Anna was the maid and midwife who had delivered both Royan and Chesar. Yvonne was quickly moved to the delivery room, and shortly after, Anna arrived.
“There’s a risk of infection, so everyone else please leave immediately.”
“…Alright.”
“You there, bring clean towels and hot water!”
Jackal was practically chased out of the delivery room.
He stood awkwardly in front of the slammed door for a long while, pacing anxiously whenever he heard Yvonne’s screams from inside.
His hand twitched as if he might burst through the door at any moment.
Royan and Chesar were beside him.
Royan approached Jackal and firmly gripped his sleeve.
“Father.”
“Royan.”
Jackal knelt on one knee before Royan.
Royan looked anxious, and Chesar, who had drawn closer, wore the same expression.
Jackal finally realized that he shouldn’t be showing such anxiety.
“Will Mother be alright?”
“She’ll be fine. You know how strong she is.”
Jackal embraced Royan and Chesar, comforting them with his gentle voice.
He no longer showed any signs of anxiety.
Only then did Royan and Chesar’s uneasiness begin to gradually subside.
After several hours of labor, a powerful baby’s cry was finally heard.
Jackal waited eagerly for the delivery room door to open.
At last, the door opened and Anna emerged with a kind smile, saying:
“Both the baby and madam are safe.”
“…Thank goodness.”
Jackal finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Before entering the delivery room, he said to Royan and Chesar:
“It’s getting late, so you two should go to bed. You can see your sibling tomorrow.”
Given the chaotic situation, Royan nodded and pulled Chesar’s arm.
“Let’s go, Chesar.”
“Okay…”
Chesar followed Royan obediently, though with a disappointed expression.
Normally he wouldn’t have complied so easily, but he knew Royan’s judgment was correct in this situation.
After the children left, Jackal followed Anna into the delivery room.
The room was filled with warm heat.
Further inside, Yvonne lay on a large bed, breathing heavily.
“Yvonne.”
“You came?”
She couldn’t move a finger, having exerted so much strength.
When Yvonne gave a faint smile, Jackal hurriedly approached and took her hand.
“You really worked hard. I’m glad you’re safe.”
“I’m strong, you know.”
Jackal chuckled at her nonchalant response.
He didn’t deny it, as it was true that Yvonne was strong both physically and mentally.
Anna approached with a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.
“It’s a beautiful baby girl.”
Hearing it was a daughter, Yvonne’s eyes widened before breaking into a broad smile.
Anna carefully placed the baby in her arms.
Though the baby’s eyes were barely open and her skin was wrinkly, to Yvonne she was the most adorable and beautiful baby.
“I’m so glad you were born healthy, little one.”
“Uuu…”
“Nice to meet you.”
Yvonne chuckled and held the baby closer.
Jackal just stood there, not daring to touch the baby, only watching.
Anna tilted her head and asked:
“Duke, would you like to hold her?”
“Not now. She’s too small.”
Jackal frowned and shook his head with a serious expression.
To him, the baby seemed so tiny that he feared something terrible would happen if he applied even the slightest pressure.
Somehow she seemed even smaller than when Royan and Chesar were newborns.
Yvonne gave him an incredulous look before letting out a small laugh at his words.

The next day, Royan woke up with a start early in the morning.
He had been so eager to see his new sibling that he could hardly sleep the night before.
He had tossed and turned before finally falling asleep, only to wake up as soon as the sun rose.
Royan carefully slipped out without changing his clothes.
But as soon as he came out, he ran into Chesar, who was doing the exact same thing.
“Brother.”
“Chesar.”
Both were still in their pajamas with messy hair.
Only then did Royan realize his appearance was similar to Chesar’s.
“Are you going to see the baby too?”
“I was planning to, but I don’t think we should right now.”
After Yvonne became pregnant, Royan had started reading childcare books.
They stated that newborns are very vulnerable to germs, so one must always wash hands and be clean before touching them.
A chill ran down his spine at the thought that he might have made his sibling sick.
Royan looked at Chesar and said:
“The books say babies must be touched with clean hands.”
“What? Then we can’t go now.”
