To the One Who Hates Me

Eight months before her wedding, Isabel was involved in a carriage accident.

When she finally regained consciousness a month later, she found that the world before her eyes had fallen into darkness.

News of the accident spread throughout the capital. A blind, stuttering woman from a minor noble family could never marry a grand duke. Everyone was certain that Damian would soon call off the engagement.

But Damian’s love was not so easily shaken.

“If it’s difficult to eat, spit it out.”

He held out his hand in front of Isabel’s lips, offering it to her.

“Does the food not suit your taste?”
“No, it’s not that…”

Isabel’s lips moved soundlessly, as though she were carefully reading the air.

“I just don’t really like salmon…”
“I’m sorry. I should have paid more attention to that.”

As Damian reached for a glass of water so she could rinse her mouth, his words trailed off.
