“What, are you at your limit now too? Still, you lasted quite a while.”
Rudvalt sneered and licked the blood on his claws.
Kyllen caught his breath and calmly raised the holy sword again.
“You talk a lot too. Did you become a demon for that?”
“……And you say many words that hasten death.”
Rudvalt’s lips hardened, his pride hurt by the way Kyllen answered back fearlessly without being afraid of him.
He created black flames in both hands and threw them mercilessly. Kyllen pressed his wounded area with his hand and ran to avoid the flames.
Because he had injured his right arm while protecting Shailyn earlier, his movement wasn’t free on either side.
He struggled to move his arm and split the flames with the holy sword. Then the ominous jet-black flames that looked evil just by sight died down.
“It’s not over yet.”
“Really? I think differently.”
Rudvalt curled up one corner of his mouth and launched a flame as large as a rock.
Kyllen instinctively knew he couldn’t avoid it and tried to face it while holding the holy sword. However, this time he couldn’t completely split the flame.
His legs eventually gave way as he took the full impact.
“Ugh!”
“Your body doesn’t seem to be in good shape either.”
Seeing Kyllen kneeling on the ground, panting, Rudvalt let out a pleasant laugh.
Satisfaction welled up seeing him wounded here and there, completely battered. It was a thrill like breaking straight bamboo.
He leisurely approached Kyllen and said.
“My host hated you terribly. Still, since he’s a human who offered his body to me, I should grant at least one wish, right?”
When strong hands grabbed his throat, Kyllen frowned. His skin stung.
“Die, human……!”
Rudvalt raised his other hand high. Even with dark clouds covering the entire sky, it was the moment his claws flashed with a chilling light.
“Yaaaah!”
With a resounding shout, something was scattered over Rudvalt’s body.
“Get away from my bondservant—!”
“……?!”
Surprised by the pain of his skin burning hotly, he fell away from Kyllen.
Unlike when he grabbed the holy sword, the melted parts didn’t recover.
It meant he had been hit by a power of higher purity than the holy power contained in the sword.
Kyllen barely escaped from Rudvalt and looked to the side with a surprised face before he could even compose himself.
“……Shailyn?”
Was that woman running with silver hair fluttering really Shailyn?
He vividly remembered sending her soul back and then laying her sleeping body separately. Am I seeing things?
As if to awaken his mind, hands with the warm temperature characteristic of a living person grabbed his cheeks.
“Carl! Are you okay?!”
Kyllen’s lips trembled as he stared blankly at Shailyn, who was examining him with worried, drooping eyebrows.
“How are you…… you went back to your original world.”
“I came back. Once a bondservant, always a bondservant, and as your master, I have a duty to protect you.”
“You……”
Shailyn pulled up the corners of her mouth and smiled refreshingly. Kyllen’s pupils shook faintly.
He should be angry, asking what she was doing, but instead he felt relieved. He was so happy that she hadn’t really left.
“Let’s fight together. I met the sun god, Solaris.”
Shailyn said solemnly while holding his hand. She had returned to her body and woken up, then was a bit late while looking for something that could serve as a weapon.
Instead, thanks to that, she had obtained holy water and a sword. What she had sprinkled on Rudvalt was none other than that holy water.
“She granted me the power to seal the demon.”
“……Really, you’re impossible to handle.”
Kyllen read the strong will in her blue eyes and chuckled.
There was no corner left to run to, and Shailyn didn’t want to run away either, so there was only one path left.
“Alright, let’s fight together. Living together and dying together isn’t bad either.”
With Shailyn’s support, Kyllen got up. Rudvalt’s face contorted as he momentarily lost his senses after being hit by the holy water.
“Hah…… even if bugs join forces, they’re still just bugs. I’ll make you both regret coming back!”
Shailyn had been glaring at him screaming with a demonic face, then turned her head toward Chester.
“Tower master! Please help us!”
“Just say the word.”
Chester nodded calmly. Shailyn said while closely watching Rudvalt’s movements.
“We need to restrict the demon’s movement. Even for a few seconds, make him unable to move.”
