Epilogue
“That’s the painting Liz drew, you say.”
At the entrance of Winchester Estate,
Finley Garrett looked up at the portrait displayed in the most visible spot for visitors.
In the portrait, a small child was nestled in Valentine’s arms.
Liz stood beside him, smiling kindly yet confidently.
It was heartwarming to know that his once timid daughter had painted herself in such a manner.
Finley gazed at the painting with a heart full of emotions.
Two years had passed since the couple had returned to Winchester Estate after leaving for the villa.
Though time had passed, the moment they returned to Holt, they were met with the attention of countless people.
It was only natural. The divorce and remarriage of Winchester, particularly his marriage to a maid, was not something easily forgotten.
There were those who sought to exploit any gaps, and others who openly slandered them.
However, the couple overcame all those challenges wisely.
Now, no one doubted the position of the Winchester couple.
Finley’s eyes grew moist.
Standing beside him, Liz’s mother, Greta, clicked her tongue.
“My goodness. How much do you think that necklace in the painting is worth? Does Liz really own such a thing? Well, she’s certainly made it big. I even heard that the political circle is eyeing Liz…”
Finley clicked his tongue, refraining from responding.
However, on a day like this, he couldn’t openly scold her, so he naturally changed the subject.
“When is Liam coming?”
“Well, he’s unpredictable, but he’ll come eventually…”
At that moment, Gerald approached the two.
“Thank you for coming. Please follow me this way.”
With a polite greeting, Gerald guided the Garrett couple to the garden.
Though there weren’t many people in the garden, it was filled with beautiful things.
A band preparing for the ceremony, the fresh scent of grass, and flowers harmoniously arranged throughout.
The Dowager Duchess of Winchester, seated among the guests, turned her head to greet the Garretts.
“Welcome. They’ll be entering soon.”
At the end of the petal-covered aisle stood Liz and Valentine side by side.
Valentine’s arm was fully healed, as if nothing had happened.
Noticing the Garretts, Valentine whispered something to Liz, causing her to widen her eyes and smile brightly.
Finley also smiled warmly, waving his hands.
Moments later, the voice of the officiant rang out.
“Now, we shall begin the wedding ceremony of Miss Liz Garrett and Sir Valentine Winchester.”
The couple stepped onto the aisle.
Liz, dressed in her gown, wore blue shoes on her feet.
Though the heels were lower than the original, they suited Liz even better.
More importantly, they fit perfectly and looked comfortable.
The officiant addressed the couple standing at the podium.
“Does the groom vow to love the bride forever?”
Valentine gazed warmly at Liz.
At that moment, Finley let out a sigh.
“…Truly, it’s the same.”
The look in Valentine’s eyes now was exactly the same as in the portrait.
A gaze that was upright yet tender, and passionately fervent.
It wasn’t just Finley who noticed; murmurs of admiration arose from various corners.
Valentine opened his mouth to speak.
“Yes. I, Valentine Winchester, vow to love her forever.”
He clasped Liz’s hand firmly.
“My wife, Liz Garrett.”
Applause erupted as they shared a kiss. It was sweet and gentle.
As the couple began walking again, petals rained down on them, and music filled the garden.
It wasn’t like a broken record, endlessly repeating the same tune.
It was a living, dancing melody that would accompany them throughout their lives.
