Very genuinely one of my favorite stories. Mc is optimistic without being naive, quick witted, honest, and competent. She’s sly and slick with somehow almost no malice, and ultimately refreshing when compared to mc’s who like brood, even when she does acknowledge things that might induce such brooding. She lives wholly in the moment, and is incredibly enjoyable to read.
All the characters are also well fleshed out, the arcs interesting and resolved in a timely manner, the plot fun and intricate, and th ML matches her well, though he does fall back into a bit of cliche being tragic hero protagonist with tightly subdued yandere tendencies. (Though admittedly, the validation he receives from mc about his feelings is both hilarious and heartwrenching.)
If i have any complaints, it’s that he hasn’t yet (as of ch 110)told mc that he has obviously determined her fake role has swiftly become real and that he wants her to stay forever.
The translation is also top notch, and a complete treasure to read.
