First of all, thank you for the translation! You did a great job.
Overall, this is a really good story. I loved the world-building, the magic system, the battles, and the different abilities. The explanation behind the system was especially well done. The novel has a great balance between comedy and more emotional, high-stakes moments. The action scenes are exciting, especially the final battle against the last boss. The romance is beautiful as well. I do wish there had been a little more content in the side stories, but I was still very satisfied with how everything turned out. 8/10
That said, I do have one major criticism.
I’ve never been as frustrated with a female protagonist as I was with Louise. I’m usually very forgiving toward FLs because of all the suffering and trauma they go through. However, after Chapter 139, it felt like the author forced drama at the expense of Louise’s characterization. Her actions became inconsistent and completely disproportionate to the situation.
I understand that both she and Alec needed to uncover the truth, but did it really have to happen this way? The story is already full of fantasy and magic, so the author could have come up with a more believable way to move the plot forward. Louise is literally a transmigrator who never revealed the truth about herself to anyone. So why would she be so unwilling to accept something similar happening to Alec? Why does she immediately become angry and make such drastic decisions instead of being patient and talking things through? It just didn’t make sense, and it was incredibly frustrating.
I also felt that this part of the story trivialized taking one’s own life, which made it even harder to appreciate.
Fortunately, this drama is fairly short. Everything is resolved within about ten chapters, so it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Even so, it leaves the impression that it was completely unnecessary.
Despite that, I don’t regret reading this novel at all. Aside from this section, the rest of the story is very well written and thoughtfully developed.