Chesar’s face fell in disappointment.
“And I don’t think we should go without our parents’ permission.”
“That’s… true.”
He was about to object but then nodded in agreement.
In the end, they decided to wash up properly and ask their parents during breakfast.
Royan, who had prepared much faster than usual, hurried to the dining room.
Usually, Jackal and Yvonne would already be seated, but today only Jackal was there.
Yvonne was resting in her room under Anna’s care after the difficult delivery yesterday.
Jackal’s eyes widened in surprise at seeing Royan arrive much earlier than his usual time.
“Royan, what brings you here so early today?”
“Father, may I go see my sibling after breakfast?”
Jackal’s lips twitched at the abrupt question, asked without the usual “Did you sleep well?” greeting.
Royan tilted his head, wondering why Jackal was smiling, then belatedly realized his mistake and hurriedly greeted him properly.
“Ah, um, did you sleep well?”
“Yes, Royan. After breakfast, wash your hands thoroughly and then you can go see your sibling. You know which room, right?”
“Yes!”
Royan nodded, his cheeks flushed with excitement.
Jackal felt pleased seeing his eldest son, who usually tried to appear mature, rarely showing such childlike behavior.
Following him, Chesar rushed into the dining room.
Before he could ask the same question, Jackal preemptively answered:
“You can go see the baby after breakfast and wash your hands thoroughly.”
“Really? That’s great!”
Chesar jumped with joy and quickly took a seat next to Royan.
They ate their meal with battle-like intensity.
They cleaned their plates completely, then left with a brief goodbye, rushing out of the dining room.
Jackal smiled wryly at the empty seats.
He also hurried to finish his meal and rose from his seat to check if Yvonne was having her breakfast properly.

Royan washed his hands with soap more than ten times.
Only after Laura, who was standing beside him, said that was enough did he dry his hands and hurry toward his sibling’s room.
When he knocked on the door, Janet, who had been hired as the wet nurse, carefully opened it.
“You’ve come?”
She smiled faintly and stepped aside to let Royan enter.
Somehow Chesar had also arrived and slipped in behind him.
This room had the best lighting in the mansion.
Warm sunlight streamed through the windows, and a mobile made tinkling sounds as it spun around.
Royan and Chesar immediately went to the crib and pressed themselves against it.
Inside the crib lay a fluffy baby, yawning widely.
Her hair was pink like Yvonne’s, and her eyes were a light green.
While they were absorbed in watching her, the door opened and Jackal entered.
As he approached, Chesar spoke up:
“Father, what’s my sibling’s name?”
“I was just coming to tell you that.”
He had just decided on the baby’s name with Yvonne.
Jackal carefully stroked the baby’s cheek with his finger and said:
“Charlotte. Charlotte Riesta.”
“Charlotte…”
Chesar murmured the name softly.
Charlotte blinked her eyes.
‘So my name is Charlotte Riesta.’
She stared blankly at the three faces pressed close to her crib.
Though they didn’t say it, honey was practically dripping from their eyes.
When Charlotte smiled happily, Royan and Chesar smiled back.
She recalled the voice of the deity in her mind, saying that in this new life, she would have everything she had wished for.
Charlotte didn’t try to force herself to remember her previous life.
There was only one thing she needed to focus on:
‘Being happy with my new family. And saving the child the deity mentioned.’
When Charlotte wiggled her tiny body, they smiled happily again.
Then, Royan carefully brought his finger close to her.
She stared at it blankly before grabbing his finger with her hand.
Seeing Royan’s delight made Charlotte feel good too.
‘I want to see Mom too…’
She thought her mother probably couldn’t come yet because she was still recovering, but Charlotte was eager to see her.
Just thinking about the words “mom” and “dad” felt awkward, but she was happy to have parents.
As if sensing her thoughts, Jackal spoke:
“Charl, Mom will come when a little more time has passed. So please be patient even if you miss her.”
Charlotte smiled brightly to show she understood.
As day turned to night and darkness enveloped the mansion once more, Janet, who had been sleeping next to Charlotte’s crib, suddenly opened her eyes wide.
