Of course, he wasn’t just visually an excellent man.
Every touch across her skin and every breath stimulated her.
Jella unconsciously removed his hair that was stuck to his forehead with sweat and asked.
“I’ve been wanting to ask you something… This isn’t your first time, is it?”
“Pardon?”
Cail blinked innocently as he asked back. Yet his hands and lips were teasing her skin in ways that were not innocent at all.
“You’re too good at this for it to be your first time. It doesn’t make sense.”
Having already become petty enough to feel jealous, Jella boldly expressed her doubt.
Come to think of it, she had asked a similar question the first night they spent together. Why he was so good at this.
But Cail had cleverly avoided answering, taking advantage of her being intoxicated by the pleasure his body gave her.
“I’ve never done this with anyone but you.”
“But you’re too skilled and too good at it.”
“Is this considered good?”
Cail asked with a low laugh.
“How can you even say… ah…”
“I don’t know about that. I’m just always moving with the thought of wanting to satisfy you.”
“Ah, mmm, C-Cail…”
“If you feel pleasure because of me, that is the reason, purpose, and only achievement of my life. So, Jella.”
Cail whispered, pressing his body close to hers.
“I’ll do better.”
“Ah…!”
With a faint exclamation, the mattress shook.
The room, which had been cool from being unoccupied for a while, began to fill with hot air.
***
Her second-floor room above the pharmacy was now filled with both of their belongings. The single bed had long been replaced with one large enough for two people to lie together with room to spare.
Jella rubbed her eyes and sat up as morning sunlight filtered through the curtains.
It was time to open the pharmacy.
But a thick arm from behind pulled at her waist.
“Stay with me a little longer, Jella.”
“No, if we’re any later…”
Jella, who was trying to dissuade him, suddenly paused at the feeling of something pressing against her lower back.
“You… why is this again…”
“Is it really not possible?”
“…”
Noticing Jella’s hesitation, Cail smiled and whispered in a gentle voice.
“I want to be closer to you.”
He said this, knowing that she wouldn’t be able to refuse if he whispered like this.
While Jella was contemplating, her body was pulled back under the blanket.
“I thought you were like a puppy.”
“Yes, Jella.”
“Now I see you’re really a fox.”
“That’s right, Jella.”
“You admit you’re cunning?”
“Everything you say is right.”
Cail answered like someone giving predetermined responses while continuously kissing her skin.
Of course, Jella didn’t dislike being close to him either.
Sometimes, if possible, she just wanted to do nothing but be held in his arms.
A wave of pleasure swept through the room.
‘Maybe I’ll take just today off.’
Just as Jella was enjoying the afterglow in his arms with a satisfied expression.
Bang bang bang! Bang bang!
The two froze at the sound of someone knocking on the window.
“Ignore it.”
“Yes, Jella.”
Cail answered neatly and kissed her neck.
But soon, the sound of someone noisily knocking on the window was heard again.
Bang bang bang bang bang bang!
Boom bang bang bang bang!
“…”
“…”
Jella and Cail turned to look at the same time.
Through the curtain, they could see a black shadow enthusiastically knocking on the window.
It was Helasio, who had previously been thoroughly scolded for interrupting the two without knocking.
Jella sighed with a displeased face and got up.
Cail brought a robe, draped it over her shoulders, and firmly fastened the front, tying the waist string.
Throughout this process, Helasio continued to frantically pound on the window without stopping.
Jella frowned as she pulled back the curtain and opened the window.
“You found your body, so why do you keep coming back?”
“Aren’t you hating me too much?”
Helasio pouted at being treated openly as an unwelcome guest.
“Why would I like you then?”
Jella retorted with her arms crossed askew.
“Besides, whenever you’re here, customers get startled and run away.”
Helasio, having regained his body, was receiving a lot of hatred from Jella because he kept excitedly appearing in dragon form, flying around and causing disturbances, interfering with her business.
“Then if I become human, will you let me stay here?”
“You can transform into a human?”
Jella asked, looking at Helasio with a skeptical expression.
“Of course!”
Helasio confidently nodded and then attempted to transform with a “poof!”
He became a handsome human man with black hair and red eyes.
