The youngest princess of the mermaid kingdom lives under her father’s excessive overprotection.
Though Vivianne lives in water, she somehow feels like she’s drowning.
When she secretly surfaces during her mating season, she falls for the most brilliant male on land.
Desperately wanting to reach him, Vivi makes a dangerous deal with a witch…
“When the red moon rises, if you become pregnant with that male’s offspring, you can become human.”
She thought she could reach the brilliant male with the legs she temporarily gained.
Then one day, she discovers traces of taxidermied mermaids in a suspicious room of the mansion.
That’s when she realized.
She had fallen into a trap.

Pure rage bait, got so frustrated i threw my phone then created an account just so i could warn other people not to read this. FL is basically damsel in distress and has what i can only call stockholm syndrome. ML is literally the WORST and redemption arc is non-existent, he did not make up for what he did and the author is sweeping everything under the rug with some fking chocolates and a date. Please, this is a horror show wrapped up as ‘dark romance’. Zero angst, pure frustration. Even the s*x is mid cause shes so naive. Do not waste your time.

This is my second dark romance novel, and I absolutely loved it. The male lead is a jerk—arrogant yet undeniably handsome—which is why the female lead, a mermaid, falls for him at first sight and even trades half of her soul just to gain legs and reach him.
The female lead is sweet, cute, and loving. She’s a little naïve, tends to overthink everything, and often blames herself, yet she can read the room very well. Whether on land or underwater, everyone around her adores her… except the male lead, who initially treats her like a toy and never takes her feelings seriously.
But in the end, he realizes his mistakes, feels guilty for the way he treated her, and finally understands that he loves her even more than she loves him—though only after some satisfying angst.
Overall, the pacing and writing of this novel are amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, will definitely reread it, and highly recommend it. Thank you for the translations, and happy reading 🙂
