Chapter 5.1 – Wisdom Tooth
Before they even arrived at the address she had entered, a problem arose.
The alley was too narrow for the car to enter at all. The place where they had to park the car was right next to a busy district. Her husband got out of the car and looked around before speaking to her.
“Is this really a place where people live?”
Somehow, almost everything he had seen while driving was related to the entertainment industry. At the neighborhood scenery that didn’t match his wife at all, he cracked his fingers again with a crunching sound.
“Th-this place isn’t usually this dark.”
It was a neighborhood that Eun-hee had praised for being conveniently located with good transportation and close to a mart. At her husband’s serious reaction, she found herself making excuses.
“You have no fear.”
“It’s fine during the day.”
“Do crazy people choose to appear only during day and not night?”
Her husband said this while scanning the alley with no proper streetlights and the old buildings.
She had planned not to go out at all at night. She said she would walk alone, but her husband said he wouldn’t go back unless he went all the way to her front door.
When they passed the first alley, a young couple was sprawled out drunkenly in a mess. Even in that state, the man was boldly groping the woman with his hands.
“They’re probably not residents here.”
“I didn’t ask.”
She spoke in an excuse-like manner in her confusion, but her husband’s reaction was sharp as a knife.
Finally, when they reached the front of the villa, just as she was about to say goodbye.
“Let’s go in for tea.”
Her husband stood his ground with what seemed uncharacteristically shameless stubbornness, which left her speechless, but thinking of his courtesy in bringing her here, she told him to come in for just a moment. The faint flush at the tip of his nose under the light of the entrance sensor also influenced her decision.
“You’re living well on your own.”
Her husband, who had entered the house, looked at the entrance lock system and went to the veranda to check the security windows. He said it was fortunate that it wasn’t on the first floor.
His attitude seemed as if he had been worried about her, so she spoke to reassure her husband.
“Eun-hee is naturally sharp and capable.”
“But you have a husband.”
That sounded exactly like saying she wasn’t sharp and capable. Feeling very embarrassed watching her husband say such things while sitting on the sofa, she walked to the kitchen.
“Please have some tea.”
It was two cups of herbal tea with triangular tea bags floating in them. After waiting for it to steep and blowing on it before drinking, her husband also took a sip and then tilted his head toward her.
“I understand your intention. You were sincere.”
She held the teacup with both hands. She wanted the trembling of her fingers to look like it was because of the warmth of the teacup.
“Tell me. The reason you want a divorce.”
For a moment, she almost burst into tears.
Finally, her husband was opening his ears to her words. All her efforts of acting out of character and making a fuss here and there had been worthwhile. Finally, she had been given the right to speak.
“I… loved you.”
Anyway, everything had been exposed today because of what happened at her father’s house. To her husband who already knew everything she had wanted to hide, there was no point in hiding anymore. Since she would be leaving anyway and would never see him again, there was nothing she couldn’t say.
“And… more than I ever imagined.”
The fingers holding the teacup were now trembling so much that she couldn’t hide it. To think that her first confession to her husband was a love confession—it felt like a dream. She couldn’t bring herself to look into her husband’s eyes, so her head remained bowed.
“Why are you saying that while looking at the floor?”
Her husband’s finger lifted her chin. Unexpectedly hot warmth was transmitted. When their eyes met and he gestured for her to continue, she swallowed hard. Her mouth was becoming parched.
“You don’t… love me.”
“So?”
“It might seem ridiculous to you, but for me, that’s… a reason.”
Before she knew it, the teacup had cooled down. More than half remained, but she just held it tightly. All her attention was focused on what words would come from her husband’s mouth.
“Give me just 3 weeks.”
However, her husband neither blamed nor criticized her. Also, though it was unlikely, he didn’t argue back saying he loved her. It was the devastation she had expected, but it made her bite down hard on her lower lip.
“You don’t love me, do you?”
She wasn’t unaware that divorce proceedings would take time. What her mind understood, her emotions couldn’t accept.
“Can’t you just say it, even if it’s just words? I’ve waited for 3 years!”
She ended up raising her voice, asking if it was so difficult to just say those words once. From the moment she had brought up the word love in front of her husband, it was already irreversible.
Love—why did that word, so easy to say, feel so unbearably cheap? She felt ashamed of herself.
“I love you.”
But her husband’s reaction made her feel even more at a loss. Her husband’s love seemed to have a different dictionary meaning from what she knew. Otherwise, he couldn’t have uttered it so calmly.
“Do you even know anything about love?”
“Is there some formula for love?”
“Th-that’s not it, but you’re not being sincere right now.”
She chewed on her lower lip. Her face became burning hot as if she were reciting lyrics from a ballad that went out of style in the 1980s. She had never imagined she would have such a childish conversation with her husband.
“Go Ah-jin! Do you know my true feelings?”
The teacup was still in her husband’s hands. In those hands with bulging tendons, the teacup looked like it would break at any moment. With that grip strength, it wouldn’t be impossible.
“Um, let’s put that down first and talk. That might be a teacup that Eun-hee treasures….”
“Just answer my question! What do you think love is?”
“I don’t really know either, but it’s not living like us. I know that much. So please put down that teacup….”
Thud.
He set the teacup down on the table. Instead, he reached out toward her. Overflowing strength pulled her toward him hotly.
Before she knew it, she was sitting on her husband’s thigh.
The firm thigh muscles she could feel beneath her hips twitched. The hand wrapped around her waist seemed like it would tighten at any moment, but he was barely controlling his strength.
Her husband’s rough breathing echoed in her ears, and the fine hairs on her face stood on end.
“I know you’re strong. I also know you’re angry right now, so… don’t break things for no reason and rather… break me instead.”
Before she knew it, she was sobbing. Unlike her resolve to respond calmly and composedly, she couldn’t help but be intimidated in front of her husband.
She thought it would be better once she left the house where she lived with her husband, but it wasn’t at all. Even at her friend’s house, her husband was still her husband and his charisma remained the same. Because of her husband’s body touching hers, strength naturally gathered in her lower abdomen.
“Don’t cry. Not unless it’s from pleasure under me.”
When vulgar words finally flowed from her husband’s mouth, she glared at him through her tears.
“Do you even realize how cruel you are? Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that you love me! But it isn’t me—it’s my body you love, isn’t it?”
“What’s the difference?”
“S-see? You don’t know. There is a difference! A big one! I loved you even when we weren’t together physically.”
That was a huge difference. She had come to like and love her husband himself, but her husband wasn’t like that, was he? She didn’t want to suffer emotionally anymore beside a husband who only wanted her body.
“Right. So your love seems to be separate from s*x.”
Her husband pressed his forehead with his other hand that wasn’t holding her waist. It was the first time she had seen such a troubled-looking face.
With his rough breathing, his Adam’s apple moved up and down several times. The black pupils that had been staring intently at her took on a light of some conviction.
“But not for me. For a man like me, you were the first woman I ever went so crazy biting, sucking, and licking. A beast, you say? I don’t deny it. But that’s my way. Don’t deny that part of me.”
Like someone confessing their innermost thoughts, her husband was being careful. Hearing that she was his first felt like listening to a confession. She felt dazed as if in a dream.
Her husband, who wasn’t good with words, couldn’t have made up such words on the spot, and to think these were words he brought out to get 3 weeks from her.
What could he possibly do in just that amount of time?

It’s also not merely her body that ML loves in the way she’s thinking. ML mentioned in an earlier chapter that of all their interactions, MC expresses herself most freely and honestly during s*x and he enjoys bringing that out of her.
