Adrianna tightened the hand covering Lucas’s mouth once more and whispered.

“Please stay still……! At this rate, we’ll get caught.”

If a rumor spread that the Imperial Prince and his fiancée had secretly spied on the teachers’ intimate lovemaking, it would truly be dreadful.

Lucas was one thing, but her own dignity, which she had maintained so carefully until now, would surely fall to the ground as well.

‘That cannot happen.’

As Adrianna shuddered while imagining the worst-case scenario, an unexpected thought came from Lucas.

-This is the first time Adrianna and I have been this, this close together…….

He was recalling the soft breath that had brushed so near his ear just moments ago.

She could feel through her palm that, in his agitation, he unconsciously drew in a sharp breath. He seemed to hold it for a moment, and then suddenly his face turned red.

Tap tap, light footsteps passed by Adrianna and Lucas. Soon after, the librarian also passed by without noticing them.

Until then, Adrianna could not bring herself to move. It was because Lucas’s face, so close before her, felt unfamiliar.

If either of them moved just a little more, it was a distance where their lips would overlap.

As though their minds had both gone blank, the two remained silent. A suffocating stillness continued.

Unable to endure the feeling of her chest tightening, Adrianna turned her head away. Once those blue eyes were no longer in sight, she could feel the nameless emotion that had been stirring her heart quickly subsiding.

From Lucas’s eyes as well, the dimmed l*st faded, and clear intelligence began to return.

“Adrianna……. Um….”

What was he trying to say? Adrianna was curious about his thoughts, but she stubbornly refused to turn the head she had already angled away.

At her words, Lucas only then became aware that he was dreaming.

Lucas cursed himself for getting excited and standing at attention below over something like this.

‘It’s all right. Don’t be afraid. I studied everything.’

But the Adrianna in his dream, unaware of this, kept tormenting him.

‘What do you mean you studied everything!’

As if this were the sort of thing one got used to by studying!

‘If you stay still, I’ll take care of it.’

As soon as she finished speaking, Adrianna suddenly pulled down his trousers.

Her lips had come so close, yet they would not quite touch the place he longed for, and the frustration was unbearable. Just as Lucas, unable to stand it any longer, wrapped a hand around Adrianna’s head—

“My goodness! Imperial Prince!”

A shrill voice shattered his sweet dream.

The heavy haze weighing down his mind rose in a rush back to reality.

Startled, Lucas snapped his eyes wide open and glared at the unwelcome intruder who had awakened him at such a crucial moment. Image management be damned, his anger had risen all the way to the top of his head, and his expression refused to relax at all.

His personal maid was staring at him in shock, but all he felt was resentment toward her for interrupting that fleeting time with Adrianna.

“How insolent……!”

It was the moment when, unable to bear it, he sprang to his feet to say something to her.

“Huh?”

Something warm trickled down from his nose.

“Uh, I-I’ll bring a physician right away!”

The hurried footsteps of the maid quickly faded into the distance.

Lucas blankly stared at the nosebleed dripping onto the white blanket.

Just a dream…….

And not even one where the real act had properly begun……, just one of those dreams that was wholesome and yet not wholesome, and he had burst a nosebleed in his sleep over it.

If Adrianna found out, how much would she tease him? It was truly dreadful. He could vividly picture her mocking face.

And even more dreadful than that was the fact that, at a time when he ought to be sinking into self-loathing, his lower body was still stiff and standing, very much not dead.

As if denying reality, Lucas squeezed his eyes shut.

The aftermath of what had happened in the library was returning to him in a deeply humiliating way.
