Villain Eaten By The Hero - Chapter 95

“Seo.”
Belze was okay with that. She would have been happy to sneak off with the hero, laugh, talk, and then go back and live as she had always done.
But Seo wasn’t like that. The day they watched the movie together, Seo said he didn’t like the ending. To Belze, it was a poignant ending full of lingering emotions, but to him, it seemed aesthetically lukewarm. So even now, he looks at himself with regret.
Only then did Belze truly face Seo’s emotions. She realized that what had seemed like honeymooning and budding romance was deeper than she had realized.
She thought he only liked her to the extent that he was willing to risk danger and hide her in his house for a while. She thought he was just asking her to stay with him for a while because it was fun, without really planning for the future. She thought he secured a place for her in the Hero Disaster Headquarters through the typical hero kindness and personal preference.
She just thought it was that simple.
He probably expected it to end like this from the beginning, running parallel paths. No matter how much they liked each other and got along, they were never going to get a “they were happily ever after” line.
So, she believed that Kim Seo, who knew her position better than anyone else, wouldn’t fall seriously in love with a villain.
Such a delusion would be so foolish. How stupid she must look to believe that he would love her to the point of heartbreak.
“I was foolish.”
But the delusion she had dismissed as foolish turned out to be true. Kim Seo liked her more than just playing with fire.
So much so that he genuinely wanted to live with her.
In the midst of the uncertain heaviness or joy of emotions deeper than she had thought, the anger and resentment gradually washed away from Seo’s face, leaving him numb.
Eventually, his face became an expressionless blank slate, and Seo released Belze.
With a face that seemed to have just sorted out his feelings, he mumbled.
“Go.”
As Seo, with a blank expression, leaped down from the building, Belze realized yet another fact.
She had just lost Seo’s love.
Something she’d never really had, and she’d lost it the moment she realized it.

[Do you know why Belze looks like that?]
“She has a reason, so let it go. She’ll be fine in time.”
[You know, but I’m not supposed to know?]
“Hehe, there are things the boss shouldn’t know. Interfering too much makes things go awry.”
With words like that, she shooed away the boss. There’s no telling what he’ll do if he finds out why Belze is so upset. This was the man who had declared war on an international organization just because he couldn’t reach Belze.
It had only been a short time since the battle with DDD. Since the higher-ups directed not to take on any more unnecessary risks, they hid Belze’s condition from the boss. Belze was in that bad of a shape.
Returning to their hideout with a small box, Belze, as soon as she arrived, burst into tears.
This time, suggestions of taking a bath, ice cream, and chocolate were of no use. She collapsed onto her bed and soaked it with her tears.
“Seo…”
Sobbing with sorrowful cries, she looked like someone who had unilaterally experienced a breakup.
As she sobbed while lying down, she choked on her tears. She sat leaning against the bed, silent, still crying when her heart didn’t feel relieved.
Crying is the best way to release emotions, so the people around her left her alone, only occasionally offering her ice cream or a piece of bread to eat.
Exhausted from crying, she gradually ate some food, but when the sorrow hit her again, she cried once more.
It was something Seo liked. It was something Seo had bought for her. It was something they had seen together in the advertisement. It was something her colleagues had bought for her the day after she had a fierce fight with Seo. It was something she had seen on the day when the higher-ups were having a meeting to plot against Seo…
No matter what she did, thoughts of Seo surfaced. Along with them, the indifferent expression he had at that time haunted her, stabbing her heart like a knife. It was so painful that she couldn’t think of anything else.
What she barely realized was that it wasn’t just Seo’s feelings towards her that tormented her. She hadn’t realized before how painful it was to incur Seo’s hatred.
She thought she only liked him in moderation. She thought she could secretly hang out with him, avoiding the eyes of others, and end it with a light heart.
She thought it was lighthearted enough to sneak around and end it without anyone noticing.
But with just one fact that he turned away, her tears didn’t stop.
“Uh, uhuh, huh…”
After a day of crying, she woke up after a short nap, and anger began to rise in her heart. At that point, a few of her subordinates, who saw the situation in a bad light, tried to calm her down and tell her not to cry over a guy.
“Right. Why am I crying because of him? He should be the one crying! He lost me!”
As she pondered over it, she felt angry. It was annoying that he had turned away so coldly as if she was the only one who did something wrong.
Even if there was no stable future, they could enjoy themselves until they were caught, but giving up already? That’s not determination. Just because of that little obstacle? Ridiculous.
“Fine! Why would I like someone who turns away just because we can’t live together! I don’t like someone like that either! Where in the world are there no men other than him?”
If you leave so coldly, who do you think will hang on? Who do you think will continue to like you?
It was infuriating to think that he left without really trying, after all the pretenses of deep feelings and importance.
To be hurt with just that much emotion was disgusting. She spent the rest of the day criticizing Seo and eventually fell asleep, exhausted.
When she woke up again, she rubbed her bloodshot eyes and coughed dryly. She had been crying and shouting for so long that she had no energy and her voice was so hoarse it was unpleasant to hear.
The inside of her throat was not only scratchy, but her eyes and the tip of her nose stung as well. Hye-na, lying in the same bed with a dull mind, got up, rubbing her eyes.
She smoothed out her pajamas and let out a long yawn. Her slender hands touched Belze’s forehead.
“You don’t have a fever. Are you feeling better now?”
“Yeah.”
“Why did you make such a fuss about sleeping together yesterday when you usually sleep alone?”
“……”
“I get it. It must have been lonely not sleeping with Kim Seo. I’ll sleep with you for a couple of days, so get over it. Holding onto it for too long will only make you suffer.”
Belze got out of bed without saying anything and drank barley tea. After clearing her scratchy throat and coughing a few times, her voice came back, albeit roughly.
“…Are you done cleaning up the mess from the war with DDD? Do I need to participate?”
“The overall cleanup is almost done. What’s left is the reimbursement of assets and analyzing the inventions brought in by DDD, which is your specialty. That’s great. Clear your mind while working.”
“No. It seems like something I don’t need to do, so I’ll leave that to our team. I’m sorry as soon as I come back, but I’ll take an unpaid leave for a while.”
Belze wiped away the water running down her lips and picked up the extension phone. Hearing the sound of Belze calling Jet, who was temporarily in care after getting injured in the fight against DDD, Hyena gave her a jab.
“What are you up to?”
“I’m going to go see Seo.”
“Hey, trying to get revenge just because he dumped you makes you pathetic…”
“I’m going to make him mine again.”
Belze put down the phone and looked up. Despite the lack of vigor, his face was very warm.
A look of desire that resembled anger started in her round eyes and spread across her face.
“Who does he think he is, taking his love away from me?”
No one in this world can take what belongs to someone else.
Even if it’s Seo’s love, even if the person taking it is Seo himself.
“I won’t let anyone take what’s mine. That’s just not possible. Not when my eyes are open.”
That was the conclusion Belze had come to after a long day. She had cried, got angry, fell asleep, and when she woke up, the greed that had been adequately concealed became vivid.
This love is so precious that she can’t afford to lose it.
…Or, more accurately, she would reclaim it by any means necessary.
As any worthy villain should. Belze ignited a long-suppressed determination.