“Understood.”
Chester, who hated himself for being paralyzed by fear and doing nothing momentarily, answered with a resolute voice.
This time, even if the fear of death consumed him, he would never back down.
He took a big step and stood beside Shailyn. Seeing the three standing side by side, Rudvalt sneered.
“Ha, you all seem crazy wanting to die together. Do you know who I am!”
“Who are you.”
Kyllen replied indifferently and rushed in holding the holy sword.
“Just a lowly demon bastard.”
“……!”
The blade that passed by narrowly left a scratch on Rudvalt’s body.
At the same time, Shailyn threw the sword sprinkled with holy water. Chester aimed the sword precisely with magic.
Toward Rudvalt’s shoulder.
“Ugh.”
Rudvalt was hit, grabbed his shoulder and staggered.
The holy water containing holy power that Shailyn had received from Solaris exerted powerful force.
Rudvalt gritted his teeth at the pain of part of his body melting.
How did he resurrect on this earth.
He couldn’t let everything go to waste just because he was blocked by a few humans.
“Aaaaah! D*mn humans, I’ll k*ll you all!”
When he roared in anger, black magic power swirled around his body.
He pushed Kyllen away with tremendous force and rushed at Shailyn.
Since he, who had even overcome the holy power of the holy sword, was only affected by Shailyn’s holy water, naturally he had to eliminate her first.
“It’s dangerous……!”
Chester urgently blocked Shailyn’s front. But Rudvalt swung his claws and sent him flying to the side.
When the magic barrier broke in an instant, Shailyn looked at Chester with surprised eyes.
“Tower master!”
“It’s all because of you. If I just k*ll you, I—!”
It was when Rudvalt, who stood before her, growled lowly and reached out his hand.
A sharp blade pierced through his forearm.
“……!”
Shailyn’s eyes widened as she confirmed the owner of that blade.
“Your Highness!”
Linus, bleeding red from his forehead, curled up one corner of his mouth diagonally.
“I told you, don’t act cowardly and come at me.”
“This bastard……”
Thanks to him buying time, Kyllen and Chester also came to their senses and returned.
Rudvalt had no choice but to step back and furrowed his brow.
Kyllen, who had retrieved the sword Shailyn had thrown, handed the holy sword to her.
“Take it.”
“Why are you giving this to me?”
“You have to seal him anyway. We’ll hold that bastard, so you wait and move when you see an opportunity.”
“Ah…… got it!”
Shailyn gripped the holy sword tightly in her hands. It was surprisingly not heavy, which was amazing.
It seemed perfectly suited for her.
The three men behind her exchanged glances and adjusted their postures.
Though they usually had no particular friendship, now that they had a common goal, their wills united as one.
To protect Shailyn and seal the demon.
“I’ll k*ll you! I’ll k*ll you all—!”
Rudvalt went mad at the situation that kept going against his will.
Black power that would cover the entire world in darkness flowed from his body, but the three men weren’t afraid.
“Even if I’m in danger, you each do what you have to do.”
“Same for me, Your Highness.”
“It seems like a time when we must be prepared for some sacrifice.”
They quickly reached an agreement with each other. If they changed direction because someone was in danger like before, the world would be destroyed.
“Let’s go.”
Led by Kyllen, the three men attacked Rudvalt with all their might.
Kyllen and Linus, armed with swords, were in charge of close range, while Chester, wielding magic, was in charge of long range.
“Bug-like bastards! Humans are nothing but food for me……!”
Rudvalt, enraged, waved his hands carelessly and launched flames randomly.
The three people, being much more rational than him, pressured him while coordinating with each other. They didn’t care about their skin being torn and cut.
They struggled to bind Rudvalt’s hands and feet to create an opportunity for Shailyn.
When Kyllen and Linus’s swords entered both sides of Rudvalt’s ribs, and Chester’s binding magic wrapped around his feet….
The opportunity finally came.
“Shailyn!”
Kyllen signaled to her at the top of his voice. Shailyn, having been watching anxiously, gripped the holy sword tightly.
