My Former Lover Didn't Die And Came Back - Chapter 12
When he entered, the air in the bedroom changed. Three years on the battlefield had made Cedric imposing just by his presence alone. Blair shuddered almost every day, intimidated by him, despite their bodies intertwining each time.
It was one thing to be relieved that he was alive, but quite another to be terrified of him. It was a fear that anyone would feel in the face of death, as long as there was a living being. He was a man of monstrous strength, who could easily suffocate her with just the power of his grip, and he had reasons to kill her.
‘Will he kill me after we have s*x tonight…?’
Blair couldn’t shake off that thought during their first month together. Cedric preferred positions reminiscent of animals mating, and because of that, Blair’s fear heightened from not seeing his face.
Cedric visited the mansion almost every day, but apart from matters related to their physical relationship, there were hardly any conversations exchanged between them.
On the second night after their reunion, when Cedric finished the fourth round, Blair lost consciousness. When she woke up, it was the next morning, and the bedroom was empty. She worried if there would be money left on the bedside table, but to her relief, there was nothing.
After spending the night, the days were always the same. She cleaned up the mansion, wiping away any lingering traces and tidying up the hall. It was better to keep moving her body than to do nothing. Being still led her thoughts down negative paths, so staying busy helped her avoid overthinking.
The day after Cedric’s visits always involved washing the bed sheets and blankets. She put the sheets in the laundry tub, stomped on them, and hung them out to dry. If it was a sunny day, they would dry before sunset.
Time passed like an arrow.
* * *
She felt the chill as she approached the window. The noticeably shorter days felt real. Being adjacent to the sea, the winter of the Eleanor Empire was unusually cold.
Blair pulled her shawl tighter around herself and leaned against the window. She saw Cedric’s subordinates guarding the main gate.
They were wearing military uniforms, but at some point, they changed into clothes that resembled those worn by other guards. To passersby, they appeared to be ordinary guards protecting a luxurious mansion.
A small guard post was built near the main gate. The change in attire and the guard post clearly indicated that she would be confined for a long period.
After months without human interaction, she felt like she was slowly going mad. With Cedric, they would only have s*x; there was no everyday conversation between them. To starve her to death or to drive her insane with loneliness to kill her. Whatever it was, it was a direction she had not imagined.
As Blair gazed out by the window, she gathered the bed sheets and blankets and walked through the hall.
“…Huh?”
Knock knock. When she heard the sound of knocking on the front door, she quickly approached it. Checking the peephole, she found a letter pushed through.
‘…Theo must have taken the letter!’
The sender was her mother. Her neat handwriting was visible on the envelope of the letter.
‘A letter from Mom……!’
Blair smiled brightly, moving the muscles on her face. She quickly tore open the envelope and took out the letter paper. Between the pages, she could almost smell her mother’s familiar scent.
With trembling hands, Blair read the cursive writing.
【To my daughter, Blair.
My dear daughter. How are you? I received your letter well.
I have now become accustomed to the rural life we started due to your father’s health.
The downside is that the postal carriage here has set days for delivery, so I can’t receive letters as quickly as when we were in the city.
I was quite surprised to see the date at the end of your letter. It had been over two weeks.】
It felt as if she could hear her mother’s elegant tone. Blair’s eyes reddened.
【It’s not just the letters. The postman here is so lazy that he doesn’t even deliver the newspapers on time. Can you believe that we just found out that the war has ended?】
Her parents wanted to spend their old age in a quiet place and had moved to the countryside, which was quite a distance from the capital.
【But since moving here, your father has found it much easier to breathe. There’s no way we can go back to the city.】
Although they complained that everything was slow in the countryside, in reality, the two of them were quite satisfied with rural life. Blair read the letter with a smile on her face all along. But her expression stiffened at the next sentence.
【…Actually, it’s shameless, but I have a favor to ask. Your husband’s living expenses that he provided before ran out faster than expected. The cash you enclosed in your letter was enough to keep the lights on, but… according to the pharmacist, the cost of medication recently has risen too much…】
“……”
Blair’s eyebrows furrowed. Her parents were in urgent need of living expenses and medication costs.
‘I have to send money to my parents… What should I do?’
Blair pondered, biting her lip. With the household income taken away and her husband in prison, the household’s economic activities had come to a standstill.
‘Should I bring up the topic when Cedric returns home? Should I plead with him to allow me to restart the business?’
