“Yesterday, I heard something quite unusual.”
Jeong Ijun, the second grandson of Chairman Jeong of Baekya Food, the 16th-generation descendant of the Seorae family.
And Kim Siyeon, who had spent 25 years as the fiancée of Jeong Gwihyeon, Chairman Jeong’s eldest grandson.
“Although I occasionally inherited useful things like clothes or items my brother used when I was young, inheriting the woman my brother had been with all along is just too much.”
He knew exactly where to prod to make Siyeon feel uncomfortable, and he was making full use of that knowledge.
“So, you just need to come to terms with the fact that you can’t marry the man you’ve always thought of as a younger brother, and take him as your husband for a lifetime.”
He picked up his coffee cup with a relaxed demeanor.
“…I understand what you mean.”
“I’m glad you understand.”
“You’re basically telling me how could a woman who had always been with the older brother end up marrying the younger brother instead.”
His gaze, which had been fixed on the coffee cup, slowly lifted.
“Exactly.”
It was a neatly delivered response.

tbh this novel was rly disappointing cos the FL is way too hatable. every single problem was caused 100% by her and the ML only finds out the truth from someone else. she never apologizes and even has the audacity to say she doesn’t regret breaking up with him despite being insanely cruel when she did it. then later she’s flippantly like “if you leave me i’ll survive” honestly it never actually seems like she likes him at all, much less loves him. she has more excited feelings going to have dinner with her parents than she ever does seeing the ML. it’s genuinely so insufferable and i spent the whole book wanting him to dump her bc i hated her so much