“…!”
Jella stared at him with wide eyes in surprise.
Emboldened by her reaction, Helasio burst into hearty laughter.
“Hahaha! You’re amazed at my greatness! How about it, I look cool as a human too…”
Cail, who had walked to the window, pushed Helasio right out.
“Aaaaaargh!”
Thud!
The sound of Helasio falling was heard.
“Gasp! Helasio?”
“He won’t die.”
Cail answered coldly as he closed the window.
“Cail?”
Jella tilted her head and asked, seeing his somewhat displeased expression.
“Are you angry?”
“…”
Cail bit his lower lip hard and hesitated, then finally answered.
“That dragon’s transformed appearance… both his face and body are close to your type.”
“What?”
Jella, who didn’t understand what he meant for a moment, soon burst into chuckles.
“What are you talking about? He’s not my type at all. What I like is, hmm.”
Jella pretended to think for a moment, then smiled and explained.
“A handsome face with silver hair and blue eyes, with hands calloused from holding a sword yet more careful and delicate than anyone when touching me, someone whose hometown is the north but who claims that his home is by my side—that’s the kind of man I like.”
“…That’s just me.”
“Yes, Cail Aleret is my type.”
Jella answered with a chuckle.
“And I just realized, I seem to like jealous men. I like it when you’re jealous too.”
Cail covered his reddened face and said.
“…Such words are too dangerous, Jella.”
“Hmm?”
“I’m already suppressing my jealousy toward people who look at you, but if you say even this unbecoming side of me is cute, what if I stop holding back and show an even more unbecoming jealous side?”
“Why? I don’t mind.”
“…”
“You can be more jealous. It’s cute.”
Jella whispered, interlocking her fingers with his.
After silently fiddling with her hand for a while, Cail carefully confessed.
“…Sometimes I feel jealous even of the customers who come to your pharmacy, and I consider blowing up your pharmacy.”
“Huh?”
“I think about taking you, who would lose your place when the pharmacy collapses, to my castle and locking you in the deepest part. Locking the door tight so no one can find you…”
“W-wait! That’s kidnapping and imprisonment!”
“…Indeed. How ugly. Having such terrible thoughts.”
Cail muttered with a suddenly dejected face.
“Well, as long as it stays just imagination.”
Jella answered, clearing her throat.
To be honest, even Cail having such absurd thoughts was very cute to her. She must truly have fallen head over heels for him.
But if she revealed those honest feelings…
‘He might really put it into action. He has… somewhat twisted aspects.’
So Jella decided not to let Cail know about her true feelings for the sake of the pharmacy’s peace.
At that moment, the door burst open with thundering footsteps.
“Cail Aleret! Y-y-you crazy bastard! Are you trying to kill me?!”
Helasio appeared with blood on his head, pointing accusingly at Cail.
“Wow, he really didn’t die.”
“What did I tell you? That guy would be fine even if pushed off a cliff.”
“W-what? Cliff? Are you challenging me now…!”
Jella threw something at the agitated Helasio.
“Huh?”
Helasio forgot his anger and caught it obediently. It was an apron.
“Put that on and come downstairs. You said you wanted to work at the pharmacy.”
“When did I say I wanted to work…?”
Helasio objected, but Jella and Cail had already gone downstairs without listening to his answer.
“Wait, I’m coming too!”
Helasio followed them down, clumsily tying the apron strings.
Soon, the pharmacy door opened wide with the jingling of bells.
Another day at Jella’s simple but peaceful pharmacy began, just like any other day.
T/n: Cail taking such a possessive yandere-like, intense route wasn’t what I expected, but it was undeniably hot. (¬‿¬)
I can’t decide if Helasio wanting to be part of their life feels more like a puppy seeking attention or somehow like their secret love child. He is cute nonetheless.
This novel was truly heartwrenching on so many levels. Fortunately or at least, the final chapter ended on a happy note. And if we forget everything else we read before, it really is a perfect happy ending.
I still stand by my opinion until the bitter end. A reverse harem ending with Jella as Emperor or Empress (if she wanted to let Cail be Emperor) would have been better in my book. (☍﹏⁰)。
