To You, Who Burned Me

Selonia loved the emperor, but was condemned as a witch after a web of betrayal and deceit and burned at the stake.
She believed that everything had ended there.

As she instinctively stepped back, trying to read his intentions, the distance clearly displeased him. Kailos closed the gap in a single stride, leaning down until he stood dangerously close.

“I am offering to become your shield. I am willing to do so, Selonia.”

He carried on with his cool, familiar scent and his low, honeyed voice curled around her ears, tempting her to accept something she knew she shouldn’t.
