point. Seo nodded, closed the curtains, and started to get dressed. An alarm began ringing on the bedside, indicating that it was almost time to go to work.
“I had money, but I lost my card. That’s why I was a little lost.”
She heard a muffled response as she buried her face in the pillow. Unable to continue being gloomy like this, Belze lifted her head. Seo, now dressed in a hero uniform, was tying his tie. With thick, black pants, the bulging cr*tch seemed somewhat concealed.
“You going to work?”
“Yeah.”
Belze, who alternately looked at the uniform and the bulge, asked. Her next words were naturally angry.
“I’m in this state, and you’re going to work? If I’m fired, you should be fired too! You’re a hero who lost his ethics for pl*asure! Shameless bastard! You’ll regret it a hundred times for sleeping around!”
“Why the change of heart now when you said it only counts as one time? And I’m also going through disciplinary procedures, so stop feeling unjustly treated. I’m going to go out today and get investigated.”
“You should be fired too.“
Anger flashed across Belze’s face as she threw his pillow. It would be unfair to be fired alone, but sharing her frustration with Seo seemed like a weight off her shoulders.
“If you get fired, why don’t you become a villain? It’s perfect for your personality.”
“Become a villain if I get fired? Don’t be silly.”
Seo, wearing a neatly pressed tie, mocked as he let go of it.
“Being fired means getting locked up in a maritime prison. Even if I get released, I’ll probably spend my life with a tracking device and constant surveillance.”
A silver tie pin was neatly inserted into the dangling tie. Even while talking about prison, Seo had a calm expression.
“The government’s not stupid enough to let a hero with classified information become a villain.”
Seo has made a lot of issues but hasn’t been fired yet. It was partly because he skillfully danced within the boundaries of the law, and also because his abilities were deemed essential.
To put it another way, losing someone like Seo would pose a serious threat. It was evident how the government would react in the face of such a threat.
Even if they belonged to the same villainous organization, the guilt wasn’t equal. The boss was relentlessly pursued, facing threats to his life, and Belze was the top priority for arrest. At best, she’ll get a 3 or 4-year sentence.
If it were Seo, he would probably find himself in a more harsh situation than the boss, who had been pursued for decades.
It was not a path that even Belze could easily recommend. At the very least, it was too harsh a consequence for the privilege of multiple encounters. It was no one else’s business, but Seo’s.
Belze rose to her feet, stealthily avoiding Seo’s eyes.
“Get dressed properly and eat.”
Belze tucked her legs into the pants he’d washed and pulled on the sleeveless shirt and large tee he’d laid out for her. She checks her bag nearby and finds its contents untouched.
“You can fine me all you want. I’m going.”
“Where are you going? You wandered around getting w*t because you had nowhere to go.”
“It was bad timing! Do you know who I am? I’m the sworn enemy of every villain in Meteor City. I’m wanted by every organization. Don’t worry, I’ll have money once I get my card replaced.”
In truth, she had no way to get the card reissued, and she had been rejected by every known organization. Still, she didn’t want to make a fuss about it.
She still has eight thousand won in her pocket, so it’s not like she’s going to die. Besides, she didn’t know what would happen to Seo, she didn’t want to be a burden on him for too long.
Cameras and prying eyes are everywhere. It would certainly be used against him.
Having spent one night indebted to Seo, it was reasonable to leave now. Belze, taking a sock from Seo’s drawer, finished preparing to leave.
Seo, not knowing the details, didn’t try to stop her. He was both amused and pleased that she seemed to think she could go somewhere else. It was troublesome, but…
“Don’t go too far.”
Still, Seo said something. It was his own way of saying ‘Be careful’.
“DDD is out to get you, and other organizations are after you too, and you’re not strong enough.”
“Isn’t it against hero ethics to let villains go after worrying about them?”
“…It’s still before work hours.”
When Belze pointed out the ridiculousness of his worrying about her, a lame excuse came back. He shrugged and handed Belze two 50,000 won bills.
“There’s a private cafe just over the intersection. The owner there isn’t observant and is tight-lipped.”
“And?”
“You don’t even have a place to stay yet, and I’m half to blame for that, so I can let you stay for another day. I’ll be stopping by on my way home from work.”
Seo, who claimed by saying “Belze said she wants to sleep with me,” had gotten Belze fired.
“Do you… really know you’re not qualified to be a hero?”
Belze, who claimed by saying “Seo said he wants to sleep with me,” caused Hero Ravi to be interviewed by the disciplinary committee.
*
The phone screen showed 11 o’clock.
Seo, who had been tormented by the disciplinary committee all day, wrote a report letter after working hours and then attended a company dinner.
Although it was officially a meeting on countering new villainous organizations, it was essentially a drinking session to comfort Seo. Those who had ultimately decided on Seo’s disciplinary action didn’t like him being present. so it was a chance to say things like, ‘You know I have nothing against you, my kid is a fan of yours, you’re still young, you might make a mistake on a one-night stand, I get it’, etc.
Everyone present outranked Seo both in position and age, so as someone disciplined by the committee, Seo couldn’t avoid the situation. Thanks to that, he drank quite a bit, and by the time he arrived at the intersection, his head was completely muddled.
With a hazy and fuzzy head, Seo thought about many things.
Did Belze come to that cafe? Had she stopped by just as I was getting out of work but left, cursing at me for not showing up? Did she hear anything?
Reason gave off a red light in response to every question. Belze would not have come.
She’s strong enough to stand up after a hundred defeats and smart enough to back up her towering ego. She may have seemed vulnerable last night, so he brought her home, but today she probably found a decent place to go.
The assumption that she would come in the first place is strange. They’d slept together several times and although they were on relatively good terms, their relationship was casual.
Seo liked Belze. She was still annoying, always turning things upside down, but he didn’t want to lose her if possible. He still likes her.
But sweet chocolate rots your teeth. If you drink enough, you become an alcoholic, and if you smoke long enough, you become a nicotine addict.
The world is filled with fascinating yet threatening things, so people should live by practicing restraint.
So, they liked each other but didn’t go too far. They were hero and villain living their own lives. Going beyond that would only complicate things for both of them. So…
“Ah!”
Still, just in case, Seo moved his feet towards the darkened cafe, and a clear voice reached his ears.
“Ah, you’re here now?”
Belze, who had been crouching on the small steps, jumped to her feet. Despite shivering without a coat, she was trying hard to hide her discomfort and smile.
Seo’s pupils widened. He couldn’t believe that Belze had come, that she had waited for him until now.
“Have you been waiting all this time?”
“I didn’t wait that long. I came a little while ago.”
It couldn’t be true. If she wanted to see Seo, she’d have to come in time to get off work.
From 6:00 to 11:00, she would have waited for Seo who didn’t show up. Feeling deceived and betrayed, she wouldn’t have gotten up from her seat, continuing to wait.
Maybe due to the alcohol, his vision blurred, and his head involuntarily dropped. Then, he saw Belze’s small hands, now red from the cold, and a takeout cup with a beverage, the liquid gently rippling.
When his gaze reached them, Belze held out the cup with a trembling hand. It might have been hot initially, but now it only had a faint warmth left.
Belze looked up at Seo apologetically and smiled.
“I meant to give it to you while it was still warm, but it’s gone cold now.”
The moment Seo saw that smile, one thought crossed his mind.
It’s over.
No more debating his feelings, no more weighing which was more important.
What he thought was a small stream of emotions turned into a massive river, engulfing a tall house up to its roof. Now, he can’t ignore it anymore, and he can’t run away from it. It’s over.