With her husband detained, she was the only one left. But would Cedric allow her to work?
* * *
Today, Cedric returned earlier than usual. The carriage wheels halted in front of the mansion while the crimson sun was still hanging on the horizon. Blair, who was preparing dinner in the kitchen, rushed out to the hallway at the sound of the mansion door opening.
“Why are you here at this time?”
Blair asked, wiping her hands on her skirt.
“…I finished work early.”
Cedric replied, throwing his cloak onto a chair against the wall.
“I was in the middle of making dinner.”
Blair casually changed the subject of conversation, but in reality, she had only one thought in her mind.
‘…How do I bring up my parents’ living expenses…?’
Or, more precisely.
‘If I plead to restart the business… Will Cedric agree? If I promise not to run away, that I’ll never do anything rash when my husband and parents’ well-being is at stake… maybe he’ll listen.
Blair thought hard.
‘Let me propose taking a certain percentage from my earnings. I’ll suggest a higher percentage for Cedric from the total income than what I take. Maybe that could persuade him.’
After swallowing hard, Blair turned back to walk towards the kitchen counter to finish preparing dinner.
The soup in the pot began to simmer. As she added sliced carrots to the pot, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Turning around, she saw Cedric standing with his arms folded, looking at his own reflection.
“……”
Blair briefly glanced at Cedric, then turned back to continue cooking. The man who could not possibly know what she was thinking, stepped closer.
“Join me.”
Cedric spoke, leaning his large body towards her. As his breath touched her ear, she felt a tickle and flinched slightly.
“…It’s okay, you just stay there.”
She hoped he hadn’t noticed her blush.
Though he suggested she sit at the dining table, he opted to stand behind her and watch her cook the soup.
Blair continued to stir the soup to prevent it from sticking. She wore a white apron over her dress to avoid splatters. She found it in a corner of the kitchen, designed according to her taste, with a ribbon tied at the back.
“……”
It was then. Cedric pressed closely against Blair’s back as she stirred the ladle.
“What are you trying to do…? Are you trying to cook yourself?”
But contrary to expectations, the warmth of Cedric’s body against Blair’s back turned cool again.
“……Ah!”
At the same time, she felt the rustling of her skirt. The fabric fluttered, making a sound as the cold air touched her calves.
“……Cedric!”
Blair turned around with a flushed face. Cedric was inside her skirt. When a big man like him got inside, the back of her dress rose.
Who would have thought a grown man would behave like this! Blair used to play this game when she was five, hiding in her mother’s skirt.
“What are you doing…!!”
Blair shouted at him who was under her skirt. She couldn’t stop what she was doing, saying she was in the middle of cooking.
“……Your underwear is pretty.”
Cedric’s casual voice rang out.
“……Ha!”
Her shocked face flushed even more. She was already heated up, but she turned even redder. At that moment, Cedric lightly brushed over her underwear with his finger.
“……Don’t…!!”
Though flustered, Blair protested, but there was no response. She could tell he deliberately wasn’t responding. His hand was too busy moving!
Cedric’s fingers traced over Blair’s underwear. Moving the two fingers between her legs back and forth, and then something small popped out.
“……Ah…!”
Blair let out a moan, unable to endure any longer. She felt her strength leaving her legs. Cedric slightly moved her panties to the side.
His long fingers gently brushed against her golden p*bic hair. If it were a colored dress, it might have been dark underneath, but in her white muslin dress, the candlelight from the kitchen wall shone through. Her lace-trimmed underwear was also white. Beyond the fabric, her golden p*bic hair peeked through. It was even more obsc*ne in person.
When he gently parted the hairs, a small bead emerged. Cedric delicately teased the shy little bud that sprouted.
“……Ah…!”
Blair’s leg trembled. Cedric slid his finger into her split flesh, exploring the damp inner walls. He gazed intently at Blair’s moistened pink flesh.
He slowly moved his finger, and the tightness inside remained. Even with just two fingers inserted, it was tight. It seemed like he wasn’t getting used to being f*cked.
“…It’s still tight.”
He said with a sigh. His hot breath touched her flesh and she shivered. Cedric’s breathing grew rougher. The moist and warm walls of her p*ssy were pulling in his fingers. It was the hottest and most lewd part of Blair’s body. It was hard to stop.
“……Ah… Please, Cedric…!”
Blair cried out, but he was not one to listen to words. Instead, his fingers delved even deeper.
