“I wonder if he’s coming today.”
For what felt like the umpteenth time, Meriel stared blankly at the clock on the wall.
She didn’t even notice the imposing display of various weapons lined up in front of her. The weapons she should be selling to customers had long since escaped her attention.
Will he come through that door?
The handsome, large-framed man she’d seen two days ago kept flickering through her mind.
“It’s about time for him to arrive, isn’t it?”
Meriel’s gaze turned forward once more. The front door that naturally caught her eye whenever she looked ahead. Wouldn’t he come through that door sometime today?
The rarely-seen, large-framed handsome man had caught her eye more than any customer she’d ever seen. She could hardly believe she was awake—it felt like meeting the ideal man she’d always wanted in real life.
‘He forgot and left behind one of his swords, so he’ll probably come today.’
The man who’d purchased two swords, finished paying, but ended up leaving one behind in his rush. The Royal Knight Commander named Hersion.
‘When will he come?’
Meriel rested her chin crookedly in her hand and shifted her gaze toward the sword the large man had left behind. She’d deliberately placed it in front of her so she could hand it to him the moment he arrived. Looking at the heavy sword, Hersion’s image filled Meriel’s mind once more.
It had been a few days ago.
