Grand Duke, I Like You, But Please Die! - Chapter 35
Delia cut herself off and asked Lisa.
“Lisa, did you notice anything strange about the Grand Duke?”
Lisa sighed deeply.
“Oh. Strange doesn’t even begin to cover it. More like completely strange!”
It seemed she wasn’t the only one who found Kaiel’s behavior odd. Delia was about to ask what exactly was strange, but Lisa noticed her wrist and gasped.
“What happened to your arm? Did someone pinch you all over?”
“Huh?”
Delia was momentarily dazed.
“Pinch…… pinch me? What do you mean? Does it look like that?”
“What else could it be? It’s clearly bruises from being pinched. Miss! Don’t tell me you harmed yourself…….”
“No!”
Lisa, thinking to herself again, widened her eyes and looked at Delia.
“Then perhaps last night……!”
Her eyes filled with surprise, Lisa grabbed Delia’s hand.
“I see. I understand now. I’m a perceptive woman, so I won’t ask any more. ……Ahem.”
Delia rolled her eyes, realizing what Lisa meant, and quickly shouted.
“No, ask! What are you thinking……! Whatever it is, it’s not that!”
Lisa looked slightly surprised. She opened her mouth to speak but led Delia to her room first.
“Let’s talk inside.”
At the entrance to the room, Lisa finally spoke.
“Miss. I really…… be honest.”
“About what?”
“Last night with the Grand Duke, did you…… did you do that?”
“……What?”
When Delia suddenly looked dazed, Lisa couldn’t hold back and stomped her feet.
“It’s true! Since serving the Grand Duke, I’ve never seen anything like it, never!”
She still couldn’t believe it, her face full of shock.
“When the Grand Duke left the office, both his ears…… his ears were burning red……!”
That couldn’t be. Him blushing? Delia, as the author of this novel, could confidently say that.
“You must have seen it wrong.”
For him to blush anywhere on his body was as impossible as the sky falling.
As Delia spoke so firmly, Lisa, who had been excitedly insisting she was sure of what she saw, became deflated. She muttered in a sulky tone.
“Fine. I must have seen it wrong. I’m sure I saw it, but if Miss says otherwise, then it must be.”
Her voice was full of frustration. But regardless, Delia, who concluded that Lisa was mistaken, was lost in other thoughts and didn’t hear her.
‘What on earth did I do last night?’
Now, this question seemed to be one she needed to ask Kaiel rather than herself. Of course, she must have done something wrong too, but now that she had figured out the cause of these red bruises, she couldn’t help but ask him.
‘Pinch marks?’
Delia pressed and pinched her arm. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for red blood to gather and form a bruise-like mark.
The marks were exactly like those that had appeared on her arm last night. The only difference was how faint they were, depending on the time they had formed.
Delia stared at her arm for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“Hahaha! Am I clay, or am I slime?”
Lisa, who had been watching her from the side, casually remarked.
“Slime? I don’t know what that is, but clay? If the Grand Duke thought of you as clay, that would be quite a problem. You’d be all kneaded up. Without a shape. As you know, the Grand Duke isn’t someone who can control his strength.”
“Lisa, are you mad?”
For some reason, Lisa had been the most enthusiastic supporter of the relationship between the Grand Duke and her.
“Sometimes it seems like you’re more serious about this than I am. Right?”
Delia teased, and Lisa lifted her head and walked to the corner.
“It’s your business, Miss.”
She soon picked up the new dress she had brought from the office. It was an exceptionally beautiful dress.
The white fabric fell softly and elegantly, and it looked expensive just by sight.
“First, take care of that disgraceful outfit.”
Lisa handed her the dress. Delia carefully began to put it on.
The dresses in this world were quite tricky to wear, and she almost tripped over the skirt several times.
“You’ll tear it even before you put it on, Miss!”
With Lisa’s help, Delia finally managed to put on the dress perfectly.
Lisa stepped back a few steps to take in Delia’s appearance.
Delia spun around and smiled brightly.
“How do I look?”
Lisa, who couldn’t help but exclaim, started to inspect Delia from various angles, more excited than Delia herself.
“You look beautiful. How does it fit so perfectly? It looks like it was custom-made for you.”
Delia looked herself over and became curious.
The dress fit her body perfectly. The shoulder and waist areas hugged her body gently, and the length of the dress was just right.
“You’re right?”
Kaiel had called the designer to the castle, but there was no way they could have known her exact measurements just by looking.
Unless the designer had personally taken her measurements, how could it fit so perfectly?
“Lisa, did you, by any chance, give my measurements to Kaiel?”
The answer came immediately.
“No?”
Delia flapped the skirt around and thought.
‘Did they infer from the clothes I usually wear?’
But the clothes she usually wore were either a bit loose or a bit tight, never this perfect.
Then Lisa, as if realizing something, called out to Delia.
“Miss.”
“Hmm?”
“I doubt it, but…… could the Grand Duke have measured your size himself? While you were sleeping last night.”
“……No way.”
No way.
Lisa, a character in the novel, wouldn’t know.
How crude and rough the Grand Duke was, how disinterested he was in anything related to women.
That’s why Delia, the author of this world, thought everything Lisa said was nonsense.
‘Blushing ears, measuring a woman’s body? That’s impossible…….’
Just as she was about to dismiss everything as impossible, the red marks on her wrist caught her eye again.
Really, no way?
If Lisa’s guess was correct, Kaiel might have left those marks while trying to measure her size last night.
His grip strength was enough to leave all kinds of bruises on someone’s body with just a touch.
‘How strong is he…….’
Unlike the generals with solid physiques honed on battlefields, most nobles grew up as delicate as greenhouse flowers.
He wouldn’t know how weak and insignificant most nobles’ bodies were in this world.
‘I should teach him how to control his strength.’
Lisa’s claim that his ears turned red seemed absurd, but measuring her size……
‘Could that be possible?’
Of course, it was hard to imagine Kaiel measuring a woman’s size, but he wouldn’t want to see her running around naked like a plucked chicken, so it wasn’t impossible.
Even Lisa had described her outfit as disgraceful and shameful.
Since Kaiel was the only one who knew what happened last night, she had to find him.
Meanwhile, Kaiel was sitting in his office chair, staring at his hand like he could bore a hole through it.
He looked at his palm, then the back of his hand, opening and closing it several times before suddenly dropping his hand limply.
His deep blue-gray eyes were darker than usual, full of thoughts.
‘Too weak. Way too weak. Just that much……!’
The events of the previous night played vividly in his mind like a painting, making him dizzy.
The red marks left on her neck, which he had grabbed and then released, and the red marks all over her body, even though he had only carefully examined her.
Bang!
The Grand Duke suddenly slammed his desk, startling a servant passing by in the hallway, who dropped the candlestick they were holding.
The noise was quite loud, but Kaiel, lost in his thoughts, didn’t notice.
‘Can I really say I was just examining her?’
Feeling his face heat up again, he unconsciously reached out and picked up the quill on his desk.
The quill he grabbed had a much thicker stem than others. It had a thick metal casing.
Countless quills that had snapped or bent and been discarded flashed through his mind.
His aide, Matisse, had specially ordered quills with several times stronger casings, reducing the frequency of broken quills.
Soon, Kaiel’s expressionless face quietly and gradually showed signs of shock behind his cold exterior.
‘Break…….’
Like the feather on the quill, that woman seemed like she could break, bend, or fly away at any moment.
He felt that it wouldn’t be pleasant if she broke or got damaged. He didn’t know why, but he just felt that way.
“For the time being…….”
After much deliberation, he slowly put the quill back down.
For the time being, he decided not to touch her body at all.
