On The Wedding Day, My Husband Suddenly Changed - Epilogue 2
Epilogue 2
Sophia and Killian enjoyed their late honeymoon. The place they visited was a villa built on land granted by the King. The villa had a lake and walking paths, making it a perfect place to enjoy leisurely time.
The villa was also close to the village, so a short carriage ride would allow them to explore the village.
After arriving at the villa and unpacking, Sophia and Killian went to explore the village first.
“Look at this. It seems like sea bass is a local specialty here.”
From fresh to dried, each shop sold different kinds of sea bass, and Sophia pointed at them with astonished eyes.
“Yes. Sea bass dishes will also be on our dinner table tonight.”
“Really? I’ve never had it fresh from the source before. Can I look forward to it?”
“Of course.”
Killian’s eyes dripped with affection as he looked at Sophia. He was now treating her differently than before, no longer hiding his feelings for fear of burdening her.
Sophia, who was more excited than usual, clung to his arm as if she wouldn’t let go for even a moment.
Even though they had spent time together like this before, there had always been a sense of awkwardness. But now, with the wall between them completely gone, she acted without hesitation.
After exploring the village, they returned to the villa and strolled along the lakeside, which sparkled with light. The gentle breeze from the lake tousled Sophia’s hair.
With a smile on her lips, Sophia chatted away happily. In the middle of her enthusiastic chatter, she pointed in a direction, and at the end was a small boat.
“There’s a small boat there? Can we ride it?”
“If you wish, anytime.”
“Oh, not today. Seeing that boat reminded me of when we watched the fireworks together.”
“Oh, that time.”
Killian’s lips curved slightly as he recalled that moment.
“Do you remember the rumor the knights talked about back then? They said if lovers watched fireworks together on a small boat, their love would last forever…”
As she reminisced about those happy times, Sophia suddenly stopped speaking.
“Did you take me to the village festival back then because of that? Because you wanted that to come true?”
Sophia pointed her finger at Killian this time, and he responded with a smile instead of words.
From his expression, the answer might have seemed ambiguous, but seeing his ears turn red, Sophia realized he had intentionally taken her to the village festival back then.
Her husband looked so adorable in his embarrassment that she wanted to tease him a bit more.
“Did you silence the knights back then because you were worried I might hear about the rumor?”
Sophia chattered excitedly about the events of that time.
Killian, who had been silently watching her, approached and tilted his head to cover her lips with his. Although she knew it was a kiss to hide his embarrassment, Sophia did not refuse.
The gentle kiss gradually became more passionate. Killian persistently and intensely entwined her. As their heated breaths mingled, Sophia savored the joy he brought her.
When their breathing became ragged, their lips parted, and as Sophia regained her senses, Killian knelt on one knee before her, kissing the back of her hand.
Not understanding the situation, Sophia blinked, and Killian presented a small box he took from his pocket. Inside was a one-carat diamond ring, reflecting the light brilliantly.
“I wanted to give you a wedding ring.”
“But we already have wedding rings.”
Weren’t the rings exchanged at the wedding the wedding rings?
“Since I prepared nothing for the wedding, it has always bothered me.”
It seemed that Killian had been troubled by the preparations made for the marriage with Clive.
“Though it’s too late to say this now, I feel I must. Will you stay with me for the rest of our lives?”
Killian respectfully knelt on one knee.
“Of course.”
Sophia removed the ring she was wearing, smiled, and extended her hand, and Killian slipped the ring onto her left ring finger. The ring fit her hand perfectly.
“Now that you’ve received my ring, I suppose you can discard the old one.”
Before Sophia could even relish her joy, he tried to take the ring she was holding. She had worn the wedding ring deliberately for their date, but it seemed Killian didn’t like it much.
“Do I really have to throw it away? To me, it’s a ring filled with memories of you.”
“I dislike it because it reminds me of Brother Clive.”
While it held memories for Sophia, Killian felt differently. So he tried to take the ring from her.
Seeing his jealousy-filled demeanor was so endearing that she deliberately didn’t hand over the ring. Since he had no intention of forcibly taking it, Killian knelt on one knee again.
“I have never changed, and I never will. I love you, Sophie.”
“I love you too.”
With only happiness ahead, the eyes of the two looking at each other were filled with overwhelming joy and eternal love.
